Oh how I love me some Hashbrowns! Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge lover of potatoes. I’ve been coming here for quite some time over the years and the customer service is always great and friendly. And the combo Hashbrowns are even better. Unfortunately this is one of the places where you’ve figured out what you like on the menu and never steer off of the usual. For me, it’s the French toast with the homemade vanilla sauce which is amazing and the combo Hashbrowns which is a combination of regular and sweet potato Hashbrowns with cheese and onions and I believe garlic. Today I decided to give the north sider omelette a try which I am very picky about omelettes and it was just okay. I’ll be sticking to my usual which they’ve won me over with.

We pretty much only come here(twice a year max) because it’s within walking distance. The service is so-so and it is incredibly loud inside. If you order the egg nachos, ask for a side of salsa. What’s nachos without salsa? Dry. The bacon tasted like greasy fries and actually had a fry in the serving dish. Not a fan of deep fried bacon. The waitress forgot my side of hash browns and didn’t come back until we were almost finished since we could barely flag her down. This is pretty standard for every visit. Coffee is good though.

Pretty good chicken chipotle burrito, but I was a bit disappointed with the sweet hash browns. The toast was great.

Being a UIC student and living a block away from this place and being a fan of brunch, I’ve visited this place about 4 times so far. Honestly it was due to the location convenience of this place, as the food is not that special. Typical brunch items can be found here. Last time I went, I got the Chicken BLT, and although it wasn’t a breakfast item, I enjoyed that sandwich a lot! But for the price(13 $) I’m not sure if it was worth it. If you like brunch, do give this place a try as it’s a pretty good place :)

Their service was fast and their food was tasty! ! I had the duck bacon with sweet potato hashbrowns and two over medium eggs. I never had sweet potatoes with my eggs, so I tried it. They were good, but I’d much rather have the regular potato HashBrowns with my eggs. Duck Bacon was good. If you ask for coffee they bring you a «cup». It’s really a small soup bowl! Lol! Which I thought was just the right size :-) I’d recommend this place to anyone. They also make espressos and capps. House coffee is usually all I need. Their food was good, but not amazing which is why 4 stars. I should mention their pancakes are definitely huuuuge! They look like you could snuggle with them and be happy. Lol!

Fast, courteous service. Always hits the spot for hearty omelettes and coffee.

This place is so loud, you can barely hear the person you are with. The server only came to take our order and to bring the bill. Also, the food was not very good.

A friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and the wait time was only 5 mins and the service was great. We got the table we requested from the host/greeter. The cons from my experience was that the food was not worth the price. The food was dry and hard. It did not taste fresh and that was not all, the table didn’t have utensils so we waited long after to even start our food. The pros was that the water was refilled frequently and we got decent service. Would I recommend this place, not all because the food was not good to say the Least.

Great local go to. Consistently good tasting and quality food. We’ve had pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, & coffee. Been there many times and will return.

This place was adorable and a great spot for breakfast at lunch time. The sweet potato hashbrowns were delicious as were both the omelet’s we ordered. Nice service and great ambiance. I would go back =)

I love love love hashbrowns(the food), but the restaurant a like. They have a good breakfast and brunch selection and the food was all good, but nothing amazing. I find the sweet potato hash browns to be too soft, but I suppose there is not much that can be done to make sweet potatoes crispy. The omelettes are good, but nothing amazing and to be honest everything I have ordered from here is good. The restaurant is cute, but small and a bit crowded. they have a few outdoor tables for a sunny summer day. Overall a good choice for breakfast, however, there is often a line on weekends, so be prepared to wait.

I always knew I liked hash browns, especially the cheap ones from McDonalds. You know, all that grease. But my love for the flattened potato pancakes have grown with these amazing sweet potato versions! YUM! Hashbrowns is a great place to grab breakfast or lunch(so… brunch!) during work or on a weekend. They offer a great selection of all American food with huge portions. Mostly for the sides, which you should always go for the sweet potato hash browns that they are known for. I’ve ordered take-out twice now, and both times have been very pleased with the quality of the food. First time was a mushroom burger, medium rare that was just the right amount of juicy before getting too oily. The second time, I ordered the Greek omelette and added some sausage for only $ 1 more. THAT was the best no doubt. I was barely able to finish everything. The toast however was burnt and forgettable. Since it’s so close by to my apartment, I’ll be back again soon. I definitely think it’s a good spot to drop by if you’re around for some all American goodness.

I’ve been to this location a couple of times as well as one other location, but this experience has ruined all the other experiences I’ve had. My last visit to Hashbrowns was terrible. It was my friend’s birthday so we decided to eat here. We told our waitress about it and she said that she’d bring something out. She never did. She completely forgot. The place was loud and crowded, but my group really didn’t mind that. All of the seats were really close together. We had been seated in twenty minutes as promised and my group ordered right away since we’d been looking at the menu while we were waiting. We waited FOREVER for our food. I’ve never waited this long anywhere. If we hadn’t already ordered, we would’ve walked out. It was horrible because my friend had work and was running late. Brunch that should’ve taken half an hour turned into almost two hours! Not only that, but our waitress was RUDE. When we got there, we were as friendly as could be and ordered politely. We waited patiently to be seated and we waited super patiently for our food to arrive. Never once did our waitress check up on us and when we looked at her, she had this snarky look on her face like we were inconveniencing her or something! One of my friends finally raised her hand and asked why our food was taking long and the waitress told us the kitchen was backed up — we would’ve never known this if we hadn’t asked. The two parties seated next to us were seated after us, and they received their food before us! One group even was seated, received their food, and left before our food even came out! As soon as our food came out, our waitress didn’t even hand it to us in a nice manner — she practically just dropped our food in front of us. My friend had his utensils in the way, the waitress asked her to move it and before my friend could lift up her hand to move it, the waitress rudely just grabbed it and put it aside. She never even cracked a smile or asked how everything was. As soon as we saw her again, we asked for our check. It took us 1⁄5 of the time waiting for the food to actually eat it. The food is delicious as always. They make the best eggs benedicts I’ve ever had. I always get the Eggs Benedict Double Trouble. The Killer hashbrowns didn’t really do it for me this time, but they were still good. The only other thing is that it’s unreasonable expensive for beverages. A small glass of orange juice is $ 4. The food is what saved this experience for me. Other than that, I’d never come back to this location! I really want to remember the name of our waitress because I’ve never received such terrible service!

Good food, good atmosphere.(I don’t have a picture though). I had brunch with my friend. Their food comes in a big plate. The parking lot is right at the end of Maxwell. I came on a Thursday morning and left before 12pm and parking was free.

Hashbrowns was alright. Not the worst breakfast but definitely not the worst. They do need to work on their service. I understand at a busy restaurant it’s hard to keep track of all your guest but if I see someone just standing around while my glass of water is empty, it’s kind of frustrating. Had the egg Benedict with sweet potato hashbrowns. I thought the sweet hashbrowns were way too sweet and it mine was a bit oily too. The egg benedict was nothing out of the ordinary but the ham was a bit too salty for me.

On the plus side the food was good and portions were large. I tried the Oak Park omlette with rosemary hashbrowns and it was excellent. The toast is enormous also. Additionally, the tables were clean and the employees were friendly. Onto the negatives… Hope you don’t like personal space or room to breathe. Granted, we came on a Sunday but it was absolutely packed and the tables were ontop of each other. Also… And this is a little picky… But they spelled an item on their menu incorrectly… Unless these turkeys are Boilermakers from West Lafayette, Indiana… I’m pretty sure it should have been«Perdue Turkey» not«Purdue turkey». The food was good but I won’t be back, way too crowded for my taste.

The place was crowded with people but the wait time was very short. The service was good and got you everything you needed quickly and efficiently. I got the eggs Benedict double trouble and my boyfriend got a burger. The eggs Benedict was good but the meat inside was a little on the salty side. My boyfriend said his burger was really good and it’s what they are known for!

We decided to pop into this restaurant since our car was already parked in the free parking lot(free for the first 2.5 hours), and I was craving a delicious turkey burger. Even though the hostess wasn’t at the front as we were entering, we were greeted with a welcoming smile and two menus as soon as we walked through the second door leading into the restaurant. The staff moves quickly and I observed the same friendly treatment to everyone who came in. We were there for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was about half full. I imagine it gets pretty packed on a weekend, especially since it offers breakfast and lunch all day, anytime. The tables are close together, especially if you have a party of only 2. The kitchen is «open» so you can see what’s going on depending on where your table’s located. The food was delivered quickly and was good, nothing special but not bad. We had the Marty turkey burger(comes with the standard LTO, but you have to ask for cheese), with very bland and flavorless sweet potato fries; and the chicken breast sandwich(the first burger listed on the menu) with tasty hash browns. This restaurant offers call-in, take out orders and I saw a sign that it delivers. The breakfast items I saw being delivered to other tables looked divine! I’d certainly come again!
