History

Established in 2014.

In 1869 Humboldt Park was named for Alexander von Humboldt, a Prussian geographer and naturalist. Since then, it’s been home to thriving Danish, Norwegian, Polish, Jewish, and Italian communities. The 1950’s saw a massive migration of Puerto Ricans to the area from western neighborhoods. Many shades of bunting have colored the park’s footpaths, for sure. Fun, politics, and tumult have characterized these 207 acres over the years. Now we do, together. Let’s make some history– over a pint, of course. Welcome to h u m b l e b a r.

On 1÷16÷16 I attended an event. Upon my arrival the bartender «KiKi» was very rude! (After recognizing her face, It dawned on me that this was the same bartender who had served at a previous event on 12÷19÷14 at Humble Bar). As I approached the bar for a cocktail. She gave direct eye contact and turned her back for 5+ min! Then she came back and I asked if I could order a drink. To top it off, as I was conversing with friends at the bar, KiKi exited the bar and pushed me with her elbow! Absolutely rude! The bouncer Tay, came over and apologized for her behavior as he stated «that’s how she treats all customers, and they just made her manager.» Thankfully another bartender who was friendly was able to serve us appropriately. Overall, it’s a nice place to enjoy drinks with friends and dance but the owner of this establishment should highly consider replacing «KiKi» the crab!

All of the good reviews are from Unilocalers with less than 10 reviews. Odd. Patrons can be quite rude, and the bartenders have seemed to share the same attitude. I don’t hate this place, but it is so disappointing that it isn’t better. I went a couple times and would rather travel from the area than bring my business back.

I brought a meetup group here for a pub crawl and I have to say, setting it up with the employees here was fantastic! everyone I worked with was amazing! The drinks were great! Everyone was attentive! There’s an awesome patio and free pool!

I can’t give it less then one star. But if I could I would. This was my father’s experience:
We were led to the door by the owner after greeting friends to loudly. When we went by the bar to explain ourselves and make amends when the bartender tells us to shut our mouths. Never have I ever been disrespected in such a manner after spending good money at an establishment. Our family and friends involved won’t be going back.

We tried to have a drink at this place because it looked cool. They had a huge patio, dancing upstairs, and pool tables, ect., but the service was terrible. There was one bartender for the whole downstairs bar. When we came in it took her forever to even notice us. 20 min later she acknowledged us but didn’t take our order. We ended up leaving without buying anything and headed over to the boulevard bar instead.

Nice place but man the bartender was useless.
We sat at the bar, 5 minutes later she came by and said nothing, no acknowledgement, nothing, then walks away from us.
We were going to leave then BUT we decided to give her another shot since it was busy. Waited another 5+ minutes, she comes by again and the same thing happens. «F-​this man» we left, she didn’t seem to care. Music’s so loud you can’t even think anyways.
Don’t waste your time and money here.
We stopped in at the «Boulevard» down the street, cool bartender, nice place, bigger TV’s, and good seating!

This place is awful. Apparently my gringa money is not welcome here. I live across the street and was excited to see it open, have been multiple times but will not be going back. Owner has very strong anti gentrification feelings and is very vocal about it. He was against Riot Fest. Seems pretty stupid to me, since you are located across from the park. I won’t be spending money at an establishment that doesn’t welcome me or want my business.

Humble Bar is just that, Great Staff all the way up to ownership. Everyone in this place was having a good time!! Plasma TV’s surrounding the walls like art work. Just a Awesome atmosphere. Cheers

I love it here!!! I have been here a few times for different events.
it was the same outcome– Fun, good music, friendly staff and very diverse crowd.
You can come in with your sports gear and watch some games or come in with a nice little dress and dance the night away.
This is definitely my new «Go to bar».

Went there after the Nutcracker ballet (good.time), from up north, on my way home. People there were freindly, receptive, n fun… its a sports bar with some flavor. Hell they host teachers n other professionals to let their hair hang out… Check it out for urself.

Headed over here after an art gallery around the corner, and had a great time with the staff, family and friends. The drinks are strong, and the beer list has the usual suspects and a few craft beers for the connoisseurs. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area, and even if you’re not. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes for some late night salsa.

I love this place! What first caught my eye while driving by one day was their patio. A week later a group of us decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did. The staff Ary and Kiki are amazing they are very attentive, accommodating and sweet. After visiting a few times I decided to have my birthday party there and just recently hosted a luncheon in the sleek party room. If you are looking for a chill bar with great prices check this place out!!! The patio is great they have bags set up to play, a projector screen outside, and they grill hot dogs on game days for everyone.

This place has serious potential. The patio is spacious and with nice lighting and comfortable chairs. The bar are has big TVs lots of liquor bottles to entice you.
But there is not kitchen and no taps! I am draft beer drinker by trade, so no tap handles hurts my heart. The bartender however inspired confidence as he spoke of renovations including a forthcoming kitchen, a renovated upstairs area and some NFL sunday deals.
I would come back because of the relaxed atmosphere the easy and free street parking. Though I am not going to rush back until there are ample bar snacks!

Great place, stopped in here to watch the USA v. Germany game during the World Cup. The beer (I had Negra Modelo, the girlfriend had Corona and a friend had a local Chicago brew) was almost ridiculously cheap for imports and micro-​brews. The bartenders are really friendly and the clientele are friendly and talkative. They were just finishing remodeling the outside deck seating area when we were there (last time I drove by they were putting up a giant television for the deck area). They don’t serve food yet, but there are like 5 of the best Puerto Rican food trucks that I’ve ever been to right across the street and they let you bring it into the bar! In fact, they actively encourage it, even recommending what we should order. I would recommend this place as an after work spot with friends or to watch a game. Not sure what the night crowd is like as I left around 7 or 8.
