Established in 2014.
The Illinois Dermatology Institute– The Chicago Loop office was established in October 2014 with Dr. G. Michael Lewitt.
IDI was established in June of 2009. We are a collaboration of practicing dermatologists whose goal is to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services to our patients. Some of IDI’s core values include excellence, teamwork, compassion and family.
Presently, IDI consists of 9 practices, 18 physicians, and 5 physician assistants practicing out of 18 offices throughout Northern Illinois and Indiana.

Business Owner
G. Michael Lewitt, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who moved to the Chicago area in August 2013. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from a six-year program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, obtaining both his bachelor’s degree and medical doctorate by the age of 24. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio in 2010. Dr. Lewitt then moved to back to his hometown of St. Louis, where he completed his residency in dermatology at Saint Louis University in 2013, serving as chief resident during his final year of post-graduate training. Dr. Lewitt sees patients of all ages. He practices general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology including Botox and filler injections. He has special interests in treating complex psoriasis patients as well as identifying and treating dermatologic emergencies.
