Interior Dreams… I must have dreamt it ! And I must be the only client who fired David before he even started. I don’t live here full time and we set up a date for him to paint when I was in town again. He had already been to my place once before to see what the job entailed, but had to come back. I sent him an email and after not hearing from him for 3 days I called and asked if he still had me on the calendar. He said yes he did have me on the calendar. Why would it take someone three days to respond to a simple email? There was no I’m sorry, nothing.
I get to Chicago and sent him an email to set up a time for him to come over again to give me an estimate and to figure out how much paint, etc. He tells me that he has to leave town for 5 days and that it was unexpected and then throws the ball back into my court and asks me what he should do. Is this a boy or a man I am dealing with. It’s his business and he can’t figure out what to do? This isn’t rocket science. And this was just for another look at my place. I said, well, you are supposed to start on Monday to paint, so you tell me. He didn’t get back to me so I figured that he really didn’t know what to do and was waiting for me to tell him. I am not playing his game. He’s high maintenance and who needs that in a house painter. I stayed an extra week to get my apartment painted, but this didn’t seem to faze him in the least. Is that behavior called passive aggressive?
I found another painter and his clients LOVE him. He’s easy to talk with and very accommodating.
And I am not dreaming… this will be a reality. I can’t wait for my newly painted apartment.
To set the record straight, it was May, 2015 that we talked and set a definite date for August 24. My math tells me it was 4 months ago, not 8 AND I am here for WEEKS at a time, not days at a time and he knows this. I don’t suffer fools gladly and was more than fair with this guy.
I am ecstatic that I found someone else!

We are very happy with Interior Dreams. David is very nice and professional. He was flexible with the start time (we delayed start for many months after the estimate, due to our own scheduling problems). He has great attention to detail – removed all ceiling fixtures rather than just painting around them, fixed every little dent in the wall, and went back over the entire house at the end for minor touch-​ups. He went above and beyond to re-​hang our poorly hung cabinet, sand down and even out our poorly made banister, and move a large safe to paint the wall behind. He and his staff were kind and patient with our dogs and with all of our requests. We couldn’t be happier with the result!

Competitive pricing, David was pleasant to work with. Overall they did a good job but it took longer than expected and he had to come back a week or so later to finish.

Interior Dreams is the best! I manage a cat hospital in downtown Chicago, and we wanted to update the décor in the clinic. We started by getting some bids for painting the reception area and entry way. David with Interior Dreams gave me an estimate that was right in line with the estimates I received from other companies, but the reason we picked him was because he uses low or no voc paint and he expressed that this would be the safest for our kitty patients. I appreciated his concern for my clients and patients, as well as his kind nature. He was willing to work around our clinic’s hours and came in to paint after hours and on the weekends. We are thrilled with the way everything turned out, as are our clients and hopefully our feline patients, too! I am about to contact him for an estimate on the next phase of our clinic make-​over, and I highly recommend Interior Dreams to anyone and everyone!

I am thrilled with the beautiful place I came home to, today! We recently purchased a great condo, but the original paint job was awful… yolk yellow hallway, unpainted master bedroom… it wasn’t homey. But today I came home to a calm and beautiful home.
The attention to detail is great… the walls really look amazing and the trim and ceilings are perfect. And the place is pretty clean… I’ve head that it can be really messy and dusty after getting a place painted. Even the leftover cans of paint were labeled for us so we’d know what color went where, just in case and down the road. Very nice!
So, now I just hurry up and save to get the rest of this big place done! I will definitely be calling David to finish the place!

They did call me back eventually and apologized for missing the appointment and not returning my call. I’ll give them another star for at least trying.

David was fantastic during our remodel. We just finished and couldn’t be happier with the result. After coming out for a free estimate we were given a detailed quote including labor/​paint and anything extra like especially bad drywall spots that needed to be patched.
The trim was completed first (he was able to clean some of the stain left by the flooring guys). He was very patient while we picked our colors. We were even delayed a day because we picked a color for the bedroom that we ended up not liking after it was done. We knew that we would have to pay for the extra paint, but we wanted to be happy with our color! He was very understanding and told us it happens, and repainted the whole room. He completed numerous checks throughout the process to note any touch-​ups that needed to be complete. He even said that if we find any spots after he left, he’d come back to touch them up for free.
He showed up on time and was very personable and took great care of our place. I’ve never met a contractor that works as clean as David. At the end of each day everything was cleaned and all his gear was organized in a small corner of the room. His estimate of paint supply was great. We were left with extra paint for each room, which is exactly what we wanted. It always makes me feel better to have extra paint in case walls get dinged.

I could not be happier with David’s work! Everything looks fresh, clean and bright. We have always done all of our home renovations ourselves and were wary of hiring a painter, but time was tight and we needed help. I searched for a painter for about a week before finding Interior Dreams on Google and then on Unilocal.After reading David’s reviews, I contacted him for an estimate. He replied promptly and set up an appointment within the week. From day one he was friendly, communicative, helpful and knowledgeable. He was even patient and supportive when I showed «first time painter-​hirer» panic. He was never short with me and always responded helpfully. He made me feel absolutely confident that he had the project under control and that he would do work of a high standard. My confidence paid off: our condo looks beautiful.
David’s pricing is competitive, his work is impeccable and he and his crew are skilled and polite. We had some pretty major patching on the ceilings and walls that needed to be done and David repaired each area beautifully. Best of all, when David and his crew clean up at the end of the job, they really clean up well! My floors were freshly swept and mopped and I didn’t see a splatter of paint anywhere. I would definitely work with David and his crew again and would recommend them to anyone.

We hired Interior Dreams to paint a good portion of our new townhouse and I’m thrilled we did. As a first time homebuyer in Chicago, every single thing I’ve done in the past few months has been a «first» for me… and hiring a painter was no different. After some web research and careful consideration of Unilocal reviews, I decided to go with Interior Dreams. David and the crew (I feel horrible, but forgot all of their names, eek!) were so professional, talented and incredibly helpful. Our place looks great!

Dave did an amazing job! I had him paint the common area staircase of my condo complex. He was very easy to schedule a consultation with and always showed up on time to appointments. Additionally — he was very responsive over email. He’s a nice guy that genuinely cares about doing a good job. I would recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a painter for a large or small job.

I have hired David from Interior Dreams on several occasions and have meant to write this review. This guy is a quality painter. He takes his time and does a fantastic job. He’s there when he says he’ll be there, he does a great job, and he’s very clean and caring to make sure no paint anywhere but the walls. He gets the highest recommendation.

David does amazing, quality work and is such a pleasure to have in the home. Not only did he paint a massive portion of my home prior to me putting it on the market, he did a great job matching paint colors in order to have to paint everything, saving me a lot of money.
He showed up on time (even brought me coffee — come on! who does that?) every day and got through the job quickly. When my tenants created a big giant flood in the basement, he did a great job taking care of the problems, making sure it looked absolutely perfect.
He patched several holes in the wall to perfection, and even helped me hand a very heavy TV on the wall. I have recommended him to several people and will continue to use him for anything paint related.
David is a great guy and he’s super nice to my kids (who also think he’s great). You really can’t go wrong with Interior Dreams.

David worked around our crazy schedule to get our condo painted in a very short period of time. He stayed late and got the job done. His pricing was reasonable and would highly recommend him.

We have known David as a friend for years, but I had no idea that he owned his own painting company until we asked mutual friends to recommend a painter for our condo. Considering that I have always loved the house of the friends that referred David, I felt we would be in good hands, and we definitely were!
Our job was relatively straightforward, however our guest bath needed a little TLC on the wall where Scuba Steve tried to do a little patchwork from where a hole was left after a towel bar had been ripped out of the wall years before. David did an amazing job — you would never know there had been a hole in the wall! He also takes the time to fill in any little knicks/​dings/​holes that inevitably seem to show up in walls.
He is great about suggesting colors and giving information about how they would look when painted — he can also do finishes, etc. The quality job he does is truly second to none — even with tough colors like red and black.
Most importantly, David is also very honest with pricing — he is very reasonable and doesn’t hire farm out the work to someone else. While he may have people help him from time to time, he is always there to oversee the project and do the work himself too! We unfortunately went with a different company to paint the common areas of our condo, and it was a total rip-​off — he totally overcharged us, farmed the work out to 2 other guys, and they did a really crappy job. We would have used David but another member of the condo association was insistent that we use her friend — we’ll never make that mistake again!
David also did the paint job in my store, and I always get compliments about how good it looks! Considering that part of the job in my store was difficult, he did an amazing job.
As a satisfied two-​time (future 3-​time) client, I recommend David to everyone I know, and I also recommend him to my customers and clients — which for me says a lot about the quality of his work!

Absolutely fantastic painting job!
David did the work, 800 sq ft condo with 18 ft open loft style ceilings with exposed pipes to work around (so not an easy paint job) in my timeframe and it was impeccable! Everything just looks perfect. I’m especially impressed with how he was able to fix some pretty big holes I had in the wall from a large shelf I had hanging up to end up flawless as if there was never a hole there in the first place. Truly amazing!
Well-​priced and definitely worth the money than trying to paint it yourself.
