Meet the Business Owner

Joe P.

Business Owner

My career in Carpentry began in 1993. I joined Job Corps and started the pre-​apprenticeship program in Carpentry. When I completed I was placed in Carpenter’s Union Local 242, and as a 1^st year apprentice I started building single family homes and also was introduced to Commercial Construction (metal stud framing, drywall and drop ceilings) After learning how to be quite versatile in my abilities, I turned Journeyman in 1998.

Around 2001, I started non-​union jobs, High-​end home remodeling. This company was buying old apartment buildings and completely gutting them, installing all new windows, doors and all the trimmings that went into the job, new plumbing, electricity and carpentry. They were sold as High-​end Condo’s. That was a great exp, being part of the ‘A Team’.

I’ve done work on a movie set that was being filmed here in Chicago «Public Enemy» starring Johnny Depp! The most recent recession became impossible to find work w/​contractor, I have been working independtly ever sinc
