Super nice owner. Did an excellent job with small talk, really made me feel welcome Good service. Can be a little expensive but they did quality work in a reasonable amount of time. This place can clean my alcohol stained wedding clothes any day

This place is really expensive so I don’t use them as my regular dry cleaner. However, they are worth the price for specialty items — they cleaned my down coat when my regular cleaner wouldn’t, and they were able to get a water stain out of a silk blouse where others tried & failed. Okay, let’s be honest — it was a vodka stain. But Joy Cleaners got it out !

Joy Cleaners has never, ever let me down. Most recently I brought in two bright white polyester baseball jerseys to Joy. Both had deep, dark mustard stains over a month old on them. Joy got both stains out perfectly when I thought they were lost causes. Man behind the counter is always very friendly and will usually remember you by face. Couldn’t recommend them more.

My first Unilocal post, but taking the time to write this as they deserve it. Based on my dry cleaning services and coat repair experiences.
When I first moved downtown in Lakeview, there was a cleaners on every corner. literally. Out of the 4 places within a 2 block radius of my place off of Southport, I went into each, asked for pricing/​timing. Although they were 2^nd most expensive of the 4, they really earned my business with their customer service, quality of service, and respect (only .25 cents to .75 cents more per item of clothing for dry cleaning, so not destroying my wallet). The 2 closest to my place, which were cheaper and more convenient, didn’t show me any respect, and didn’t want anything to do with me. That was different at Joy Cleaners.
I’m in there about once a week, and the employees (I believe husband and wife, although not confirmed) remember my name and phone number and are very nice. They are able to complete orders promptly if required; when I leave in the morning, it will be available when I come home that same night, no extra charge, but will usually have no rush, which will take 2 – 3 days.
Overall, I would highly recommend them!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
After taking my two pairs of jeans into the cleaners to hem, they assured me they would replace the hem with the original hem. No problem they said.
Big problem.
I came to pick up the jeans and they did not replace the shortened jeans with the original hem. AND the jeans were too short! Now my brand new jeans were completely ruined.
They will not replace the jeans or reimburse me for the ruined items. I believe this is illegal and am looking into it.
The wife of the owner lied and pretended there was a miscommunication. There was no miscommunication. This is a cut and dry situation and I can not believe I am the first person to go in there to hem a pair of jeans.
I am appalled that a business owner would take advantage of someone who gave them 7+ years of business and will do nothing to rectify their wrong doing.
I will never go back there and I hope you think twice about letting them touch your clothing.

This place is great. I don’t even know how the price compares, but I’m very grateful to be able to walk down the block to them. They always remember our name and our clothes are always ready when they say they will be. I like supporting the local businesses as well who are still family run. Thanks Joy!

There are dry cleaners on every corner, but I go out of my own neightborhood to go to the family-​run Joy Cleaners on Southport. Although you may be able to find cheaper prices, they do a great job with dry cleaning and more importantly to me, have an excellent tailor! I need to have all my pants tailored and they do a fantastic job!

Love this place!
I got some pants altered here and they came out perfect. I tried them on the store, got measured, no muss, no fuss.
So much better than a lot of places I have been in the Southpot area.
