Any woman into couture need to have KM dresses in her closet. The clothes are beautiful, uniquely detailed and forever classic. I first discovered KM at Bloomingdales in Skokie, but they never had my size. Granted, the KM store never seems to have my size either — I’m a 12 — but they bend over backwards to find my size at another store. The shipping is usually free and I’ve gotten my dress within days.
For me, this by far the best designer I’ve ever worn. The clothes are flattering and I feel like I“m on top of the world when I wear it. Amazing designer!

I haven’t been downtown in a long time and needed a dress for a fundraising event and a wedding. I stopped at Bloomingdales and discovered Karen Millen dresses that I liked but were not suitable to me and then wandered the 900 shops only to come upon a Karen Millen store! Woohoo!
I decided to see what else she had to offer and much to my surprise this sales lady was friendly and helpful and not overly aggressive. She showed me dresses that were suitable to my taste and I am so thrilled with the choices she picked out for me to try.
I did find the perfect dress and can’t wait to check out more of this U.K. designer!

The clothes are beautiful, classical but unique. The sales staff is incredible. At least one of the women remembers my past purchases. Amazing and wonderful.

Gorgeous coats

I love this brand! The styles are unique, the colors are bold, and the material is high quality. I’ve bought several coats and dresses in addition to a few tops — they always receive compliments from passersby on the street. In my opinion, the true test for if a piece of item looks good is if strangers compliment the item. Friends are nice, and friends will be friends. Strangers, on the other hand, are not obligated to compliment. The clothes speak for themselves. The brand is pricey, but give the store a try during their end-​of-​season sales… the styles will never go out of fashion, so even if you were to buy something at the end-​of-​season sale this year, you can find solace in the fact that it’ll still be «in» 3 years from now.

Karen Millen — a glimpse of sunshine during a rainy weekend! I recently purchased the perfect dress for a charity event. The team has always been so generous with their time and advice. I got compliments all evening. The colors are so vibrant and bold — which is refreshing! I love KM!

Karen Millen is the love of my life, at least in terms of fashion. Like so many others I came to know the brand when living overseas and haven’t looked back since. This store is great, the sales staff is incredibly friendly and helpful — I always see Dema who really listens to what you’re looking for and/​or any other parameters you set. Prices are on the higher end but so is the quality. And hey, at least you’re not paying in pounds or euros!

This shop in the 900 Shops has really sophisticated and REALLY pretty dresses! Unfortunately, they’re at really sophisticated prices. But the showroom is laid out well, and the sales staff let me wander at my own pace. I saw at least three dresses I would have loved to try on. Definitely a place to save your paychecks up and splurge on that fabulous cocktail dress.

Ah Karen Millen. I’ve been in love with her shoe and clothing designs since I bought my first skirt in Ireland back in 2007. I still wear that skirt, by the way, and still get compliments. The designs are feminine, figure flattering, and a good number of items come in bright and beautiful colors. I love them.
You can imagine how thrilled I was when they finally put a store in Chicago. Of course, I went right over and bought some new dresses. Every time I go in, the sales ladies are sweet and helpful. Often suggesting items that I wouldn’t have picked out for myself and, if necessary, always willing to go above and beyond to find something in my size at another store and have it shipped right away. And when my luggage was lost forever, they helped me track down my receipts from previous purchases for reimbursement by the airlines.
Not only do they have great classic everyday items, they also have beautiful cocktail dresses. I can’t help myself, I find places to wear those dresses. Yep, I’m that overdressed girl you see having cocktails. Do you think I mind? Nope. You can’t wear a dress like that just once!
The items that I have bought have stood the test of time and, since the designs are classic and unique, I don’t anticipate that they will go out of style. Did I mention that I love this place?

The universe of my Unilocal followers who are also readers of the Shopaholic series (\sarcasm\sarcasm) are doubtless already familiar with Karen Millen, a primarily UK-​based brand. I was looking forward to KM’s opening in the 900 North Shops and had forgotten about it until recently when I stopped by, lured by the sale signs, in search of well-​tailored, yet feminine separates for an office holiday party. When I stepped over the threshold (I was only one of two people in the shop, perhaps my first to review designation is warranted) I was immediately pounced on by a saleswoman. I did not buy anything on this occasion, so I was not sure whether the floor staff worked on commission, but this appeared to be the case on this visit.
As to the clothes themselves, I tried on a number of options, many of which called to mind BCBG and Cache and seemed very *festive* (read: wardrobe malfunction at office party potential). I ended up walking out empty-​handed. Overall, the store is spacious. Even so, it seemed the racks were closely packed and not really organized in any discernible way, with office, casual, and going-​out looks intermingled. It would have been nice to have seen more accessories on display, as KM is known for bags, shoes, and other accents, but I honestly can’t remember any standouts in the accessories department. The selections looked better on line, but I felt the price points were unwarranted given the level of workmanship. There seemed to be some cute coats on sale, more fashion-​forward than functional. If there is a good enough sale, I might come back, but I am reluctant to pay full price for any of the goods that I saw or tried on.
