Kokorokoko is the best of the best vintage in Chicago.
Seriously, I absolutely love this place! Every time I come in, I am tempted by something: a colorful 80s crop top, a 90s Bulls jersey, a floral romper, a funky oversized sweater… the list goes on and on… My latest find was a purple jumpsuit on sale for Halloween!
Sure, the clothes here is more expensive than a thrift store. But the staff has done the sifting for you, and curated this fantastic selection of unique and great-​condition items.
The staff is very friendly, and very nice about suggesting ways to style an item or recommending other pieces.
Kokorokoko is awesome! It’s a must-​visit for lovers of 80s and 90s fashion!

Went back home for the holiday season and had an awful experience. People at the front were incredibly rude and not welcoming by any means. As someone who works in customer service I was not happy with treatment I received. I would not recommend this place unless you want to deal with disrespectful people.

Absolutely amazing store. You can tell they really go through what is in their merchandise to make sure it’s fitting. Beautiful clothing and accessories. Tons of fun to go through!
4 stars because prices are a little bit higher then I’d like to pay for a thrift store.

This place is awesome, so fun walking in and just looking around at everything they have, its always changing, they have cool Blackhawks gear from the 90’s and 80s you wouldnt really find anywhere else. The space is really well designed also, and there are nice people working there. Ross and Sasha are very cool and can help you find anything you might be looking for.

This is now one of my favorite vintage shops! I stopped in today and spent nearly two hours trying on pieces and taking pictures in the mirror !.. It has any and everything you could think of from the 80’s and 90’s. Great customer service ! Stop in, you definitely won’t regret it !

A bunch of 90s crap I loved as I grew up. Jackets and sweaters of the bulls and other teams that are like $ 10 out of my price range. Actually, so much of the store is like, damn I wish I made $ 10 dollars a day more to buy this. I would love to be able to afford a lot of this shtuff. But I cannot. Sadly, I mainly go there for the sports memorabilia which there is a lot of, but it distracts from any gems that i’m probably missing.

Love love love this place. If you ever need a small gift or awesome eclectic vintage things — come here! The owner is super nice and helpful.

Cute store. Better for ‘vintage’ 1960s style stuff. Being a child of the ‘60s, I forget that this is vintage to most folks! I really did like the store, but did not buy anything as I was looking for something quite different that day. I will return, however.

This place shines brighter than a drag queens foundation under the spotlight and represents what we’re losing in our culture (mainly, a culture).
And they have more than just clothing, honey! There are enough shoes and accessories to (glamorously) choke a horse.
The owners are the cherry on top of this rich and fabulous cheesecake of a store. They’re super friendly and helpful, and I have never had a bad experience here. To quote my fashionisto friend — «Sasha even farted once but I STILL bought the earrings!»

I mainly like to go in here for style reasons. I love 90s styled clothing because it reminds me of when I was nine watching Clarissa Explains it All. Only problem is it’s way too expensive, and most of the clothes are aimed at the skinny hipster girls in the neighborhood. It’s kind of weird… who would pay 30 dollars for a shirt you can find at an actual thrift store for three or five bucks? Rich, hipsters spending their parents money, that’s who. And, also, if you’re going to sell things in a store, it’s probably a better idea to try to cater to EVERYONE of ALL SIZES. I thumbed through every rack they had and all their skirts and dresses were a size 0 – 3. And the same goes for their tiny, overly priced «vintage» shirts. I spend a lot of time in thrift stores, not because it’s trendy, but because I’m broke and my mother taught me the art of thrifting and saving money (and basically living as economically as I can), and I seriously think if you have cash to blow on over priced clothing items, this is your new favorite spot.

CONS: The prices are too high. Probably would have bought a few things had the price been decent. Quality wasn’t there either.
They have a 10% discount if you check in. Prices were still too high for me though for used items.

I was in Chicago for a long weekend on a girls trip and decided to go off by myself for a little vintage/​thrift shopping. I just so happened to stumble across this gem thanks to the great reviews on Unilocal and figured I had to stop in.
This is by far the best vintage shop I’ve ever been to. Most «vintage» places in my area are just a bunch of polyester and floral print, but this place had a fantastic selection of t-​shirts, jackets, shoes, purses, sunglasses… really anything you could think of. It is all well organized and clean. I got a sweet leather map printed bag for $ 22 – I’ve had it less than a week and have already gotten tons of compliments. My only complaint is that it is a little pricey – come on, $ 28 for a tshirt? But lets be honest, I’m probably going to pay it anyway.

Not sure why this store has good reviews. The clothes are ugly and seriously overpriced. I give it two stars for the the cleanliness and location. Other than that it’s a bit of a sad excuse for a clothing store.

First off, the name is the bomb!
We were in Wicker Park going from one resale/​vintage store to another and was not really impressed. We had a friend that was visiting from out of town that told us his friend recommended Kokorokoko in Ukranian Village. It was a pretty good trek all the way there but it was definitely worth the distance!
I walked through the white wooden door and this place immediately took me back. I saw a rack of snapbacks right away (I am a BIG sucker for hats) and copped a Chicago Bulls 3-​peat for only $ 10! I loved the ambience of the store. They were playing great house music! I saw hammer pants galore and peeped out vhs tapes of MTV grind (you know this show if you’re a 90’s kid).
I go to the back of the store (it’s a little cozy store) and saw racks of windbreaker jackets and sweaters. First think I saw was this huge poster of Prince with his jewels covered up by some skimpy speedo. B.U.M. equipment? Man I am totally reminiscing.
I found two jackets that I fell in love with. I found a Cubs Starter windbreaker that was only going for $ 33, but then I found a Members Only jacket for $ 26. I ended up picking the Members Only cuz the Fiancé liked it better and it was more versatile.
I went to pay for my items and I guess the Members Only jacket was priced wrong. I saw the same jacket in black priced at $ 33, but they still honored the $ 26 which I thought was really cool. I am a Unilocal newbie so I am in this check-​in on my mobile phone crazy mode. I checked in and there was a special check in for 10% off your purchase which I thought was really cool because that had never happened before and the lady at the register (Sasha, one of the owners) was really excited about it too! She said that no one ever uses it, so that made me feel special as well.
I definitely had an amazing experience at this store and highly highly recommend this place to anyone that loves to go vintage shopping. These guys go out and hand pick their findings, so what you get is unique. The prices are very fair and the store is well put together.
Anyone that hates on the store must be uptight, so go bring your first world problems elsewhere.

Any true vintage shopper can appreciate this place. Guaranteed. Walk up and down Milwaukee in Wicker Park and tell me that you can find a better store with better prices and better quality. You won’t… I’ve done it. We had spent the entire morning in Wicker Park scouring the aisles of Buffalo Exchange, N&D and Crossroads looking for solid finds for reasonable prices. Needless to say, it was a wasted afternoon. We had about two hours before I had to work and we decided to hike on over to ukranian village to see what this place was about.
Man, were we glad we did! Often times even at regular retail shops I have a hard time finding one complete outfit. I purchased this beautiful vintage lace top with these old school high-​waisted polkadot capri’s from Gap, circa 1990. My fiancé left with a Members Only jacket at the low price of $ 26 and a «three-​peat champions» Chicago Bulls snap-​back hat. Holy amazing.
Unlike the other stores we had been to, the owner here hand picks all of the items in her store. So instead of charging people $ 500 for something that grandma had in her closet, this place takes great pride in finding quality wearable pieces. Had such an amazing experience here and can’t wait to go back. Until we meet again Kokorokoko… sigh…

I don’t get the hype. I’m a thritfy girl. I rarely buy anything full price. I scour sales. I love vintage stores. Cheap, cute finds at amazing prices. But I was not impressed with Kokorokoko. The décor is kitchsy, very cool, but I was turned off once I walked in. It smelled like Salvation Army, the goods looked like Salvation Army goods, but the price tags were not Salvation Army prices.
$ 16 dollars for a necklace? $ 22 for a tank top? $ 30 for a pair of shoes? (adorable yes, but they’ve been around the block a time or three)
I’m sorry, but if I’m spending over $ 20 on a shirt, it better not look worn and torn. I love vintage, but I don’t dig dirty, scuffed or well worn clothes.
I can find great deals at retail stores for these prices.

I don’t think that selling shoes and boots you’ve CLEARLY bought from Village Discount Outlet and reselling them for $ 60-​$ 70 is awesome though. They are used. Very well used. And I understand they are leather, but you still got them from a thrift store for $ 3. :/
