Lake Point Spa by The Image Consulting Company

Myself and three of my friends went for a makeup class here and I have to say that Gina (the manager & makeup artist) is AMAZING and a fabulous teacher! Yes, I’ll agree that the parking isn’t ideal, but what do you expect… it’s a Lake Shore Point address! I expected to pay for parking, but actually managed to find free street parking only a block away, so for me it was win, win!
Now about the makeup class… it was very well organized, the place is perfect, bright and modern and Gina really provided all of us with a good base of instruction on how to beautify ourselves, find our colors, what colors work best with our natural tones, etc. My one friend thought she knew it all, but walked away corrected and that was worth every dime we spent on the class! Ha ha ha! The tips and tricks Gina gave us were great… her knowledge base is really solid! We all liked her alot and thought she was really fun/​funny!
As for the the previous review about them trying to sell you the makeup line they use (Youngblood)…we did not have that issue at all, they didn’t try to sell us anything! However, I did LOVE the YB makeup and definitely plan on purchasing some of the items that were mind-​blowing to me –like the brow kit & the natural mineral foundation (who knew loose powder provided the best coverage… I’m a BELIEVER NOW)!
I highly recommend Gina and Lake Point Spa to anyone looking for makeup instruction/​certification! It was a great time and it gave me more confidence in my makeup application! Thank you, Gina!!! We’ll be back for the Certification Class!

Um, hello? I won a $ 250 gift package at a fiat event and I was told after 2 weeks, I would get an email with a link to a website that would show me all 500 outfits that would suit me blahblahblah. Is it because I won that I haven’t recieved any email whatsoever? And why you guys have literally dropped from the face of the earth when I want my email link? If so, then for shame on your company and thank you for the waste of time.

The major downside was that I had to pay $ 28 in parking for 2 hours.
I took a make-​up class, it was $ 90 for two people. The girl who taught the class was really nice and funny. However, I didn’t realize when I paid for the class, that really they are trying to sell you their line of make-​up called young blood. It is really nice make-​up but really pricey.
I felt a little deceived, as I could have gotten almost the exact same thing at the mall for free. The only thing that really made me give this 3 stars instead of 2 was the girl teaching the class. I’ll admit there were a few new things here and there that I learned but it definitely not worth the money.
I did end up buying 2 products that I wanted to try. The girl ended up giving me one of the wrong products and I did not notice until I got home. I have been too busy return, and since there really isn’t convenient parking or an El stop near by, I’m not sure when I will be able to.
Also to add to my pain, I went out to a show recently and the spa was there. They were giving away the make up class for free if you gave them your e-​mail…
The spa itself looks really nice and they offer some unique services, so it might be worth a try. The prices on the other services seem standard. I just was not impressed.

Loved how I was treated — from the receptionist to the stylist! Kristen was ready as soon as I arrived — NO WAITING — and she finished right on schedule. More importantly, the haircut was the best I’ve had in a long time. Didn’t need the second cut for almost 3 mos.
Can’t wait to try their other services.
Liked the clean, peaceful atmosphere, too.

This place is amazing! When I first walked in I noticed how bright and clean the décor is. I also have to mention their impeccable customer service. I was referred by a friend that said they have the best manicurist there. When I called to make the appointment Gina was so friendly on the phone. She informed me about facial promotion that they are offering new clients. I agreed to come in for a manicure and express facial. Wow! I left with so much more. I did get an awesome manicure and definitely one of the best facials I’ve ever had. My skin was glowing for days. I also bought a couple glotherapeutics skin care products and I love them. They smell and feel so good and were very reasonably priced. After I finished my services I was greeted by Lula the owner who is an image consultant. She gave me some great tips on accessories and showed me two new ways to wear a scarf. She then touched me up with some makeup and I left feeling like new. I highly recommend Lake Point Spa and have told all my friends to check it out. I will definitely be back:)
