My mother was in Lakeview Nursing twice-once in 2004 for rehab and agin 2011. I want to say the nursing staff is great. Really caring people about giving care to the residents there. They stay in touch with you and let you know about your loved one in their care is doing. I hope they are still around when my time comes for a nursing home – I sure would want to be placed there. It is always so clean .The office staff is so easy to talk to and help you in any way they can. Bless all of you at Lakeview.

Lakeview Nursing & Rehab Center is a medium-size care facility on Diversey near Clark St. We had an elderly Aunt there after a very bad experience at a place called The Imperial, and found Lakeview to be excellent. The Lakeview staff all shared a strong expectation that patients would be up and about, would interact, and would get better: a very positive and healthy atmosphere. Even within the constraints of Medicare they tried hard to get our Aunt a single room, and were very respectful of her privacy. Unlike The Imperial, where my Aunt was treated like an object in a warehouse, the Lakeview staff were genuinely interested in her as a person. My Aunt, who could be difficult, responded to this attitude wonderfully. The clinical care was top-notch, communication with me was very good, and the physical facility itself was pleasant, clean and as welcoming as could be expected for a nursing environment. My Aunt needed lots of physical therapy, and the therapy she received at Lakeview was outstanding. She improved dramatically over her time there, in part due to the enthusiasm, patience and energy of the physical therapists. As a frequent visitor I got to know some of the staff, and they always welcomed and encouraged my visits in a way that made caring for my Aunt a much more positive experience than it could have been. Lakeview should be your first choice if you are looking for a longer-term care environment.
