History
Established in 1995.
Lapin Systems, Inc. was founded by Roger Knuth, a former marketing executive who was fascinated by the earliest personal computing devices, including the Apple II. As a buyer of the first Macintosh 128k model, he saw the future of computing and wanted to be a part of it. When the opportunity presented itself he founded Lapin Systems, working out of his house, and started running a small local newpaper ad offering to fix Macintosh computers. Fortunately, he discovered he actually could fix them. Within a year he was buried with repair work and had to make a decision whether to limit the number of customers he serviced or to find other Mac lovers to help him grow the business. He chose the latter course and Lapin has grown to become a leader in the Mac support community in Chicago, with multiple Apple certifications and authorizations, and a strong reputation for the highest ethical and repair standards.
