Laurie was a blessing in disguise; I found her on Zillow shortly after parting ways with another realtor from Berkshire Hathaway who was only thinking about getting a commission on my home purchase. Please see my approved ZIllow review below, thank you again Laurie!
Let me just begin by saying that Laurie was truly an outstanding agent to work with. My condo search began in the beginning of July with an associate from Berkshire Hathaway who had less than a year experience. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and enduring one of the most painful experiences from a customer service perspective, and overall process of searching and negotiating.
I was able to connect with Laurie through Zillow in mid-​October, and was able to close on a wonderful 1BR condo in River North several days ago. It’s everything I was looking for in a home; great amenities, perfect location, and was able to negotiate a fantastic price. I’m sure many others have already mentioned this in prior reviews, but I never felt pressured or rushed whatsoever, which was the primary concern in dealing with my last agent. She demonstrates a high level of professionalism and is very attentive to the client’s needs. I can’t thank her enough for making the process incredibly smooth; she also recommended Sam Sharp from Guaranteed Rate as a lender and he was very quick to process all paperwork and get my loan processed quickly during closing. Thank you again, Laurie! I can’t wait to do business with you again, and will be sending my referrals your way.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Laurie Jacobs! She has gone above and beyond too many times to count! She is so thoughtful, reliable, helpful, patient, extremely hard working and supportive. She is very responsive no matter what time day or night. I know I can always count on her and she has excellent customer service skills. She knows how to get things done! She always makes me feel better whenever I am worried and asking 1000 questions. I love working with Laurie so much! I HIGHLY recommend her as a wonderful Real Estate agent, you will not be sorry! When I first moved to Chicago, I had plans of renting for 1 – 2 years while scoping out the best areas to purchase a condo. My first course of action was to hop on Craigslist and check out apartments for rent. I went to several showings with multiple agents and it was blatantly obvious they were all after a quick paycheck. I don’t blame them for being so, I’m just stating the nature of the business.
That’s when I came across Laurie. After discussing wants/​needs in a rental unit, it was evident she was actually listening to my likes/​dislikes while providing the information of market realities. She spent a couple of weeks guiding me towards what was best.
When it came time to purchase a year later, I knew I had already met the right agent to help me buy a condo. I remembered how genuine and hard-​working she was, and that was just from the rental search. Throughout the buying process, I was not disappointed. (And let me add — my family is NOT a typical client. She held our hand and walked us through a long, 8 month searching+buying process.) She is simply incredible.
In summary, I would STRONGLY recommend Laurie to anyone in the market for a realtor (In fact, I’ve already recommended my girlfriend and a couple of friends families). She absolutely treats her clients like a family member. 100% genuine human being. It’s very cliché, I know, but there is no doubt she gets satisfaction from her clients making the best decisions.

Our previous realtor was terrible – after we fired him, we hired Laurie and she was fantastic! We moved out of state, and were trying to sell or lease our house in Illinois. Our previous realtor had our house on the market for 5 months during peak season without even one promising prospect. We hired Laurie and had our house leased ABOVE asking price within 3 weeks – we signed the papers on Christmas Eve!

I met Laurie in my southloop neighborhood and I knew immediately I wanted her as my Realtor. Being a first time home buyer, I wanted someone I could trust and wouldn’t push me into anything. Laurie really cared; she made herself very available to go on showing and was always sending me new listings. She understood my taste, my budget, and my «must haves». She has good connections in the industry and recommended a great broker, attorney and inspector (but never pushed anything on me). Laurie was able to explain each step of the process and was extremely patient and understanding at every turn. Laurie could also be very assertive to other realtors and worked hard to make sure my concerns were addressed. On the day of my closing I walked away with a beautiful condo, gifts from Laurie, and a friend!
