Lido Banquets

Ive lived down the street from the lido for 14 years so when i got my invite to go here it was a no brainer i would just see it as passing by it but when i arrived i was blown away with size of the space and how nice it looks inside the staff WOW they where on point all night right up to midnight and we got there at 5pm some places the staff disappear after the food is handed out they brought the food asked if we needed more or anything the bartender was great at times he was swamped but he handled it all with a smile every single employee from management to waitresses where very very attentive and outgoing and respectful and professional the food was good hot and large portions glad i got a chance to come here great memories and i was only a guest not the bride and groom

We recently held our wedding reception for 180 guests at The Lido and were happy with our choice. Before booking we visited about a dozen banquet halls and restaurants in our moderate price range, and The Lido was the nicest looking one in terms of layout, drapes, carpeting, etc. The tables, chairs, and centerpieces all were beautiful on our big day. Joanna, the manager, did an excellent job of presenting to us all the options and choices and then actually staging the event. She was also firm but fair in terms of negotiating with us on prices. About half our guests were of Polish heritage so we selected one of the Polish menu packages. From the feedback I received, everybody enjoyed the food and drink and was satisfied with the wait staff and bartenders. Parking was plentiful, and The Lido provided a coat check service.

I had my wedding here Aug. 10, 2014. The food and service was fantastic! I had a wonderful time! My guest gave great compliments on the food and cocktails! The décor they provide was also great! Thank you, Lido for making me and my husbands night a memorable one!

My wife and I recently had our reception here. It was pretty solid reception. We were on a budget, and to be honest, this place gives you the best bang for your buck in the Chicago-​land area. Furthermore, Peter (the owner) is really easy to work with and very accommodating.
We really appreciated the flexibility of not locking in our count to him until a week before the wedding! We also had an OK food tasting, but the day of the wedding… the food was really great (not sure what changed, but it was 100 times better).
We did have some issues with their bakery where they outsource the cake. Peter was very apologetic for the way Sugar Hill Bakery was mistreating us, but nothing came out of it (i.e. no acknowledgement/​apology from the bakery). This is the only reason I am not giving Lido’s 5-​stars.
Overall, a really solid establishment. It really hit our sweet spot on budget, food, service, and accommodation. Would recommend you put this on your list to check it out!

Went to a wedding here and it was pretty dang good — a welcome surprise! Appears to be newly updated. Great staff, super nice bartenders.

This banquet hall is worth every penny. My wedding was on 5÷19÷2012 and i still have some guest talking about how good the food and service was! And how beautiful the hall was decorated.
I worked with Peter and he just went above and beyond. He makes you feel like you are the only wedding or event that he has. The day of the wedding, the bar tenders were so much fun and extreamly sweet! I was told by some guests that the servers were like nothing they have ever experienced at a wedding before, because they were always available and very nice. The server I had for the head table was always around when i needed her and she was also so very sweet. I am so happy that i had my wedding reception at the Lido banquets. Great food, amazing service, and a beautiful hall.

If any one want to do there wedding or another occasion so We definitely You need go there! We have such a great time and Peter was care about everything in a front to make it happen and our wedding was beautiful, yes we know this is only 2^nd part from Church and photo shoot, but we don’t need to think about anything, hmmm only to collect the money for our wedding:] any problem or questions You can call to Peter and You have quick answer:)!!
Food and service was very good special food, but You know then You always don’t want to see at that magic day and it was only information from Pet, then He has only Banquets Hall not a restaurant because We will be many times in the year!! That’s all if You need any proof then ask me and find me on a face book and You will see all on the pics:]!!A+++++5*****

First I want to thank Peter the owner for everything and his kindness!
This place is excellent and great for events. Peter is understanding and kind at all times. He doesn’t try to drain you out of your money either. I had my wedding reception here in April of this year and when I walked into the room I was speechless. My husband and I were very please with the way ever thing looked. We were also very pleased with all the great service (beginning to end). Waiters and bartenders were very friendly. The food was great! I didn’t hear any complains from our guest.
This place is a must see and try out. Excellent place, excellent service and excellent food. Also, the price is very reasonable!

We had our wedding at Lido Banquets on September 18, 2009. It was the perfect event. The food was awesome. The service was great and the sweet table was a big hit with the guests. I am so glad we chose Lido for our wedding. The place is beautiful and we made wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. We hope to book another event in the future. Thank you Peter and Mary for a great night!!!

Held a corporate Holiday Party here — it was a great success! The staff at Lido is what makes it so awesome, but their food will no dissapoint! I would definitely return!

We attended a wedding May 23^rd and I just wanted to leave a review and let you all at the Lido know how beautiful the hall was and the food was just amazing, the chicken was a huge hit, my compliments to the chef! We had a great time, I look forward to move events at the Lido !

I can’t be any more happy that we went with Lido. Lido is a Polish banquet hall known for great service and amazing food and boy oh boy did they deliver!
From the time we met Peter, the owner, we knew we were in good hands. He was knowledgable, accomodating, helpful and always available to answer any questions we had. We made our own package that included, champage greeting, hor doeurves, linens, chair sashes, silverware, sweet table, cake, 7 course dinner, late night snack, wine on all tables and open bar.
Peter called me the week of the wedding to confirm the cake, menu and guest count. We went and dropped some boxes off for set up. Peter said they can set up whatever we want. I had some linens I bought, and of course all the décor. By the time DOC got to reception Lido did all the set ups including centerpieces in an effort to help my aunt the florist make the ceremony on time. Everything looked beautiful and just the way I wanted it to look. With DOC’s supervision my dream set ups came true. Food was amazing. We had lemon butter chicken that everyone LOVED, beef au jus, vesuvio potatos that were to die for and I ate a lot of, russian pierogi, salad, soup, cucumbers with sour cream and dill and green beans almondine. Our guests raved about the hor deourves that consisted of rolled sandwiches, chichen fingers (YUMO) and super fresh bruschetta. There were drinks and champage on all tables. After dinner they set up the «sweedish table» consisting of the sweet table and late night snack which included various salads, meats, breads, fruit, veggies and dip.
They packed leftover fruit and sweet table for us to take home, which was a great snack Sunday morning before we left for our mini moon. The staff was amazing and the head waitress went above and beyond to make us happy, fetching whatever we requested. I felt taken care of and my guests raved about food, décor and service. The bar tender was super sweet and made drinks FAST!
One of the things I was most excited about and people are still raving about was the cake and cake set up. Lido works with the amazing Oakmill bakery where we got to pick the cake we wanted. Lido set the cake in front of the head table and it looked amazing.
I highly recommend them and would use them for another event in a heart beat!!!

I had my wedding reception here in August. From the moment I walked in the first time, the owner Peter is great!!! He was friendly, showed us the hall, even took us into the kitchen. I had gone to soo many banquet halls and no one treated me as if I was paying them for my event. They treated me like I was waisting their time. When I chose the Lido he helped me every step of the way. Never tried to get me to add on things, just to make the money. He always thought of me. Was very patient with Bridezilla. The day of my wedding everything was in order, nothing went wrong. Everyone is still talking about the great food, great and pleasant waitresses. Beautiful decorations, and they never did anything without asking. It wasn’t like other halls that the owners are standing there to watch the party. They give you space. If I was to have another party I would not think twice LIDO is my #1 choice.

I must concur with the other reviewers. I’ve attended many banquets at Lido over the years and also helped plan a family anniversary party here. The food and personal service were excellent. They accommodated all of our needs. The smaller (but not too small) size did contribute to the warmth of our celebration.

Excellent place and great food for any event in Chicago. I had great time while wedding reception in August. Highly recommended. This is #1 Chicago Banquet.
