I went to Lindo after picking up a friend at the airport. He was starving and it was 11pm. This was the only place that I knew was open late in my new neighborhood. The Unilocal 2-star description fits it perfectly, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» It was more than edible and filled our bellies but it just wasn’t that great. We both ordered tacos that were a little bland. The salsa, the standard by which I judge my Mexican food, wasn’t that great either. Will I go back? Maybe if it is late and I’m already nearby. Will I go out of my way? Probably not.

Service wasn’t friendly, didn’t even get a thank you when I paid or when I was handed my order. Very lackluster burrito, no flavor, nothing interesting about it, and they didn’t even put the right ingredients in, no sour cream, no cheese, no onion. But what the heck? Burritos aren’t supposed to be THAT interesting, so I’ll try to put some salsa on to spice it up. NO! The salsa cups are bulging with gas and about to burst from the microorganisms(germs) inside that have been producing gas from their metabolism. Yuck and no thanks! I will not be back unless I feel the need for a colon cleanse, the hard way.

This taqueria exists so that you don’t end up at St. Boniface Cemetery(or pass out in front of Aragon Ballroom) across the street after hard-core partying and excessive drinking. Well, Rosa J. simply just got off work. At 2030 hour on a Sunday, take-out or dine-in food options are relatively limited. Lindo Guadalajara, located on the southeast corner of Clark and Lawrence, serves whoever is in need, 24⁄7. I just wanted my menudo fix since it was the weekend. However, Lindo Guadalajara might have menudo and pozole because I didn’t see«solo fines de semana» on the menu. Any validation? Has anyone ordered a bowl of menudo or pozole on a weekday before? If the answer is affirmative, it can be a game-changer and Rosa J. can die happy by having menudo everyday! Otherwise, Lindo Guadalajara wouldn’t be my top choice among many Mexican restaurants in the city. Except their horchata, it was quite delicious and had a good balance of sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Their torta de carne asada was offered in a «kiddie» size. Come on! I have had twice of the size at a taqueria inside the supermercato for the same or a similar price. My menudo($ 8.50) wasn’t anything extraordinary. Why does the north-side Chicago like to jack up the price for a bowl of menudo? They do have a minimum cap for a credit card purchase: $ 7 with a valid photo ID. Order a torta and a small horchata, then that requirement is met. Our total was $ 20 before tip. I will probably be back because there’s no block-out hours, yet it’s really for this reason alone!

Not the best but the only thing open near navy pier after coming home from the club. i would never come back. I’ve had better. I would wait for Los Potrillos to Open to eat Mexican food. If you are looking for a 24hr venue, I suppose this will have to do

Lindo Guadalajara has become my go-to late-night Mexican place on the north side of the city. This place is 24-hours, so do yourself a favor and come here after a concert at the Aragon or Riviera instead of that horrid(but only conveniently located) Fiesta Mexicana place. I always order an horchata, which is some of the best I’ve had. My standards for tacos, lengua and tripe, are both great — texture and taste-wise(it’s important for my tongue and stomach meats to maintain a certain chewy but not overly chewy consistency!). The al pastor is also amazing. I love love love the soups as well, especially the pozole and the menudo, which both come with hefty servings of fresh toppings! The food comes out quickly, but the staff let you stay as long as you want, which is a nice change. My friends and I usually come here and stay for hours just chatting and catching up! Love love love this place!

I recently moved to the area and have found it difficult to find quality food. I don’t think I’m overly picky, I define quality simply as 1. fresh and 2. tasty I’ve been asking friends to recommend places and I heard of this place so I gave it a shot… It was 1am and I’m hungry. I walk in, there’s a table of 3 and 3 other patrons so it’s looking good at this point. There appears to be only one woman working alone up front. It takes her longer to attend to me than it would have taken me to drive the extra trip to actual steak tacos.
Horchata: fake powder stuff, not real rice stuff Salsa: watery Chips: commercial grade, straight out of the bag It’s now north of 1:30 and the tacos are coming my waayyy so I’m stoked because I feel like a starved subject in a Pavlov experiment. I started with the al pastor, which was not bad. Rather monotone, lacked complexity. Then I took a bite of the steak which didn’t seem to be seasoned at all. Very grey taste, other than the vegetables and attempted salsa. I couldn’t stomach 2 bites before my curiosity overcame my hunger and I fully inspected the ingredients. Old and overcooked, Nothing more than ground beef and some fat chunks, even had a nice hard piece of cartilage(which I’m super glad I didn’t bite.) disgusted for what passes for food around here. I set the plate on the edge of the table and waited another good while for service. Once the server arrived she asked if I needed anything else. Clearly being passive about all of the food left on the plate. I was clear at voicing my opinion of the quality of the food; inedible. She then tries to convince me that the food is good enough for her kids, which is her prerogative. Poor kids. I didn’t eat half of that filth, while really hungry. She removes the plate and comes back with a bill for everything. The least she could have done was deducted a taco. A tip for all of you steak lovers… Real steak never comes minced or diced. I feel like this place thrives off of feeding trash to drunks in the wee hours for a huge markup. Conclusion: terrible service, food even worse. Next time you’re in there I suggest you open your taco, torta, burrito or what-have-you and try not to cringe. I would rather have been a Pavlov dog. They ate better. I mean c’mon their mouths were watering. Nothing like that to be found here. Sad. I’ve had better tacos in Middle America. Not like Central America. Like Springdale, Arkansas. Sad.

Hands down one of the best late night Mexican places in Uptown. Super friendly and super fast, they are the place to stop in the way home. Any combo is delicious and they’re open 24 hours for that middle of the night or middle of the day craving. Don’t forget a horchara.

This is my new favorite dive! I had the combination fajita platter. The portion was generous and the flavors were great(for the type of restaurant this place is); I especially loved that they included avocado as a part of the meal. Mmm. They also have generous GOOD ice cream scoops for $ 1.5 I am both happy and nervous about knowing that this place is 24 hours and a quick trip from my house.

Wow, what a great experience. We got Fajitas combination… shrimp, steak, chicken. Great flavor, hot skillet, big portion. Chips and salsa were served so crispy and fresh. The place was very clean and our server — what a joy!!! She greeted us with a big smile and made us feel like home. I strongly recommend. 5 stars!!!

This has to be one of my favorite places in Ravenswood/Uptown! From their friendly staff to their extremely quick service they are outstanding. I highly recommend their quesadilla dinner or their carne asada burritos!

After a ½ combination of a Billy Idol concert at the Riviera and then jazz at Green Mill, we were ready for something to help balance out the booze we consumed the past 5 hours. Lindo delivers. Open 24/7, the restaurant is clean and well lit. My girlfriend ordered the queso fundido with chorizo and a taco al pastor. I opted for the taco dinner(tongue, pastor, chorizo) served with rice and beans. Stuffed with their respective meats and served simply with onions and cilantro, the tacos were delicious. I was really impressed with the tongue. It was tender yet not mushy as I have had in other places. My girlfriend’s fundido was more chorizo than queso but with extra chips, it definitely hit the spot. After gorging, we left full and a little less drunk for our train ride back to our hotel. If ever in the area again, I guarantee my slightly buzzed self will be back.

Was driving down Lawrence and noticed there was a sign on this place that said 24 hours… for some reason that stuck in my mind. Me and my friend had quite a few drinks @ Uptown Lounge later that evening and was craving tacos and burritos around 2am. There is not a lot of places open late in Uptown that has late nite mexican and my go to place in Edgewater was closed at this point. Suddenly that 24 hour sign appeared in my mind. We drove 1 minute west on Lawrence and parked right in front. There were a few patrons there looking very pleased with their meal so I knew the place wouldn’t disappoint. I got the al pastor(seems to be popular here) burrito which was very good along with the proper sauces. I saw they had horchata so I definitely had to have some to wash down the delicious burrito. Its good to know there is a place close by to take care of that late nite drunken sensation.

This is a pretty decent local Mexican places. Prices can’t be beat, service is excellent, the food is pretty good. We have had tacos, tortas and once we had the molcajeteada and it was pretty neat. It’s not the best place ever but it does the trick when you’re hungry!

My new fav Mexican spot. When I’m hungry at 10 or 11 I come here for the al pastor tacos and fajitas combinadas. The place is decently priced but the best part is that it’s open 247.

I went here for the first time for some late night tacos. The place looked like a hole-in-the-wall, which told me the tacos were probably good. I ordered a couple lengua tacos along with an al pastor taco. The lengua tacos were juicy and delicious! The al pastor taco was also very flavorful. I washed them all down with an horchata. Minus one star because dessert was an EPICFAILURE. We ordered two fried ice creams. The waitress brings them to our table. We take our first bites only to discover… THEYWEREN’T FRIEDANYTIMERECENTLY. The fried outer later was ice cold. When I order a fried ice cream… I at least expect the outer layer to be warm. The fact that the outer layer wasn’t crispy also was a dead giveaway. It was like eating stale cereal. I asked my waitress when they were cooked. She lied and told me they were fresh. She must have meant fresh from the freezer, after being cooked last week. We sent them back and the waitress replaced them with some flan. The flan was good. I’ll be back here. I just won’t be ordering the fried ice cream. Open 24⁄7.

(3 a.m. on a Tuesday) Hot, fresh tortilla chips, fast, relatively friendly service, super hot red salsa, al pastor tacos fairly tasty. The tacos were packed with meat. They were greasy, as pastor always is, but pretty good. The tortillas were a little dry, but not particularly bothersome. I ordered one with only onion and cilantro, the other I added sour cream, cheese and avocado. [Server forgot the avocado and I had to get up and get it, but it was handled quickly and in a friendly manner.] The extras were piled so high that they actually fell off my taco upon the first bite. :-) The flavor of the meat was completely drowned out by the toppings on that one. I’ll get them basic from now on. They were wonderful tacos for 3am and pretty good for any time of day. Ambiance was very casual and well-lit(too bright if you’re having a bad hair day!). Two tvs on the walls to keep up on «the» futbol match or Telemundo news cast. At that time of night there is only one server. She clearly had been busy(a good sign) because most of the tables were still dirty with plates on them(a not-so-good sign). Overall, worth the money. Great food for this time of day on a Tuesday. Since I’m a complete night owl, I will definitely be back!

Had 2 steak tacos with cilantro, lettuce, onions & cheese. $ 2.50 each — cheese costs extra. They were pretty darn good and the meat was plentiful! I’ll be baaaaack…
