Established in 1999.

The roots of LMJ date back to 1992 when Luo found work in the jewelry field as an ambitious, young man. As time passed, Luo realized he loved creating jewelry and wanted to start his own line. Thus, in 1999, Luo M. Jewelers was established. Ever since, the company has grown to new heights as Andy, co– owner, joined Luo to continue to provide clients the highest quality jewelry.

As a young child, Luo loved art and design. His passion continued into college as he studied the subject. Eventually, he was introduced to the jewelry field, where he adored designing and creating beautiful pieces. To continue his love for jewelry, he started his own line in 1999. He realized how much he loved helping clients find the perfect pieces for their special occasions. Motivated by the smiles of his clients, Luo continues to work hard at crafting the quality jewelry he is known for.

Garo and Wen are the best Jeweler on the row. They truly treat you like family and will not bullshit you. If you tell them your budget they will work with it and not try to oversell you. I got my engagement ring there and they gave me a sweet deal on my wedding bands. My wife’s engagement ring was appraised for 8k more than i paid for it. I have already had 2 buddies get referred there and their wife’s loved their rings.

I had a surprise engagement and the ring was the most beautiful colorless diamond I’ve ever seen. My fiancé said he will be shopping with LMJ for every diamond purchase from here on out. He explained how they educated him on the diamonds showed him how to compare diamonds and made him feel very secure and confidant with his purchase.
I had to take my ring back to be resized because I’m not a true 6 and they were so pleasant. I made it a few hours before close but they could see the excitement in my eyes and put in for a rush order.

Rick and team were amazing, professional, knowledgeable and most important partners. After looking into some shops in the Jeweler row I decided to enter LMJ. I met Rick, he was gracious and professional. I never felt pressure to buy like in other shops. Rick brought the diamonds I was looking for, not less neither larger to make you feel out of place, he understands and is very crafted in his business. I did not buy the first time due to work demands however when I returned to LMJ, Rick remembered me and even remembered what I was looking for. Once again he took time to show me a great collection of diamonds in the range I wanted.
You feel very confident that you are getting the right diamond after Rick helps you select the Diamond. Rick will provide you with the right expertise. I had the opportunity to meet Lou as well and he was gracious and helpful as well.

I had an unplanned downtown Chicago layover and remembered that I had some gold jewelry in my suitcase that I wanted to sell. This was my first and last stop. They quickly and thoroughly assessed the value and gave me a great price. I have a check in hand 15 minutes later and I also got my ring steam cleaned for free. The early stages of shopping for an engagement ring involve a weird mix of emotions in a lot of ways. It’s obviously exciting — you’re in love (hopefully) and on the search for the «perfect ring» to make her happy. You do your homework online and learn about the 4C’s and various apps to tell you the average market values of diamonds — but the process is still pretty intimidating. When you finally walk into a store and see all of the shiny options in front of you with drastically varying price tags, you quickly realize that learning the 4Cs can only take you so far. To find the «perfect ring» and still feel good about your purchase, you need honest advice and wisdom from the jeweler to help guide you the rest of the way.
Although it took me some time and multiple visits to finally choose the ring, I could tell within the first 5 minutes of meeting Rick that I was going to purchase the diamond at LMJ. He was always pleasant and professional in every sense of the word. His 25+ years of experience in the jewelry business were always on full display, as he patiently educated and advised me along the way. I honestly trusted his input as if he were a friend of my family, and never felt like he was trying to up-​sell me in any way. In fact, on several occasions, he talked me out of unnecessary and pricey upgrades for which I will always be grateful. Luo and Rick skillfully crafted my ring and had it ready within a couple weeks. On the day it was ready for pickup, they even kept the store open an additional 45 minutes after closing to allow me enough time to make it there after I got out of work.
If I recommended this place any higher, this post would probably get removed by the Unilocal Police. I can honestly say that I have found my jeweler for as long as I live in Chicago. Thanks LMJ!

Luo, Calvin, and the team exceeded all of our expectations in buying an engagement ring — they completely knocked it out of the park. We visited the team before we knew anything about rings and 3 months later, after tons of research, everything they were telling me from my first visit was completely honest information about diamonds and engagement rings and they weren’t just trying to sell me the most expensive diamond. When making a huge investment, having someone that’s honest and looking out for your best interest is extremely important.
I did quite a bit of research online and looked at other locations on Jewelers row in Chicago and by far the best diamond and best value was from Luo and team. Luo does all of the custom engagement ring work in house and can basically do any design you want and he does it himself. He also provides CAD drawings prior to making the ring so you can review and provide adjustments prior to making the rings. Several other jewelers on Jewelry row use him because of how great of work he does.
Fourth — my fiancé actually wanted a few changes to the ring after I gave it to her. Some of the adjustments were fairly big changes and Luo not only made all of the changes for free but he turned the ring around so quickly (try doing that online!). My fiancé absolutely loves the ring and I owe it all to Calvin, Luo, and team.
My fiancé and I couldn’t be happier with the experience we had at LMK and would recommend them to anyone looking for an engagement ring. You can’t beat the quality, price, experience, honesty, and knowledge of the team.

We worked with Garo to select our wedding bands. He was able to come up with a custom solution to fit my fiancees vintage ring and also steered me in the right direction for mine. I enjoyed interacting with him and found that he was very responsive via phone and email, reaching out when the cast was finished ahead of schedule. Came in with a pair of screw-​back diamond earrings that were irritating my ear lobes. They replaced the small screw backs/​post with the normal ‘pop on’ type which had a larger back to support the earring properly. The soldering job was absolutely perfect, you couldn’t tell that they had had a different post/​back before, and they are so much more comfortable. I can wear them every day now instead of having bloody, irritated ears. Thank you again for a fantastic job and very affordable prices! Wonderful service from Wen, absolutely recommend him!

I came across this place after doing some engagement ring shopping with my fiancé downtown. I really loved working with Wen. From day 1 he was very patient in showing us the selections and bringing in diamonds for us to view. I loved being able to see the actual diamonds through the lens and get a real feel. I went here with my fiancé to buy a wedding band. We weren’t sure what style was best but Calvin gave us great suggestions and showed us some awesome rings that matched my fiancé’s taste. LMJ has earned a life-​long customer in me! After having recently purchased a custom engagement ring from Rick, I can say without a doubt that this was truly a most pleasurable experience in every regard!
It’s no secret buying an engagement ring is certainly a joyous occasion as well as a serious investment on multiple levels. At times, such a venture can be a little stressful and equally tiring. After having window shopped around Jeweler’s Row for a few weeks, I was all but utterly exhausted and overwelmed, with one exception — LMJ.
LMJ, which just so happened to be the very first (unassuming) place I checked out along my rather lenghty tour along Wabash was the only place that ever made me feel completely at ease. Rick wasn’t ever pushy. Never did he try to oversell me. And he was very humble, despite his 26 years of experience in the trade. Upon meeting my (now) fiancée, she too thought Rick was a sincerely nice & down-​to-​earth guy. Once you meet him, you’ll see what we mean.
So we gave Rick a general idea of the ring style we had in mind. He was very helpful throughout the entire process, but again, without hovering too much or being overwhelming. He fully explained the pros & cons of each ring we examined and even took us outside to see each stone in natural sunlight — very cool! Ultimately, Rick let us freely decide with our hearts without trying to sway our opinions one way or another — exactly how it should be, right? Once we had a general idea of what we (she) wanted, Rick got things moving along and not only was he able meet my requested completion timeline, he routinely stayed in touch to update me on the progress. He even sent me pics of the CAD and the ring itself as it was being developed in the lab — true customer service! The final product was absolutely breathtaking!
Now that we are officially engaged, I am 100% certain we’ll be going back to see Rick in the relatively near future for my wedding band purchases… and so on.
You see, LMJ doesn’t view it’s patrons as mere one-​time customers, but rather, as life-​long partners! Thanks again Rick/​LMJ!

After searching high and low for an antique ring, I came into Luo M Jewelers. I showed him my engagement ring and said I wanted a wedding band that was time specific to the ring. I had done research so I knew what that looked like. So did Garo.
The ring ended up being PERFECT. It was also an antique. He was accommodating, not pushy at all, and made us a good deal. Bonus: the ring comes in a box that is so pretty. Trust me.
Awesome experience from beginning to end. If I have any future needs, I’ll go there first. And I would recommend the place flat out. Ask for Garo. He’ll rock your world!

My wife and I went ring shopping for her engagement ring a few months ago with an exact thought in mind. We wanted a tanzanite center stone with one trapezoid-​cut diamond on either side. We also knew we would have to shop around a bit to find someone with a decent knowledge of tanzanite who wouldn’t try to push us into a traditional diamond engagement ring. As expected, most jewlers either had little knowledge at all and would rather dazzle us with a vastly more expensive diamond ring or tried to convince us that if we want a blue stone, what we really want is a sapphire.
After several hours of making our way down the block, we came to Wen at LMJ. He understood exactly what we were looking for in the color, the cut and the quality of our center stone and the side stones. He didn’t have anything in the shop that day, but he knew he could get the right thing in within a week. Sure enough, he called us a few days later and we came back to see the three stones he had gotten in. Each was excellent, though one was truly perfect. From there we were able to quickly pick the side-​stones and begin discussions of the setting itself. He cautioned that a halo setting would give the most protection for such a large, soft stone, but that there were other options to allow more light into the stone and show off the blue color while still setting it low enough.
At this point, we expected the typical sticker shock and calculator games. We had even privately determined the best price we figured he could possibly give. Unprompted, he gave us a quote for $ 500 less than the best price we had figured. He didn’t screw around or play games. He got us what we wanted for a fantastic price. The finished product was everything we hoped for, and we’ve since purchased a matching pair of earrings, my custom wedding band and a custom emerald necklace from him. Each time he has shown his deep integrity and honesty in working with us to get high-​quality at a very reasonable price.
