I finally found an optometrist who is attentive. Dr. Toader was very knowledgeable and patient enough to explain me what’s my vision state. I set up the appointment over the phone and at the day of the eye exam I got in right on time with no delays. It was quick and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

I had an eye exam a couple weeks back and I absolutely love DrToader she explains everything so good and has so much patience going over all my questions in fitting me with contacts !! Staff is amazing and the frame selection is so good I already go some lovely frames. Best experience ever thank you !

I just. Got off the phone with Dr. Simona who spent a good amount of time going through the possible options to correct my vision.
I am not the simple case since my prescription does not quite meet standard lens numbers.
She had a lot of patience and answered all of my questions. She also reassured me that I would be able to return any unopened boxes of my purchased lenses for a refund.
So happy to find this practice and a place I can stick with!

VSP recommended their services to me and based on the reviews and their proximity to my apartment I decided to try them out. I haven’t had an eye exam since I was a little girl, but Dr. Toader explained my prescription to me in a super helpful and friendly way. The service and experience continued to be amazing with the two women who were at the front desk who happily explained what my insurance covered along with Marius who helped me pick out my frames based on my budget and style. Everyone here is very approachable, and I am so glad I decided to come here. I would definitely recommend them.

Recently came here to get an eye exam. I have VSP, so this location was a recommended site and I read all the great reviews on Unilocal which led me here. The location was very convenient since I live in East Pilsen.
Dr. Bass is very friendly and knowledgeable. After more than 7 years without an eye exam and old prescription, I thought for sure I would need a permanent prescription. Dr. Bass gave me good news and said that was not necessary. He explained and broke it down to me how my vision is currently working.
The ladies at the front desk were very warm and welcoming. I needed a new set of frames and one of the lovely ladies assisted me in my selection. She was very patient and gave her input. When it came time to pay, I really appreciated the price breakdown of everything. That rarely happens these days. My glasses came in pretty fast– less than a week.
I am really happy I came here and love my glasses. Thanks guys and look forward to coming here in the future for eye exams!

Thanks to the positive reviews on Unilocal,I decided to try Marketplace Vision for my eye care needs. Setting up my eye exam appointment was a breeze. Dr. Toader was great! She explained my current state of vision and expertly answered all of my questions. Kudos also goes to Marius for his customer service. He showed care and concern about helping me pick out the right pair of frames. A+ all-​around experience!

Went in for a check up. The staff is very friendly and help me with my needs. Dr. Bass is a very presentable and professional guy and it’s been a pleasure walking into this place. For sure will go there from now on and recommend to friends and family.

After getting my vision checked and receiving a new prescription from my Ophthmalogist, it was time to find a place, other than money-​robbing LensCrafters, to find a new pair of frames and lenses. It’s been five years since I last had a new pair.
I had a terrible customer service experience at Spex, and their selection was pretty bland. I figured I’d try Marketplace Vision since it’s relatively close to work. I popped in last Monday after work and I was the only one there. Initially I thought I’d just end up perusing the selection and then walking out. Nope!
I found four pairs of frames that I liked and the girl in front, Erin, was super sweet and super helpful in helping me narrow down my choices in frames. She was nice, but honest in her opinion of the frames and she would explain her preferences. Together, we found a really cool frame.
Erin thoroughly explained my vision benefits and the types of lenses that would suit the frame. She was in no way pushy in trying to get me to buy any «extras». Another cool thing was that I could pay half the amount of my total upfront and then the other half after I get the glasses.
My glasses came in pretty quick! They were ready by Saturday, but I couldn’t make it until today. Overall, I’m super pleased with everything, especially the customer service! Erin is the best and I’m really digging my cool frames!

We’ve recently purchased glasses and contacts from marketplace vision and our experience was outstanding! They had a good selection of frames to choose from and the eye exam was quick and thorough. They also took our insurance which was a plus. Bottom line, awesome local optical. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I have both had our eye exams here and would definitely recommend them. He wears just a light prescription glasses, and really liked Dr. Goble and Marketplace Vision. The ladies that help out with the front desk and exams are awesome as well. We weren’t sure what our insurance covered at the time, so we paid for the exam, and ended up getting money back for what turned out to be actually covered by our policy, so that was a nice surprise. Based on his good experience, I scheduled myself an eye exam a couple months later.
I myself wear a heavy prescription, contacts, glasses at night, and want to get Lasik, so I was all over the place. Not a problem for them! The staff member assisting with my initial exam was very friendly, and made me feel very comfortable about bombing each portion, reassuring me those depth perception dots ARE tricky, and it’s ok to not see the chart, let alone any letters on it. And +1 for no poof of air in the eye, hooray new technology.
Dr. Goble conducted the rest of my exam, fit me for contacts, and an initial Lasik discussion. The exam here felt more comprehensive than any others I’ve had, and Dr. Goble was very honest with me about my vision changes, his estimation that I would be a good Lasik candidate, and my prescription needs. According to him, I needed a bump up in Rx strength significant enough for him to question my ability to drive safely. Well, Dr. Goble, I’m from Boston, so my driving safety was questionable regardless of your eye exam, but thanks for the new sample contacts — I suppose I CAN see those street signs now. Since I’ll be following up with a Lasik consultation, Dr. Goble admitted it would probably not be a good investment to buy any new glasses just yet, gave me a week’s worth of the new prescription contacts to try out, and said to let him know what I decide.
Overall, the scheduling and availability was great, and I liked the ability to schedule online and confirm via text. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt like I received a thorough and accurate exam and good information.

I love Marketplace Vision. You can do online scheduling. They text you to confirm your appointment. I never have to wait long. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The Doctors (both of them) are very kind, quick, and smart. I have been going to them for a few years and they never disappoint. They have a decent eyeglass selection. Not the most impressive I’ve seen but something always catches my eye. I highly recommend this place.

I have been going to optometrists since I was 6 years old and have to say Marketplace Vision ranks with the best of them. I saw Dr. Goble and was impressed with his knowledge and ability. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and competent. Especially the girl at the front desk… I think her name is Tiffany but I could be wrong. Not only does she look like a model, she is very helpful with selecting frames.
My only complaint is the frame choice is limited compared to other places. But I did buy 2 pairs of glasses and am happy with both.

The first time i went to marketplace vision two years ago was because i lived close by. Now i’m willing to travel from rogers park because it’s all around fantastic.
First off, how many places can you say that reception is great… Here you can. The receptionist has always been nice (i’d give her a shout out if i knew her name!), thorough and prompt. She had to investigate what my insurance covers and gave me a short ETA of when she’d call back, and she was true to her word! i’m so soo glad my new insurance is accepted because i don’t want to go anywhere else.
Dr. Baas (saw him two years ago) and Dr. Goble (saw him today) are both genuine and really seem to know what they’re talking about. They spend time with their patients and encourage you to follow up for free if there are any questions or concerns.

I am very happy with my examination for eye contact lens. The campus care covers the part of the fee and it only costs 80 dollars to have the examination. The front desk girl is sweet and helpful. The examination is quite fast and I get my eye contact lens for one year prescription. Definitely recommend this place to UIC students and I will come back.

I wanted to make an appointment because the office is near home and it has been too long since my last eye exam.
After doing some research online and of course on Unilocal.I found that Marketplace had good reviews so I tried making an appointment.
I verified on their website that they do take my insurance. However when I called I was told they no longer take said insurance provider therefore, no appointment.
Unfortunately I cannot speak to their services, only the customer service I did not receive after being told they do not accept my insurance. The rep did not seem concerned that the website hadn’t been updated and was annoyingly nonchalant about it.
After this negative experience I noticed this isn’t the first person who was told the same thing.
While they must have recently made the decision they should still update the information on their website instead of wasting people’s time.
So for that they get a sad lonely one star and no recommendation from me.

Everyone was very friendly, especially the receptionist. Dr. Baas was very thorough and helpful. Usually going to the Optometrits is worse than getting teeth pulled for me, but Marketplace Vision was an overall quick and comfortable experience.

Made an appt and filled out medical forms from their website, which saved me a good 15 mins at the office.
Dr. Goble was fantastic! Very personable and friendly. He is great at explaining medical/​optometrical concepts to you in a very simple and clear manner.
The glaucoma test is no longer a fart in your eye, so thank god for that.
They accept UIC Campus Care
Frames range from about $ 120 – 300 with a mean of about $ 250, I don’t recall what the lenses cost. Dr. Goble made no attempt to pressure me into buying from then and even made it clear that they would be happy to provide me with the prescription information if i wanted to shop for frames elsewhere.
Overall great experience. While the glasses were more $$ than say, Warby Parker, they were of much higher quality as I tend to be very hard on my belongings. The glasses were ready for pickup THE NEXT DAY!

Eye exam here went as smooth as Charles Barkley’s head! I made an appointment day of, got in and out in an hour, and ended up spending half of what I did last time I needed new contacts.
Dr. Goble was great and pretty much tells it how it is. I usually feel like optometrists are trying to upsell you on a bunch of stuff you don’t necessarily need but he was a pretty straight shooter. They take several kinds of insurance and it can be pretty affordable even if you don’t have any on the account of a Unilocal Deal that they offer.
Overall a pretty great experience.

Dr. Goble fixed my glasses! They were in pretty bad shape so I wasn’t sure if it was possible but he patiently worked on them right when I brought them in to make them perfect again. I was a very happy camper!
I also went here last year to get an exam and contacts and Dr. Baas did a very thorough exam that no other place did. Everyone is super nice and caring, will be back again!
