History

Established in 2006.

The company name was chosen with the concept of the planet Mercury’s retrograde in mind. Three to four times a year the planet Mercury appears to slow down and appears to reverse direction in its cycle. People commonly attributed technical malfunctions, setbacks, lost luggage, obstructions, misunderstandings, and sudden unexplained ‘out of the ordinary’ events, to the Mercury Retrograde. They were advised to take things slowly during this stage of the cycle, to look at the details, and take extra precautions. Out of this came an awareness that instead of feeling loss of control and disappointment, one can create an advantageous moment, to redo, reassess, review, reconsider, and reorganize their activities.

What can I say about Lulu? Working with her is fantastic! I originally asked her to come over to my home to help me clean up and clear out some of the small piles of miscellaneous items that seemed to pile up throughout the corners of various rooms. During our time together, not only did Lulu provide clear and effective ideas on cleaning up and clearing out these little mountains; she also took it a step further by helping me rearrange where and how I placed my office belongings so I would in turn be more apt to send future assorted items to their appropriate place while maintaining a clean and clutter free home. If you are looking for someone to guide you through organizing your home or work environment, I highly recommend Lulu. She is highly respectful of your space, has the ability to blend intuition and logic in her organizing approach and has a quiet strength to help guide you so you can feel empowered and in charge of your dwellings.

Lulu is an amazing professional, who is very gifted at the art of organization. I really admire her ability to combine a keen sense of function with an aesthetic approach. She is a pleasure to work with and can handle any space challenge. I’ve worked with her twice. Her first project included designing a way of securing my husbands expensive instruments to the wall of our condo in order to keep them safe & secure from our growing baby. She designed an incredible system that was affordable, worked well, and looked great too!
Recently we moved to an older home in Evanston and I called Lulu immediately to ask her to come help us determine the best way to maximize our space. She came with extremely helpful info and used the time so well. She evaluated our entire home and provided multiple solutions to the space challenges that I presented her with. Plus, she is a true pleasure to work with, which makes the time fun and enjoyable.
Lulu is extremely efficient, affordable, and approachable. I can’t wait to work with her again!

Lulu came to my apartment to work on my office. I had papers from 6 months piled up and things were just poorly organized, I had a bad system. I thought that would be a day long project, organizing my mess of an office. BUT with her guidance we busted that out and got to an even messier closet as well. All of this got done in 2 hours (plus we have a cup of tea).

MOP was recommended to me by my realtor — and working with MOP turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. I am preparing my family (I am a mother of 3 under 4) to move cross-​country as my husband’s job is now is Los Angeles. In addition to taking care of the little ones and holding down my job, I was also faced with readying our home to show it to prospective renters, and organizing a move. We do not have any family in town and with my husband already in LA during the weekdays, I really needed someone to come in and help me get our household in order — ready to show and ready to move — and Elizabeth (Lulu) of MOP was that person. I knew from the moment I met her that she was going to help me get through the (daunting) process of preparing our house. She is not only a skilled and very hard working professional organizer, but she is also an excellent teacher. She took time to share the basic principles of organizing, and lots of tips for helping maintain the organization we’d achieved. She was extremely resourceful in finding ways to organize (e.g., containers to use, etc.) to keep costs low and trips to the Container Store numbered. I was beyond thrilled with the results! We accomplished what she said we would in the time allotted, which I found astonishing. Above all, Lulu really helped me mentally prepare for the move,. and in many ways proved to be a much needed source of support and assurance at a time of upheaval in our family’s life. It was like she was an angel sent from Heaven to get us through — I am really so thankful for her help and believe she’s is world-​class at what she does!

What doesn’t Elizabeth do??? Elizabeth help to clean and organize my chaotic closet …Then tackled my office and kitchen… Lastly the childrens toy room. SCARRY…I felt having her in my home help me improve my life and my family… If you’re looking for any simple projects to be done call this woman… She is fabulous.

I hired Lulu to help organize my house at a suggestion of a friend. She changed my life by helping me get organized at both ends of my commute. I walk out the door feeling sharp and organized. My guy came home from work and saw what we had accomplished in furniture placement and organizing the kitchen and he absolutely loved it. My whole life is going from chaos to clarity and I feel like a new person. Plus, Lulu is efficient with her time. She accomplished in a couple of hours what I thought would take a week. And she didn’t ask me to throw stuff out, we just made good use of the space I have. Do not hesitate to choose this service if you need some ideas for efficiency, organization or and want to get your physical space and self out of chaos. It cost less than I thought to make big changes!
