We have worked with Mike twice: as a seller, and because we liked that experience so much, as a buyer as well. He is an excellent lawyer, very quick and prompt to respond, and very accessible. He is polite, helpful and very much on your side during contentious situations. We worked with him to buy a foreclosed home, and Mike gave us as much peace of mind as was possible, while we negotiated with investors that owned that property. Suffice it to say that we successfully closed on our new home. My wife and I will continue to work with him in the future, as well as recommend him to family and friends.

Mike Wasserman was our attorney through a pretty crazy process of getting our little house. First, he was patient in helping us navigate through (and eventually out of) a deal for a house with a lot more hidden issues than we had signed on for. Then when we did finally find the house of our dreams, the closing almost collapsed but it was his guidance and focused effort that kept everything from falling apart. (Including the home buyers, to be honest.) There aren’t enough words of recommendation in my vocabulary for Mike Wasserman as the attorney you should use when buying a house.
Less like hiring a lawyer and more like gaining a teammate in the buying process (well, a teammate that is still a really good lawyer).

Mike Wasserman was our real estate attorney for both our recent condo sale in the city of Chicago and our purchase of a single-​family home in the Western Suburbs. Mike was recommended to us by our real estate agent, and we could not be any more pleased with the recommendation.
We had challenges along the way with both our sale and purchase. Mike provided excellent guidance in all situations and educated us well enough to keep us calm. His advice was tremendous. He helped us not to worry about matters that were not important, but was very clear when there were things we needed to watch out for, or decisions we needed to make.
There were several times along the way when I had many questions for Mike. He was always very responsive as well as very patient as he helped me to navigate through matters that I did not understand well. He was always completely reliable.
Mike’s competence in this field is quite obvious, but we enjoyed working with him as much due to the interpersonal relationship as much as the skill. He is professional and courteous yet has a great sense of humor that is calming and that he manages to work into the relationship while always maintaining that level of professionalism.
We would recommend Mike without hesitation and will certainly look him up for similar needs in the future. No complaints and nothing but positive things to say about Mike.

Mike was awesome! He helped us close on a condo earlier this year. He made the closing process seem incredibly smooth despite our awful real estate agent not even showing up on the day of closing. Mike follows through and is definitely someone that is trustworthy.

I cannot say enough good things about Michael. I paid a flat rate for his services for a condo purchase, and when things hit the fan, he came through fantastically. Some highlights:
– Michael uses his influence and expertise where needed, and he has both in spades. Our mortgage company, Wintrust, made mistake after mistake in processing our loan. They clearly did not understand the legal or financial ramifications of various affidavits and quitclaims that had been signed, and some of their proposed solutions were moronic to illegal. Michael immediately understood what was going on and defended my interests, and he also let the seller know that their preferred lender was falling down on the job. At closing, the title company representative clearly knew who Michael was and made reference to the fact that he was exceedingly good at what he does. The two attorneys in my immediate family who interacted with him were also impressed.
– Throughout this process, Michael was responsive and helpful. Even after closing, when I was preparing a letter to Wintrust outlining what the loan processor had put us through, Michael took interest in the communication and followed up when we received a reply (and compensation) from Wintrust. He repeatedly went above and beyond typical «flat rate» service.
– He donates some of the fees he collects to charity!
I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.
