Move-Tastic!

I got quotes from five companies and went with Move-​Tastic as they were the most reasonably priced per hour. I am very glad I did as the 3 man crew was outstanding. The estimate was for 5 hours but they were able to handle everything in 2.5 hours. They were super friendly and polite and called me throughout the day to let me know when they would likely be arriving. I couldn’t have asked for a more painless, quick move.

After getting quotes from about seven other companies, we decided to go with Movetastic and are happy we did.
The quote they gave us was fairly close to what the final charge was, and their hourly rate was much lower than all of the other places we talked to.
3 man crew of Martrell, Lance, and Marshaun were all very nice, hard-​working, and professional. They called to let me know when they’d be arriving (early! what?!). When a lamp got broken, they told me immediately and compensated me appropriately. When an unexpected obstacle of a ComEd truck blocking our path popped up, they immediately let the office know and Jessica called me to discuss how it’d affect the final charge. They were go go go, which when you’re paying hourly, is a very good thing. I couldn’t believe how much one of them could carry. And they totally have it down to a science, wrapping, filling the truck, team-​work. A beautiful thing to watch! And so glad I had no part in it. :)
Jessica and everyone in the office I dealt with were WONDERFUL. So prompt and thorough and friendly. Secured parking permits through them, easey peasey. Answered all my questions and updated their info on us with all my requests.
The guys had to make two trips instead of one, which was a surprise and bummer for us all, since it adds so much time. My fault for not giving a proper inventory? They said we had more stuff than they were expecting. Their fault for not having a big enough truck? They had a rented truck, not one of their own. Both of our faults? I shrugged and given the situation — can’t do anything about it – plugged on.
There was a bit of damage to the old place and new place that I didn’t notice till after (wall and floor dings and dents), and of course I wish that hadn’t happened, but moving is a bitch, and things like that occur. Nothing major.
Overall, 100% worth the money, even the additional expense of the parking permits.
I would use them again and recommend them, and as someone who makes a living off of referrals and who has a huge network of people who ask for and act on my referrals, that says a lot.

I moved apartments using Movetastic last Saturday with Manny and his crew. Not much to say other than they took care of my furniture, were punctual, and moved quickly. Moving is a pain and those things are all I really want when moving. So, I was very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

I’m disappointed to have to update this review after our recent experience moving with Move-​Tastic again. Despite having had two relatively smooth moves previously, I would not use them again.
Although I completed the online inventory of all of the items in our home, Move-​Tastic did not send enough people to complete the job in the estimated time frame. It was a job that required four people, and the leader of our three-​man crew told us as much. He even volunteered that the company had tried to send a fourth person at the last minute, but that they could not find a truck that would seat four guys, so the company decided to just stick with three. The crew was super nice and professional, but being down one person (along with the fact that our air conditioning went out the night before we moved) definitely put a damper on the day.
As a result, the move took an hour longer than estimated — not a huge deal for an all-​day move, but it did end up costing more. We were disappointed to see how many of our items were damaged due to hurried loading, including a delicate bookshelf and a desk. Also, the hardwood floors in our new home were deeply scratched by the movers, likely exhausted after a long day, pushing heavy items instead of picking up and carrying them.
I’m hoping this move is our last for a while, but if we move again anytime soon, I’m looking elsewhere for a company that will put a full crew on the job.

Movetastic — great customer service, friendly and reliable. Good price, maybe not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive. We used Movetastic for packing and moving when we found out we had to move with less than a week to prepare. Anthony Del Barrio, Luis Lopez and Jason Phillips packed our 3 BR townhome in about 3 hours. The next day, they moved us to our new location without any problems at all. Their competence and confidence turned my move into a relatively stress-​free experience. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely ask for these guys again too.

We used Move-​Tastic for a move from a 2-​bedroom apartment to a house, and we were very happy with them. I believe we had Crew 4, and they were excellent. Helpful, fast, and definitely the most capable movers I’ve had – they were able to move a heavy butcher block table in one piece that every other moving company has had to take apart and re-​assemble. The only snag ended up being that we couldn’t fit our box spring up the narrow stairs… obviously not their fault, and I was so impressed that they tried several different ways to get it to fit. If physics would have allowed the box spring upstairs, these guys would have accomplished it. I hope not to have to move for a long time, but whenever I’m forced to, I’ll use Move-​Tastic.

There are other moving companies in Chicago, but there’s no reason to bother with them. I’ve used The Professionals and a couple others. None were as friendly, customer focused, and fairly priced as MoveTastic.
My girlfriend was moving in with me and I had some items that still needed to be trashed that were hanging in my apartment. They asked about the pile and told them not to worry, I was going to trash them later. Without hesitation and without being asked, they started grabbing everything for me, going beyond the scope of work provided unprompted.
They wrap everything up perfectly and they take out the trash after all is said and done.
As far as we’re concerned, these guys are the only guys to use. If you’re moving and you’re reading this, you can stop now and head to their website and call it done.

Used Move-​tastic for a local move on ⁵⁄₂₄. Great experience, couldn’t have gone better. Professional, careful, fast, pleasant. Movers were M Gordon, J Gordon, M Browniee.

Move-​Tactic! just completed a move for us, this was our first time using movers and they were outstanding. Marco the team leader and Charlie, Evan and Lance were on-​time and never once complained. Very professional and made our move seamless as we needed to store half our stuff in storage and the other half went to our temporary condo. I was pretty stressed on the day of the move as I worked the night before and had no sleep do to packing and getting ready for the move. The team had a great attitude with all the question that I had and ensured me that they would be able to fill both 24′ trucks with our belongings. My next worry was that our storage unit was not big enough, but they ensured me they would make it work and utilized every square inch in it. Would definitely use them again when our new house is finished being built.

Went with move-​tastic based on a friend’s glowing report and wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t bother to check other movers but the estimate was pretty much what I expected, & actual amount was lower. They were polite, friendly, & helpful. Many thanks for a job well done!

I wish I used The Professionals Moving instead. I had a great experience with them last move.
The Move-​Tastic guys showed up and did nothing more than an OK job.
What really brought down the rating is that they broke my lamp — which I wouldn’t have cared much but they decided to glue it together and not tell me about it. I found out about it because I ended up with glue all over my hand when I tried to put the light bulb back in!!!
Also a vintage wall clock had its minute/​second hands broken. I ended up having to throw it out as it’s now useless.
Again, broken items happen during a move but glueing it together without telling the owner is just down right shady and completely dishonest.
I will never use them again or recommend to friends after what happened.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Everything about working with Move-​Tastic! was very pleasant & went smoothly. They quoted me well under all over moving companies I contacted. On the day of my move, they called me to say they were ready, EARLY. This is honestly unheard of, especially on a huge moving day. The two men who completed my move were amazing. The move took about 4 hours & they did it all with a smile. The total price ended up being even less than they quoted.
I cannot recommend using this company enough if you are looking for movers! They made the awful process of moving stress free!

I was moving about 7 large pieces of furniture and hired Move-​Tastic. The service was amazing and very professional. Kelvin and Jaylin were my movers and they didn’t so much as even tap into a wall or put anything down roughly.
They rearranged my storage unit and made sure everything fix properly and not just forced in.
If you use Move-​Tastic, and I highly suggest you do, be sure to ask for Kelvin and Jaylin.

Move-​Tastic will always be my trusted movers. They did a double move for me (two pickups, one destination). They were very professional, and took care of all my furniture and belongings very carefully. Parking for them at every location was very difficult (sorry guys)! But they were flexible, and never complained about parking a little further away in order to complete the move. It was a long 8.5 hours of moving, and it couldn’t have gone smoother.
Their prices are competitive too. I would recommend them every time. Use Move-​Tastic!

Keith and Chris were definitely athletic movers! I had a great experience using Move-​Tastic — found them after Unilocaling and did a price comparison among The Professionals Moving Specialists and New City Moving, and Move-​Tastic was the most affordable. Adam in the office was very helpful with the initial quote and scheduling the move, and with multiple experiences in moving item from a high-​rise condo into POD storage, it was reassuring to use them for my first storage/​move experience. Keith and Chris arrived right on time and was very careful and methodical in shrink wrapping my furniture and moving things out and then placing them in storage, well under the quoted time frame of 5 hours (they finished in 3.25 hours).
The only thing I would note is that Move-​tastic up-​charges their «materials fee» which is in fact, a mandatory fee that they slap on for use (ie rental during the move) of their dollies, tape, shrink wrap, etc… they will charge you this fee even if you don’t use any materials. I packed my boxes myself, didn’t use any of their tape, and even if I had forgone the shrink wrap, they would have still charged me this fee because it covers the use of their carts to roll your things to the moving truck from your apt etc. I contested this when I was signing the estimate and had to talk to Dana regarding this line item… so just be aware.
But overall, the actual movers’ services are great, and I would not discount them because of the materials fee. If I am ever back in Chicago and need a move I will definitely use them!

Move-​Tastic helped me move this weekend. I had no idea that having an elevator building would actually be a hindrance. I was getting a little nervous because it seemed to be taking quite a bit of time for them to move me out. However, once we got to my new place (on a second floor, no elevator) they knocked it out SO FAST! Everything was off the truck, in my new place and reassembled in just over an hour. It was incredible! I highly recommend them. My movers were Kelvin and Kelvit. I think they may be magic, because it was SO quick! They were very nice, professional, and efficient. I am not planning on moving again for A LONG time, but if I do I would absolutely hire them again. Keep it up Move-​Tastic!

Used Move-​Tastic for the first time this weekend, they were amazingly good. Quick, friendly, and everything brought in in perfect condition.
We got a four man crew (Danny Hernandez, Lance Caudle, Alex Lopez, & Eddy Boatman in the Morgan truck) and what was quoted as 6 hours took 4.5. We’ve moved within Chicago three times, and this was the smoothest by far. We have three pieces of furniture that I would classify as «Awful to Move» and they handled them with ease.
Highly recommended.

Marcellus, Chris and Karl are awesome! They moved both my boyfriend’s and my apartment on a snowy, cold day in Chicago. So fast and conscientious. My recommendation to anyone using a moving service would be to clearly label which room your boxes will go. Makes the process so much easier!
Overall, very happy with the service. Would definitely use them again!

We were happy to be using move-​tastic again after so many years. They guys were still very friendly and I really enjoyed working with them.
My problem is that they used a tiny bit of plastic wrap on our couch when we hadn’t bothered (it was in storage) and because of that, I had to pay $ 50 for using their equipment. I feel they should have asked us if we wanted them to use their materials.
I also noticed a pretty steep hike in their truck usage fee. When we used them several years ago, they charged $ 50, now it’s $ 110 which really makes the whole move that much more expensive. It makes it so that for their two hour minimum you are paying for three hours.
Our last move with them was very similar and only cost us under $ 400 which included a $ 20 for each of the three guys there. This move cost almost $ 600!
Overall, we will be shopping around a lot more next time we need movers and it will be hard to recommend them to others knowing how much more expensive it’s going to be for them.

We moved halfway across the country in three days and not a single thing was broken. Not a single thing!!!
The three man team we had on ¹²⁄₂₆ did a phenomenal job packing our truck and securing our items.
Highly recommend this company, used them 4x and they’ve never let me down.
