We had a wonderful experience with Greg from My Chicago Flats! Greg was super helpful and informative helping us find an apartment! The whole process was super clear and quick! He went out of his way to help us get everything together for a super short notice move right before we went on vacation out of the country. I highly recommend Greg and My Chicago Flats!

I had seen a particular unit online through
and the contact was Greg. I reached out both through the contact field on the website as well as calling him. We were able to set up a time for later that week to see the place. He showed me a different apartment than the one I had inquired about but it ended up being quite a contender. While seeing that apartment, I asked about the other one I had wanted to see which was only a block away. He made a call and we were able to see that apartment as well. It completely lived up to my expectations!
Greg is very upfront and knowledgeable about the properties he works with. He’s familiar with the neighborhood and the people who manage the buildings. He was clear with me about the process. He said he’d let me know what the landlord’s decision would be in the next two days.
As promised, he called 2 days later and told me that my application was chosen. I got the apartment!
I had been frustrated for weeks that many agents weren’t willing to show me apartments after 5pm on a weekday or on the weekends (when my schedule allowed). And it was after meeting and speaking with Greg that helped me realize you have to be understanding that many of these agents/​brokers are balancing a lot of inquires via the internet and phone (especially when they have such great properties to show). Not only that, but add into the mix the current tenants’ schedule. You have to be able to work around all these schedules (including your own, which often takes a back seat) with the hope that someone actually ends up biting.

Avoid like the plague! Bad business and no respect for customer’s time. Greg wasted my time 2 days in a row! Scheduled an appointment for a unit that was not available to show that day. Rescheduled for the next day then he refused to answer the phone! He completely wasted my time! I’m sure that the unit owners who use this service have no idea how poorly potential tenants are being treated. Money is certainly being lost.

I was looking for an apartment with one bedroom two months in advanced of my move-​out date. I found one place through Winnemac Properties. The place was nothing special but I thought I could deal. I put in an application and wrote out a first months rent check and waited to see if I got it. A week and a half later with no call I just guessed I didn’t get it, and looked again and found an apartment through Greg at MyChicagoFlats. It was a great apartment that was clean, in a good price range and exactly what I had been looking for. I applied and got a call a few days later ending up getting the apartment! The best part is that about a week later the shademaster from Winnemac Properties was showing MY current apartment that is privately owned, not by Winnemac Properties??? Let’s just say there are agents just trying to make some extra cash and I didn’t feel that way with Greg. MyChicagoFlats is the way to go! Efficient, friendly and very helpful!

Greg was amazing! At first it was a bit of phone tag because of my work hours but he was very understanding in this. He met up with us at the unit and told us about the area. The unit was better than we imagined and right in our price range. I had found the apartment on craigslist and did more research about the place on their website. Any questions I had he was able to answer with ease and if anything came to mind I could text him and he would answer back. I am so happy to have found this apartment. We haven’t moved in yet but just this experience alone was enough to insure me that our new apartment is going to be worth it. He was very professional and in the future if we ever need to move again I hope to have him help. I would recommend Greg to any and all looking for a new place. You can tell he really enjoys the work he does and cares about the people he’s trying to help move. He told us about the people in the area and even the landlord/​owner. Which was nice to know what we would be moving into. A family owned place quite place. With tons of sunlight. Our biggest concern was our cats and finding a place that would allow them. My boyfriend and I couldn’t be happier wit the service we received. He was very personal and informative. Professional as well. He was approachable and that’s what I think made this easier. Having a person we could talk to with out stumbling over words thinking that we might say the wrong thing. I would give a higher rating if i could. Thanks Greg!

Greg was great to deal with! I found a place with him right away, and he knew all the hot spots in my new neighborhood! Some I still have to try. He was extremely responsive, and informative, and even followed up with me a month later to see how everything was going! I am beyond happy at my new apartment! Thank you Greg and My Chicago Flats! Recently worked with Greg on signing a lease for our new apartment. My experience was as painless as apartment hunting in Chicago could be. I found Greg to be upfront, honest, and responsive. Would recommend.

I had an apartment showing scheduled with Gregory; he never showed up and didn’t answer the call or email I sent while I was waiting for him (30 min) to grace me with his presence.
Don’t waste your time with this incompetent company.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The agents do not care whether or not you are happy and find a home. No, no. They care about how many $ 80 credit checks they can scam from people and their boys club.
I came upon a listing that seemed ideal. After waiting days to hear back via email from anyone working with this apartment, I decided to call. I finally reach someone while they’re at the grocery store who continues to be annoyed about the over abundance of calls coming in on this listing. I decided to brush it off because we all have bad days.
However, upon arrival I was sorely disappointed. The agent was visibly checked out of the situation, unprofessional, and brash to say the least. It didn’t seem like anyone else was going to show up for this «crazy popular» apartment. Great! I spent the $ 80 on application fees because I had a good feeling about the place in addition to the promises the agent was making us, and honestly at this point we are desperate to move. I waited. And I waited. And I waited to hear back (which I believe was just a few minutes shy of the legal waiting period) to find out that someone who has the same credit, but no pet was taken over us. Why? The apartment specifically was pet friendly with ZERO restrictions. Repeated back to us by the agent himself multiple times. Because of a damn good credit score, I will now be homeless.

My experience with Greg and My Chicago Flats was fantastic! I love my apartment! Seriously, couldn’t be happier. It looks better than the pictures on Craigs List, is in the neighborhood I wanted, Lincoln Square and at a price I can afford.
I was going through a rough patch, which is why I was moving, and had to reschedule multiple times, but Greg was always flexible and above all else, he was kind. He was sympathetic to my situation and really worked with me and my new land lord to get everything right. I don’t think I would be in this lovely apartment if it wasn’t for him, and for that I am very grateful.
If anyone I love is ever moving, I’ll be recommending Greg and My Chicago Flats, for sure!

Ugh. That’s all I can say in regards to trying to work with this company. Actually, wait, I can say more:
I first contacted Greg via text earlier in the year about a 3 bedroom apartment. Never heard from him.
Well, plans changed and now we were looking for a two bedroom. Contacted him again regarding a two bedroom. Again, never heard from him. After two weeks, I decided to try again, mostly b/​c I saw that the apartment ad had been reposted so the apartment was presumably still available. We agree to meet on Saturday, though it took another 24 hours for me to get a specific time. Saturday comes and less than 2 hours before going to view the apartment, he cancels!
I get it, things come up, emergencies happen. But when it takes over two weeks just to schedule an appointment to see and apartment, only to have that appointment canceled on such crazy short notice is RIDICULOUS! I do have a life (dull as it is at times!) and have to work my schedule around apartment viewings and I feel like a good chunk of my Saturday was wasted on what appears to be an unresponsive realtor. If you have all the time in the world to play phone/​text tag and are in zero rush to move and have the luxury of waiting weeks to see a rental, than maybe My Chicago flats may work out for you.
Again, ugh.

I wish there was a Golden Star that I could give to My Chicago Flats! This was the most efficient and painless apartment search I have ever had!
I saw a unit on their website that I fell in absolute love with. I contacted Mandy and she let me know that the unit was being rented but she was pretty sure that there would be another available on Sept. 1. Like a crazy person, I extended my current lease and tried not to stalk Mandy every day until that unit was able to be shown. (She didn’t even judge me on my potentially crazy tendencies)
Putting all my faith in Mandy I waited for this unit. I was very nervous trusting her because I’ve had bad luck in the past, but she came through! Lucky for me, she called the day it was available for showing and I put in my application. The next day I was approved and 2 days later I signed the lease. Easy breezy.
What I love the most about this experience is the personal touch. Mandy wasn’t able to show me the unit, but still sent me a text that evening to say how glad she was that I liked the unit. When I met with her to sign the lease, she told me all about the landlords, current tenants (because she’s rented to all of them) and how Chicago Flats tries to match the right people to the right building. You would never get that from any of the other apartment agencies.
They are very picky with the landlords that they work with because they want their customers to be happy with their new apartment! It isn’t just about commission here, it’s about making people happy. I am confident that if I had any other questions about my new apartment, they would make time to answer the questions! Can’t wait to move into my new apartment!

Since my last review I was contacted by the managing broker Greg B. I appreciate the apology admitting that although it is no excuse, My Chicago Flats was undergoing a relocation period and he had made efforts to make sure things like this didn’t happen. This understanding (closure) is nice to know. Greg has also welcomed the opportunity to work with me personally in finding a new property and we began viewings today. Even if we don’t find what I am looking for I am satisfied enough at the communication and consideration offered by Greg. He has restored my customer satisfaction in the professionalism of their brand!

Me and my boyfriend viewed an apartment in Ukrainian Village with Mandy. Unfortunately, when we called a few days later, the apartment had already rented. However, Mandy was willing to help us out by offering to show us another unit in the same area the following morning. When we got there, we fell in love with it and will be moving in shortly.
Throughout the process of signing the lease and getting the keys, Mandy has been easily available and very flexible with both of our schedules. She even gave me and my boyfriend a ride to get the keys from our new landlord. We were very pleased with all of her help and professional and personable approach to making the process one of the best we’ve ever had with a leasing company.

As a landlord that has used several rental services I have found My Chicago Flats to be one if the most professional leasing company’s that I have worked with.
Always punctual and quality applicants with a direct no-​nonsense approach yet very friendly and personable with applicants. I especially enjoy working with Mandy Banas because she always seems to get my apartments rented in a very Expeditious manner.

As a first time renter (always been a home owner, never a renter); I was very concerned about the overall renting experience. I worried about finding a reputable landlord/​property and at the same time was hesitant to work with a leasing agent. I spent hours every day reviewing listings and finally found two properties I liked. When I met Greg at the first building, I told him I was a first time renter. He proceeded to counsel me on things to look for, questions to ask. Greg was very professional and responsive to all my follow up questions and request to re-​visit the property. I was impressed with his patience and the effort he to made to make things easy for me when I decided to lease a beautiful two flat in Roscoe Village. I highly recommend working with My Chicago Flats; Greg was very genuine and a great resource for a first time renter. Application and Lease signing is done. Just waiting for the keys and summer in the city!

Having relocated to Wisconsin, I realized the having a weekend place in the city was too rich for my budget. I had no idea of the Chicago rules and regs for landlords and didn’t have the time to run back into the city for showings. I found My Chicago Flats here on Unilocal and chose them because they were local to my place and seemed to have better reviews than other agents.
They were very proactive on communicating with me and had two applications in three days. They handled all the credit, employment and background checks and I was able to handle all the details remotely. The agent even did a home visit to determine that the prospective renter’s dog was not the barking type.
I was very happy with the service and believe that they have found me excellent tenants, with the likelihood of being long-​term ones.

This is a great real estate company that found me solid, long-​term tenants.
I worked with several other companies and they always tried to push bad tenants on me. With MCF I received honest feedback on my unit and they helped me rent my apartment (which I was having trouble renting for months) in a timely manner.
A lot of companies kept calling me for business, but never brought anybody by. This real estate company was consistent, aggressive, and interested in helping me find long-​term tenants. Within a day of agreeing to work with the company an agent came by to assess the apartment and get photos. There was a sense of urgency and I appreciated it given my apartment was on the market at a bad time.
MCF took care of all the marketing costs, showings, and tenant screening. I was given an opportunity to meet the applicants and at no point was I under any pressure to make a decision. My biggiest complaint with leasing agents is that they are only concerned with getting paid and they do not care if I, the owner, get stuck with bad tenants. I did not get that vibe once with my agent, Erik.
I refered a friend of mine who has a building in Rogers Park to this company and he was very pleased with the service as well.

This was my first experience using real estate company to find tenants to my apartment so I don’t have a frame of reference. Usually, I had my friends or distant family renting out my place for peanuts. (you know, the beauty of dealing with family) So after they moved out I decided I could try to rent my place out to some eccentric millionaire from the craigslist. Well, I gave up shortly after I shoveled two mortgages straight out of my packet to the bank’s throat. Being a little bit desperate I resorted, based on my friend recommendation, to My Chicago Flats. I really regret I wasted two months trying to prove everybody wrong.
My Chicago Flats was flexible in working around your schedule, which is a great plus because I don’t have much time during a day. The owner was so accommodating he was able to meet with me after the business hours. My Chicago Flats designed an ad for my listing, they were showing the property to the potential tenants and they even checked the tenants criminal record. They helped me along through every step of the process and make things very easy. And just under 3 weeks My Chicago Flats found me some amazing family that signed a long term lease and my life is beautiful again.

I have been ardently looking for a new apartment for about the last 2 months in anticipation of our lease end on April 29^th. One thing I noticed, is that a lot of the places I saw coming up over and over again on Craigslist were on My Chicago Flats. So, I kept my eyes peeled.
About a week ago, a month before our move, we took the plunge and started making appointments to see some of these places. We called My Chicago Flats and they told us to come in at 5:30 on Wednesday, where we could have someone show us the units we’d identified as the ones we really wanted to see.
Wednesday comes and well, they have no one to show us the places, so we reschedule for 4:30 on Friday. I leave work early and my husband and I drive over to some shithole on Western Ave. over a bar, across from a used car lot. Um… that wasn’t one of the units we mentioned we wanted to see.
That set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. Suddenly, all the units I had just checked out on their website that were available mere minutes before I left work to meet our «agent» were «JUST rented’ or she didn’t have keys or paperwork. When I pressed her on the discrepancy between what they advertised and what she was showing us (can we say garden apartment after garden apartment even though I said there was no way in hell?), she had no good answer. And she wasn’t even apologetic or friendly about it.
It just seemed like a bait and switch scam to me, to be perfectly honest. And needless to say, we’ve given up on their service.
