Large Pistachio tray of Baklava at $ 40 I s expensive but so worth it. Honey is plentiful but just right. Pistachios are the best so they charge $ 5 more but, again, so worth it.

Everything was fresh, flakey, and deliciously sweet. Friendly service and convenient street parking. Grab a sample! This is my first trip of what is sure to be many.

This place is bad. After I gave them a negative review, I received an anonymous hate message on Unilocal.And my review was removed afterwards by Unilocal for being too similar with another location.
I am surprised how many people have rated it highly. I have a feeling all the negative reviews are removed.
Like many other people have mentioned, the staff is neither friendly nor helpful. It seems like the person behind the counter was there just because she had to.
Everything is packaged. we looked at one of the mix packages by Zain and they did not have an open box that you could see in. and it wasn’t cheap either. The Zain stuff was dry and was more like bite sized. Not the traditional stuff I was expecting.

Very very rude workers especially the ladies they don’t understand anything and they don’t seem like they want to work the pastries are not bad but I had much better it’s not worth coming back to people like.

It seems that there is a confusion between the Nazareth Sweets freshly (re)located at 4806 N Kedzie Ave and the one which took the vacant place. To me, the new «one», still few meters from Kedzie brown line and between Salam restaurant and Coin Laundry is… the best. I went there twice and all the time it’s a magical moment. Sweets are amazing good, owner is like every father who wants to share his food which is just baked. Unbelievable ! Price is more than decent versus the quality of food (sugar/​salted). Just go!
On the other side, the problem with «Nazareth sweets» shop is that you can’t choose your own preparation as it is already packed. Quality is also good. Staff not friendly at all.

One of my co-​workers brought some Nazareth baklava to work and it was mind blowing. Probably the best baklava I can remember ever eating.
If you haven’t had some yet, you need to do yourself a favor and find it, get two boxes because you’ll go through it faster than you think!

My friend brought me this baklava as a gift one day and it was hands down the best I have ever had! I had to start sharing it with friends just so I wouldn’t eat every piece myself.
I will definitely be going to Nazareth to by more sweets for my friends (and myself) soon!

Somebody brought some of their baklava into my office the other day and I wish he had one it sooner. I told myself I would only have one but ended up eating half the box! The sweet and savory clash of flavors helps to make these delectable goods something to remember.
They have a wide variety of treats and I can’t wait to go in and try some more. Make sure to get in early and get as much as you can. It is great to see a family run business in a cool area care so much about their food and the people around them.

Amazing and decadent pastries which are simple but full of flavor. A baklava and turkish tea after a meal — really, can it get much better?
All of the staff and the owner are so friendly. They make you feel like family when you step into the business. It’s close to the brown line and in the very interesting Albany Park neighborhood — a great place to pick up middle eastern treats.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves baklava or trying awesome and delicious treats.

I honestly cannot even believe what just happened to me. I ordered over $ 100 worth of baklava for a Ramadan party I was throwing. I called, ordered, and paid two weeks in advance for my party. Called the day before the party to confirm and the girl seemed confused but told me the delivery guy would be there the next day at 5:30.
7:51 on the day of my party and there is no delivery guy with baklava. Called the bakery and get some ridiculous story that I called to tell the bakery I was having my party in Tuesday instead of Sunday.
I have never tried the sweets from Nazareth nor will I ever do so. I will make sure I tell everyone I know never to order from here. I have 150 guests and no sweets to give them. You people are incompetent and rude. You don’t even deserve one star. Thanks for ruining my party.

About a 1 – 1.5: I stopped by here with the hubs to get some of their baked goods to go. Nazareth Sweets offers a nice selection of Middle Eastern sweets, such as harissa, ghoraibeh, mamouls, baklavas, fatayer, bamyas, bourmas, ballourias, baraziks, basmas, and knaffehs. I’ve heard many wonderful things about this bakery, as they’ve been featured on the local news in having one of the best baklavas in the city. However, even though it was just past noon when we walked in, their selection was extremely limited. I am thinking that there was some huge influx of people or a party platter that was recently bought! With the limited desserts that were left in the bakery case, I inquired if they had any other available pieces in the back as well as just a quick run-​down of what they had (as some were of different shapes/​ingredients). The employee who was in there was just not friendly and she really didn’t care to explain — not sure why?! T_​_​_​_​T We did pick up some baklava, but when tried it, it was extremely soggy due to the amount of syrup, and it didn’t taste fresh either (seemed a couple of days old, at least). I was really excited to check this place out, but based on their service and underwhelming, not-​so-​fresh baklava, I will not be back!

I came here specifically for the knafeh. I’m Egyptian and it’s my absolute favorite arabic dessert (seek it out if you haven’t tried it). The first time I came unfortunately they were out of it but the nice guy behind the counter let us get some samples of the baklava and other sweets they had and we walked out satisfied.
The second time I visited I was in luck because they actually had it. Unfortunately it was the worst piece of knafeh I have ever tried. It was very dry and very bland and tasted horrible. It may have been an old piece that wasn’t fresh, but whatever they sold me belonged in the trash and not in someone’s mouth. I also tried the harissa (basbousa) and it was also not very good.
I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because of my first experience, but the knafeh and harissa are not good at all. I could never go back to a place that will sell someone knafeh that was that bad.

The big girl behind the counter was rude. I tried to use their Unilocal check in offer for 2 free pieces of baklava with my purchase. When she went to charge me after she had packed all of the other stuff I bought, she told me she had to charge me for the baklava that I thought was free with my check in because I hadn’t spent $ 10! I told her that nowhere in the Unilocal check in does it mention I have to spend $ 10. She said that it was a new policy and that she had forgotten to update it on Unilocal!What the heck? Talk about bad customer service. I should have just left but I still took my basboosa and kanefa that I had bought and it was so dry and tasteless that I will DEFINITELY NEVER come back. Dry pastries that taste NOTHING like true Arabic sweets and a rude customer service girl who refused to offer what their Unilocal check in is will make me never come back. If u want good customer service and really authentic Arabic sweets, go across the street to jaafer s sweets. You won’t be disappointed.

Wow! My first time stopping in and I am just really happy. I’ve had their baklava when a friend shared some before, so when I needed to grab something sweet for an event in a pinch, that’s where my mind went. First of all, it smells terrific inside. I was greeted warmly by the woman working, who took my generic baklava order and filled it quickly. After I paid, and was getting ready to leave, she offered me a sample of whatever I wanted — anything and everything! Wow, I only indulged in 2 different sweets — a Walnut Mamoul, and a Walnut Finger — Can you tell I like walnuts? Anyways, it was just such a kind act of generosity, and her willing to share with me. They were both delicious, and I can’t wait to stop in again.

I was expecting a little bit more cheerful place for having sweets from Jesus’ childhood home, yet this establishment appeared to be much more austere than what I envisioned. That’s ok though. Thinking that Jesus went through the crucifixion, and perhaps, this store is the reflection of that tragic historical event… well, let’s stop digressing.
There wasn’t no usual displays of sweets in the refrigerators. Instead, items were all boxed up and were categorized by sizes. There was one dude behind the cash register, and another one was making sweets and organizing the trays and trays of goodness.
We picked up the medium-​sized variety tray ($ 15 before tax). I really didn’t see the prices listed on the boxes, but I know some of them are sold by pound, while some of them are sold by the size of container.
The variety tray contains… well, lots of things (sorry, I’m not super intellectual in terms of knowing the name of each kind). Nevertheless, most people’s favorites, such as the baklava and pistachio rings, were included. In summary, there were seven (7) different kinds on the medium variety tray.
Those sweets are great to go with a cup of strong Turkish coffee (wait and see me Unilocaling at a Turkish coffee place very soon). I personally think it’s a fair deal for the amount of sweets I purchased.

Really great sweets! I sampled a variety and they were all solid. The baklava, unlike some other places, were not sickly sweet and I loved how flaky and crisp the phyllo dough is. Also, I really appreciated that the guy behind the counter rolled it in pistachio, just for an extra touch! Also, there’s this other one that has a rose water flavor to it. That was solid. They are also VERY reasonably priced compared to Greektown where one piece of baklava is like $ 1+. I got like 5 – 6 pieces for only around $ 3.50!
I only dock one star because they didn’t honor the Unilocal check-​in for two pieces of baklava. The woman said I had to buy above a certain amount … which kind of irked me because I got a small box of baklava but I had to get a medium or a large? When was that rule enforced??? Hm.

A confession: I have never been a fan of maamoul. Many a time, I have conceded to eating them — even smiling/​grimacing while my better half proceeded to buy them in bulk packages from the local shop — all the while secretly loathing those dastardly spawn of an unfortunate one night stand between a mooncake and Fig Newton (TM?), dreading the moment when I would be asked to share one after an evening indoors.
Anyway, the secret is out now and I am reformed thanks to the good help of Nazareth Sweets. I have come to see the error of my ways in thinking that dates were appropriate only for stuffing with cheese and wrapping in bacon. The once-​dreaded date maamoul is now a favorite.
Aside from the brief born-​again date maamoul experience, baklava here is egregiously cheap. The first time we came in, I watched our take away box fill with more than a little trepidation, clutching my credit card: 2 bamya, 2 pistachio rings, 2 sesame brittle, 2 harissa, knaffeh, mushabak… $ 7. I should have been comforted by the couple in front of us in line — the wife complaining that it was all too sweet and that her husband always ordered too much. They left with two big boxes for less than $ 20.
The baklava, the harissa, and, of course, the date maamoul were fantastic and just a week after our first trip we drove all the way back here to get more. I should say that the walnut maamoul is not quite up to par with the date; also, we cared less for the bamya and knaffeh since the syrup was not as strongly flavored as I might choose to make at home. Then again, I’ve never successfully kept soaked bamya crispy or maamoul anything not an exploded carbonized mess.
On second thought, I think I’ll leave the sweets-​making to the experts the next time my colleagues pressure me to bring in baked goods: after all, some nice baklava in the car now means a nice empty box for hoarding tiramisu cake.
