One Magnificent Smile LTD

Went there a month ago and I asked them to check with my insurance to see if my procedure was covered. They informed me that the insurance company would cover 50% of the procedure. After procedure, I paid half and then a few weeks later I got another bill for the remaining half stating that my insurance would not cover this. I called to try to straighten out but they informed me that that’s how it goes. Very misleading way of doing business. Will never go there again.

I would recommend Dr Zmick to anyone for general dentistry to complicated needs. I finally got tired of going to my old dentist who I felt was constantly suggesting unnecessary work. I asked for some referrals and came to One Magnificent Smile. I could not have been happier. They took a complete history of all the work previously done so their charts were accurate. I have needed veneers, root canals, implants over the years, and all have been done perfectly. Nothing looks fake like some dentistry can. Dr Zmick is professional, conservative in what needs to be done, and has a great personality. I literally know almost everyone in the office now, and they are all wonderful and provide excellent service. Everyone including the front desk staff, dental assistants, hygentists, all take pride in their work and want you to have a great experience. No problems ever with insurance billings, and are always thorough in their fees, etc. I highly recommend this office and Dr Zmick. SInce he is the owner, leadership comes from the top, so he definitely knows his business well!

Wonderful place if you have high threshold for pain. If not, beware. Bedside manner less than proficient. Don[t profess what you actually feel and you will be treated humanely and with respect. However, discomfort and actual complaints of pain will be disregarded while you will be made to feel like its in your mind or your making it up. Puts me in the mind of jailhouse dentistry, which I don’t know about first hand.

This is still a great place! I was able to snag a last minute appointment about my upper wisdom teeth bothering me, and I had to leave with one less wisdom tooth. The procedure was quick and painless (novocaine is great!), and I had all the information I needed to continue to take care of my teeth.
I’m always excited to visit here! I’m a very happy patient.

Dr. Zmick is the BEST!!! I He always goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and confident. I have ALWAYS left his office in a better mood than when I walked in. The staff is amazing and they explain every process in detail so you have no worries about what is going to happen. Dr. Zmick has done my braces, cosmetic work, wisdom teeth removal, redone old fillings, and put on a crown. He does amazing work and he gave me ONE MAGNIFICENT SMILE.

Dr. Blankshein and staff have been incredibly gentle, thorough, and unpretentious across multiple visits for my family and me. They are conservative in their treatment recommendations, and they do everything they can to eliminate all dentist-​related anxiety. They are accepting new patients, and parking around the office is abundant. I’ve never waited for a treatment, and I want them to have a successful practice.

One Magnificient Smile is just an amazing office! I have come in to see Dr. McDonald for multiple visits now. He is always willing to take the time to explain everything to me as the procedure is being done. He is very gentle and always willing to spend as much time as needed with me. I never liked the dentist office, but when I see Dr. McDonald I immediately feel relieved by his ability to make your dental visit always a pleasant experience. Their office even offers a machine that will make your crown while you are in the office!

When I was sixteen, I got my braces removed. After losing my retainers about a month after that, I just shrugged it off & assumed that they weren’t going to shift back. Now being a few years older, I noticed that my teeth started shifting after my wisdom teeth grew in.
I thought I took good care of my teeth. Brushed twice a day, just got into a flossing routine not too long ago, & always having really white teeth, I started getting a little cosmetically scared about my teeth shifting.
My smile is my forte’.
So after researching, I came to «One Magnificent Smile,» for an invisalign consult. To the digression of the extremely nice dentist (which I’ll talk about later) they suggested for me to come in for a cleaning first, and then afterwards they can take impressions. I was completely ok with this. I just had my teeth cleaned just a tad over a year ago, and given a clean bill of health, I was due for a cleaning.
I forgot the name of my hygienist who I had but she was extremely amazing. She was walking me though the x-​rays and talking me through the whole process. & she then laid the news on me that I had FOUR cavities. & while cleaning my teeth she explained what she was doing, which was actually extremely refreshing & assuring. She also convinced me to buy an electric toothbrush (which I bought as soon as I left the office).
Dr. McDonald came in & asked me if I wanted to schedule my fillings for separate times & then we could take impressions. But I said «I’m here, might as well get all this over with.»
After spending about three hours in the chair, I actually left in a better mood than what I came in with.
The dentist & the other hygienist (Frannie, she is the BEST) were also walking me through what they were doing. I never thought it was possible to laugh during getting your fillings done, but with them it’s possible.
They are extremely knowledgeable staff that seem like they really enjoy what they are doing. Their chipper demeanor really rubs off on patients, and makes them feel comfortable. Not that scary dentist office feeling. They talk you though all the steps, and suggest what they feel is best for you. They honestly seem to put how the patient feels over making money in this office, which is a really great feeling.
I totally found a new dentist.

The front staff is exceptional. I got to chat with Dawn during patient intake and she was funny and super nice. I used my groupon for X-​rays and cleaning. My teeth were so clean when I left you would have thought I went in for whitening! Frank, the one who did my cleaning, saved me a round of whitening strips! Not only that, he was super gentle. I’m kinda skittish when it comes to people poking around at my teeth but I was super comfortable with him. Truly a gifted hand. Then Dr. McDonald came in, gave me the news of my cavity (oops) but allowed me to schedule my filling when I wanted to. No pressure. And I had a price walking out of the door so I know how much to save up. No surprises. Very likely my entire family will switch over to them.
Highly recommended.

I had never been in a dentist’s chair and been happy. I had never left a dentist’s office in a better mood than when I walked in. I had never thought the dentist I had was any better than any other dentist I have ever seen. All of this was true until my visit to One Magnificent Smile.
It is very important for my work (and let’s face it, self-​esteem) that my appearance be not only professional, but attractive. Needless to say, having teeth that are EXTREMELY susceptible to stain+not enough money to have regular cleanings=very sad me every time I see a picture.
I was very excited but also extremely suspicious about the groupon offer that came up, but having no choice I purchased it and called the same day. The receptionist was very nice and helpfull, and this turned out to be true of the whole staff when I arrived for my appointment two weeks later.
My hygienist (Frank) was truly exceptional, spending a very long time doing an extremely careful and detailed cleaning and polish of my teeth. Before walking through the door, I thought the only way I would ever have even passable teeth again was through expensive whitening treatments I could never afford, and he more than proved me wrong. To be honest, I nearly lost it when I first saw my teeth in the mirror… it was incredible.
Next, the dentist came in and he was very nice, gentle and reassuring while being realistic about what work I needed to have done.
Unfortunately I do need some treatment (that I cannot yet afford), but when I somehow scrape up the money I will definitely be making the substantial trip out to OMS, because as I long as I live in Chicago I’ll never take my teeth anywhere else.

I purchased a Groupon for an exam, cleaning, and x-​rays here awhile back and decided it was time to use it. Scheduling the appointment was easy and I was able to make the request online… I received a response fairly quickly.
Front desk staff was very friendly, my check in was prompt. They took me to a private room to take my medical history, rather than having me fill out a form that no one even looks at. They told me everything each step of the way. The X Ray tech was very nice, very professional, as was the dental tech who cleaned my teeth. They were all very thorough and explained EVERYTHING.
Sadly, I will be needing a few fillings, but I was able to get prices before I left and there was absolutely zero pressure with returning. I will likely be going back for my follow up service. I was very pleased with the One Magnificent Smile.

I stumbled upon One Magnificent Smile on groupon. Naturally, I was a bit skeptical but was immediately relieved as soon as I walked in. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The hygienest that did my exam and cleaning did a great job. I hadnt been to a dentist in about four years and was really nervous about going back. The whole process was painless.
Jason McDonald was very friendly and professional. He explained everything to me in detail and made my return to the dentist chair a lot smoother than I expected.
All in all, a great dentist and a great staff. I will definitely be back for any dental work. Easily the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentists office.

I recently had to a wisdom tooth pulled and went to One Magnificent Smile. Since I have never had major dental work done I was very nervous but the friendly staff and the expertise of the Doctor made feel extremely comfortable. I didn’t feel one thing and my recovery was fast. I am very grateful to One Magnificent Smile for making everything very easy.
