PahRoo Appraisal & Consultancy was founded by Michael Hobbs, SRA, LEED GA. Michael Hobbs is an expert on Real Estate Appraisal, Property Valuation, Entrepreneurship, and Business Consulting. He is also an authority on sustainability and energy efficiency’s impact on property values. His firm is an Angie’s List 2012 Super Service Award Winner and top firm for four years in a row. He is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute and involved with the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

How do I appreciate Pahroo as a business? Appraisal excellence, accuracy, expertise and affordability all wrapped up in one. 100% reliability. Michael and his crew have decades in the business. They offer extensive knowledge of the residential and commercial appraisal market and that’s just for openers – you can also seek them out for knowledgeable assistance when it comes to long-​term real estate investment and development. Personally, I’ve know Michael for around 6 years. He served as President of My LeTip networking group. He gave more people business leads than anyone else. But that’s only incidental to my admiration and respect for him as a person of integrity, warmth and just someone who is fun to be with. If there were 10 stars to award he’d earn them from me. I used Pahroo for an appraisal on a two-​flat last year and was very happy with the experience. Very efficient and quick for scheduling and turn-​around. And after I read the report, I was able to get a lot of feedback and had a very long phone conversation with the appraiser about how (and if) the building would fit into my business plan, what he anticipated the neighborhood appreciation would look like, and really helped me formulate my five-​year-​plan for the building. Honestly, it felt more like a business consultation than a real estate appraisal.
Great company, great experience. If you have the chance to choose your appraiser, definitely go with them.

Pahroo did an appraisal of my two-​flat for a renovation loan. Michael was very professional and polite, and even spent extra time explaining the process and how the evaluation would be done. I’ve had another appraisal a few years ago and the guy didn’t even make eye contact or really do anything other than take a couple pictures and walk out. Working with Pahroo was a much better experience, and the appraisal itself was very fair. I read the report he sent and looked at the things he used to compare my place to, and I think it was a really good job – plus we got the loan, so no complaints there! I have no idea what Nick P’s issue was, but for an appraisal company, I thought this was a really nice company to work with.

Michael Hobbs is a very dynamic guy who is willing to help people throughout the moving process. His prices are comparable and the follow up I had to get everything done was excellent. I would definitely recommend giving their company a call!
