Papa Ray’s Pizza and Wings

Microwave my chicken one more time…

My unit nurses and I ordered a pizza with the works from here late last night/​early in the morning. Now, it might just be because nurses are known to never have lunch breaks and starve, but we jumped on that pizza like a pack of piranhas.
And it delivered. Not one of us had a complaint. We are in LOVE. Can’t wait to order again; let’s see if it holds up next time!

Took almost 3 hours to get my food delivered, when I called to check on it, she may have thought she put me on hold and said «do we even deliver over there, the food is right here». Then got back on the phone and said the food was on its way, I said I just heard you say the food was still there. After 45 minutes of still not seeing my food, I called again and she said well it is out for delivery. The delivery guy showed up who was very nice. The food was freezing cold. What a joke — i will never order from here again, there are plenty of places that can deliver pizza and wings.

This place is bomb and has probably saved my life a couple times with its late night delivery of hot delicious pizza. If you want Classic Italian with little scraps of mozzarella next to tiny basil leaves– this is not your pizza. This has a ton of melty gooey cheese and the veggie pizza is loaded with fresh veggies. So much love/​thank you Papa Rays.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for something that tastes amazing… but they are open until 2am, so if you’re drunk and looking for some greasy, fried food and carbs to soak up some of the alcohol in your system, this is the place for you. I have had their pizza and it wasn’t terrible (I’ve had worse here in Chicago) and a friend of mine had their cheesy bread, which was tasty… but I’d definitely recommend anything that comes out of their deep fryer.

Not the best wings in the world but good enough to keep coming back. I know this is gonna sound weird but they have good salads. BTW, gotta try out their Mac n cheese. Pizza is good as well.

Usually we order wings or pizza from Papa Ray’s and it’s pretty good food for it’s price, but today we ordered wings and there was hair cooked into the breading. Pretty much stopped eating it after that.
This may be a rare occurrence, but it’s worth giving your food a once over.

Decent giant slice/​drink combo like any other place in Chicago.
They also have some of the staple menu items of a pizza place like wings and cheesy bread none of which are memorable or forgettable. Its a solid «pass» but I would never go out of my way to get it.
Plus, the chicken wings suck.

Solid option for delivery. We ordered the mac & cheese with «all of the olives» as well as some wings, chicken fingers, a pizza and a salad.
The food showed up way quicker than expected and the quality was pretty good. Salad was fresh and great, chicken fingers were moist and the wings were meaty. I loved the mac & cheese with black, green and kalamata olives but the wife felt like it was too much. Regardless, we love the option to build your own mac & cheese.
As for the pizza? It was… good. Crust is a but dry but in general zero complaints!

Horrible service. Pizza was decent though.
Please do not ever order in! Go to them and eat if you must. they take forever to bring your pizza — it defeats the whole purpose of Pizza Deli!
Bad bad Bad in terms of delivery speed. It took us 1 hour and 46 minutes to get my pizza. And I live quite close to their place…

This is the worst pizza that I ever have had in my life. It’s always a bad sign when the employee bathroom does not have hand soap. I am quick to give praise when a place deserves it but this experience and pizza left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally.

I ordered from Papa Ray’s a few times. There was one night I had to work over night and they were about to close, but i still ordered online and they came right away. I was pretty surprised and the food was amazing! I have been ordering from them ever since. Highly recomment!

Dayum… Chang your name to Papa Salty’s. Salt. So much salt on everything. Rib tips were cooked well but so salty they were almost inedible. Like beef jerky. The «boneless wings» are just chicken tenders cut into bite size pieces. Pizza had barely any sauce and was crazy salty too. Stop with the salt. Seriously man, someone is going to get hurt.
Ive ordered here twice now, and it was the same both times Never again Papa Salty’s.

Sorry, but the wings just aren’t juicy or flavorful. Maybe its just the parmesan garlic ones. The pizza is also not great, but if you are starving it will suffice. The lunch specials are cheap, but being the food tastes so-​so, I guess you are getting what its worth. Always nice service there though.

No, this is not going to be the best pizza in Chicago. If that’s what you’re looking for, move along little doggie. BUT, if you are looking for a fast, cheap, good pizza (especially at 1 in the morning… you know who you are), this place is like a desert oasis. The pizza slices are literally bigger than your head. Literally. As in the actual measurements of the pizza are bigger than the width of my head. This is based on careful scientific research. Nasa approved.
If you call ahead, they can have your pizza ready in 5 minutes. I actually just did that, and am spending my five minutes writing this review.
I’ll be honest, I think they’re number 2 on my phone’s quick call list, and they’ve earned that spot.

This place never disappoints. You get what you get. Customer service has always been really good here, too. Stop in for a monster slice.

I really like this joint. They have descent coupons, ordering online is on par with the pizza industry, and the pizzas are consistently good.
Most of the pizzas I order are regular new york style. Customized I highly recommend adding extra cheese as one of your main ingredients. The mozzarella they add is a lot and extra gooey. Yeah!

Definitely giving Papa Ray’s 5 stars! Called in to ask if they could pleaseeeee make me a HEART SHAPED PIZZA… the guy who answered the phone and put me on hold told me they’d never done that before but they were going to try!
When i got there to pick up the pizza everyone was super sweet !! The cashiers again told me its not something they’d done before but since i was giving it to my bf who had a very bad day, they would make an exception.
They honestly went above and beyond what I expected! PLUS the pizza tasted delicios (thanks to the cooks)

This place is surely turning into a go to for me. Prices are on point, specials are in effect, and it’s waking distance. Just the fact that it shits all over Baccis is worth it. Better quality slices and sauce.
The main pickups are a slice, a calzone, wings, fries, and a salad. The slice alone is large and with fries plus drink will set you back only $ 6. I don’t like that they don’t half and half wings but since I’ve been frequenting regularly they make the exception. Definitely go for the garlic parm. I have to try the teriyaki soon. Their staple is the calzone and I know if my sister likes it it has to be good cause I’ll eat anything except for what my good friend Mel ever makes. I usually build my own with sausage, pepperoni, garlic, and basil. Bacon should get an addition next time. Ordered a salad once, chicken caesar, and even that was refreshing and large.
The menu has cut out coupons and they stick to them. The location itself is small but I like that they highlight the Sun Times on the wall for the day and have aTV if you’re waiting. The workers have always been on point and some even remember me. That’s either good memory or I have to switch it up some.
I haven’t stepped foot in a Baccis since I’ve learned of this place. Do the same.
