My parents had to take their dog here last minute for boarding overnight, and they were are saving grace! They took good care of her and even gave us an update via e-​mail. Absolutely phenomenal service!

They did such a great job on my cat. I am so happy to have found them. I will be a life long customer. They are all super nice and friendly and really make you feel comfortable leaving your baby with them. Great job!

Martha and her staff were extremely friendly! They were able to clip my chihuahua’s nails without a problem or having to use any kind of extreme force. My lab’s grooming/​bath was amazing! He was brushed so well, that he was not still shedding on the way home, like usual. Over all a great experience. I am definitely taking them back.

Just moved to this neighborhood and needed to find a new groomers for my dog. They were able to get me a next day appointment and were so welcoming when we arrived. They got my dog done quickly so I could go pick him up and he is very clean and smells great!

Only place I trust to give my kitty a lion cut! Fair prices. They do an amazing job, no choppy shaving. They also are very flexible with scheduling.

I have gone here a few times because of the convenient location in relation to where I live. Last time I picked my dog up, she had a disgusting rash on her leg that I had to treat with antibiotics and a nick on her tummy. Not to mention my dog was scared to go here, which should have clued me in. I will NEVER go back!

If you are ever not satisfied with the work the people here are very nice and would get your job done right. I really like this about them I usually take my puppy for his grooming but I wanted to try something different.

Patience is needed to take care of animals! There is so much patience and love shown to my animals I would never take them anywhere else! They love it there!

I have been taking my dog to Paradise Pet for over 7 years after a neighbor recommended Martha because he took his dog to her. Although I have moved away from the neighborhood, I still take my dog there because the service (bath, cut, nails) are thorough, the store is clean, he is not in a cage for longer than needed, and his cut last about 2 months which is a good value for the price. Several previous neighbors also take their dog to Paradise. It is very reliable. I highly recommend.

I created a Unilocal account solely to share my highest praise for Paradise Pet Salon and its owner, Martha. My two-​year-​old mini goldendoodle, Charlie, has been coming to Paradise for daycare as well as grooming since he was a puppy and I could not be happier with the service Martha provides. I originally chose Paradise for its location, but since moving to River North I continue to give my business because I know there’s no one who will care better for him in my absence.
Martha is the definition of a hardworking business owner who truly LOVES what she does — she is always cheerful, sweet, and will treat your pup as if he was her own. Charlie always leaves daycare worn out with a huge smile on his face. She is meticulous when grooming and I’ve always been pleased with the results. Her prices are extremely reasonable — quite possibly the best in the city — but she never skimps on the quality of service. The store has a particular scent from the soap she and her employees use to clean the space EVERY DAY. You will not find a groomer/​pet daycare as spotless as here. I could go on and on, but trust me when I say this is the best choice you could make for your pet! For the few who had unpleasant experiences, I can assure you that this is in no way the norm and nicks/​cuts come with the territory of unruly pets getting haircuts. Charlie has never once come home looking anything but 100% healthy and happy! I will continue to give Pardise Pet Salon my business as long as I’m in Chicago!

I’ve been coming here since the Houndry closed. I was a bit apprehensive because of the smaller size, but once my puppy started going to daycare, I realized this place was top notch. The owners even expanded the space. My pup comes home completely exhausted. Martha and Zully are friendly, gracious and sweet as hell to my little guy. He looks forward to coming every morning. They’ve even taught him a couple of cool tricks. Give em a try, Paradise won’t disappoint!

We took our kitten here to get her nails clipped before Christmas. We didn’t have an appointment but they took her right away and were fast, efficient and gentle! Suki hissed at the lady and wasn’t at all happy, but she handled it well and even gave us tips for Suki’s health and maintenance. We were very pleased!

Took my 10 month old long haired cat there for the first time. He got poop all over his back side (it was a pretty bad mess!) and they were conveniently open early for my cat emergency. I called, she said bring him in, and they called within a hour and a half to pick him up. He had never been groomed before so I was nervous but he really seemed fine. She did just what I asked (to shave his butt) and groomed him perfectly! Very convenient, fast, and thorough!

I moved to Chicago from DC in April & have been on the lookout for a good groomer. I am so glad I finally found my groomer! I took my 14 lb Schnoodle mix Ozzie in for his typical grooming (mostly shaving him down) & he looked amazing! I was so pleased with how my baby looked. She even was able to trim his nails which he usually never lets anyone do that! Will definitely be a returning customer :) he even came home with an adorable bow tie!

At first I was hesitant to bring my dog here b/​c of some of the reviews, but don’t let those fool you! It was a great experience for myself and my dog Sophie. When I arrived I was greeted and welcomed with a smile. My dog only requires a brush and bath, so I can’t speak for any grooming, but her service was great and she left looking clean and smells great! It was great b/​c when I arrived, Martha noticed her face needed to be washed again and washed it quickly. I appreciate the attention to detail!
I would recommend and will return in the future.

I just recently moved a few blocks from Paradise Pet Salon and was looking to send my dog somewhere and since it was 2 blocks away I decided why not try it. I first went in after taking Gabby on a walk just to scope it out and see what the prices were. Martha was extremely nice and wanted me to know everything she would do and how affordable the service for her to get shaved was. In my small hometown I paid about 55.00 for Gabby to get everything done and here only 60.00, I thought that was a great price. Gabby had a great experience here! I took her in in the morning and in the afternoon I picked her up and she looked awesome. Would totally go back again.

I’ve been looking for a good groomer that listens to how I want my dog’s haircut to be like. Martha listened and delivered! My dog was happy and calm when I picked him up and looked great! This is definitely going to be my place to take my dog for his grooming. Her staff is also very nice and helpful. I love that they take walk-​ins and they have cute things for sale

It’s unfortunate that so many people have posted negative reviews about this place. Martha was extremely accommodating to my dog Maisy and I. Maisy is a 2 year old king charles cavalier. I have always cut her myself, and was nervous about taking her to a new groomer, for the first time to get her a puppy cut for the summer.
Martha was able to accommodate me and Maisy the same day, and Maisy looks wonderful. The puppy cut is perfect for and we are both extremely happy.
Great rates. Great service. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you away — just remember there is always one negative nancy out there who’s got an issue with the world.

We have have taken our dog to Martha on and off for several years. We stopped a couple of years ago because the price was expensive, always different. And our dog was always freaked out after. He would drink water like had hnone all day. And I doubt they ever took out after he was in a crate for 8 hours. But we took him back because he is old and has a hard time getting out of the car now and they are close. Well that was a mistake.
When I went to pay and pick him up, she said there was an extra surcharge because he was old. When I asked to see the posted price, she just claimed she didn’t have to show me anything. I refused to pay the extra surcharge, she argued with me for 10 minutes. Then told me she didn’t need my business and don’t come back. I paid the $ 40 on my credit card and left. On the way home, my dog limped and walked sideways. He had never done that before in his life.
2 weeks later when I got the credit card statement and she had charged me $ 80 by writing in a $ 40 tip for herself. When I confronted her, she claimed my dog was old and she earned. it.
Martha is rude, unprofessional and unethical. Double check your credit cards to make sure she is not writing in special tips after you leave.
