History

Established in 2000.

Launched as a continuation of a much beloved home décor store that Schulman owned and operated in Milwaukee, Paul Schulman Design (PSD) opened in Chicago in 2000, focusing on custom furniture, millwork and interior design. In the last few years, PSD has combined these offerings to add comprehensive home renovation services to its portfolio, with a special emphasis on the conversion of traditional «two flat» buildings into incomparable single family homes with all the character and integrity of a vintage building and all the modern amenities of contemporary design. With decades of experience in both construction and design — and an overriding commitment to customer collaboration, customer satisfaction and complete transparency — PSD provides clients with an opportunity to truly own and understand their design experiences and with everything from complete renovation services to the perfect built-​in book case.

After receiving his B.F.A from Washington University in St. Louis and his Master’s in Sculpture from UW– Madison, Paul Schulman combined his interests in both design and construction to create Paul Schulman Design (PSD), a comprehensive custom furniture, millwork, interior design and home renovation business. With over a decade of experience serving both residential and commercial clients in the Chicago area and across the country, Paul Schulman’s work has been recognized by LUXE, Chicago Home, Midwest Home Magazine, Met Home, and the Chicago Tribune. Paul Schulman was also named Best Furniture Maker by Chicago Magazine in 2007.
