I have worked with Peter for several years now, first on refinances and most recently on a new home purchase. He is phenomenal on the deal side — organized, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable — and has truly become a trusted adviser.
Peter goes way beyond just low rates and low closing costs (which are important) but provides so much more. He’s the kind of guy that when you ask him what he thinks, he actually tells you what he thinks. So refreshing. He’s also the hardest working and nicest guy you’ll come across, and is very approachable and accessible for questions and concerns through the process. Anyone who has ever gone through the toils of getting a mortgage loan knows that there are few processes more complicated and stressful in life. Gathering up financial records, credit reports and tax returns and then worrying about appraisals and approval in the current economy can certainly lead to some sleepless nights.
Peter Alving makes this whole complicated procedure much less agonizing. His professionalism was evident from our first conversation. He knows his stuff, from working with imperfect credit scores to finding creative financing in a market where mortgages have been tough to come by. Every stumbling block that came up was handled promptly with grace and a very reassuring sense of calm. Peter’s whole professional demeanor comes across as «Don’t stress yourself out. I’ve got this.»
I’ve personally worked with Peter two mortgages and two refinances now, and I also referred my sister to him for her mortgage. I couldn’t be more happy with the way he handled our business and I would highly recommend him to anyone who gets hives at the thought of signing over their life to buy a new house.

We moved again and bought a house on the south side for our growing family. Before we did, we contacted Peter to discuss our options for mortgages and current rates. He was awesome, again. He got us a ridiculous rate and everything went exceptionally smooth. He really is our «go to» guy and I wouldn’t even consider using another broker.

Peter is super knowledgeable, thorough, accessible, and easy breezy beautiful to deal with! He was able to answer all my quirky questions, explore various home financing options, and of course got us an awesome rate. He was with me from day one to the day of closing which he attended. I started my mortgage process with BoA, which was a complete disaster. They were unresponsive and incredibly slow. I literally couldn’t get anyone from BoA on the phone. My real estate broker recommended that I switch to Peter.
To be totally honest, I had serious reservations about switching mortgage brokers mid-​stream. Switching mortgage brokers to Peter was one of the best decisions I made. Not only was Peter able to complete everything in about 3 weeks (including the City’s Tax Smart Program), he did so at a better rate and with lower closing costs than BoA offered me. In addition to a quick turn around, he was incredibly personable and thorough in walking me through my purchase. The closing went incredibly smoothly and Peter was there to handle any last minute issues that arose. I recommend Peter and Pacor without reservation to anyone.
