I went in for bronchitis and could hardly breath. The doctor there was excellent-​very helpful and courteous. In fact, the whole staff from the front desk lady to the nurse and doctors there at the time were very friendly, kind, professional and genuinely nice people. The wait to get in was only a few minutes. I highly recommend this Urgent Care Center.

Great doctor, wonderful staff. Very knowledgable. I was sick with a strep throat and a fever of 110, I was shivering. I rushed to see the doctor the staff took me in right away after notice I couldn’t speak and my cough was horrible. Dr. Senno is a wonderful man. He will care for you as you are his own. Very honest man. Gave me my meds told me to stay in bed for two days and I will be back to normal, surely I was. Thanks again.

Horrible. Dr. Senno is unprofessional and barely listened to me when I described my injuries. He prescribed me a medication I was unable to take as it interacts with another medication I prescribed, which I told him about. I’m glad I checked with my regular physician before taking it, or else things could’ve been very bad. I called the next day to discuss other options and couldn’t even get anyone to pick up, and when I finally did, they were unable to get in touch with the doctor. Finally heard from him 48 hours later, and he demanded I come in again before correcting the mistake he made with the prescription, which was impossible as I was very injured and had no one to drive me to the clinic. A complete nightmare, I would sew myself up with a rusty needle before returning here.

Not only is it a dingy location, lots of circular stairs impossible to navigate with a stroller, but they have no doctors.
Their hours were listed on the door as open from 10 am until 8 pm today. At 10 am I managed to wind my way up with two kids in tow to the front desk. I explained I have come into contact with 3 people with pneumonia, and I have a cough that won’t go away. I am extremely contagious.
She told me there were no doctors there yet, that the doctor wouldn’t arrive until 2 pm. What is the point of having hours of operation when your business will be unable to serve its function?
I went to the Walgreens on Ridge and Clark instead. They were able to see me within 20 minutes.

I give this clinic a BIG 0!!! I went in for a TB test. First the nurse told me I did n’t have to pay, which I repeated that yes I did because it was not for employment only for student teaching. I get the test and she tells me that I can come in at the earliest 48 hours, which was a Sunday. She did not at all explain to me that the test must be read within a certain amount of time or I would have to take it over again. I have been in bed sick the past two days and today is now Tuesday morning and I went to get it read. They tell me that I HAVE to redo the test because I waited too long and then told me that it had to be done within 48 – 72 hours. I explained to them that the nurse did not tell me that it had to be read or I would have to redo it. Don’t you think that if I knew that I would have drug my sick butt out of bed to get it read rather that paying another $ 25? But they did not care. They want their money and want to make me pay ANOTHER $ 25 because their nurse is incompetent. The least they could have done was apologize for the misunderstanding and redo the test at their expense considering they are the ones that did not explain it properly. The nurse barely knew what she was doing to begin with. She had to «ask someone» for answers. Poor customer service. I would never recommend this place for a TB test let alone any other ailment. They are a hole in the wall that just wants to take your money!!!

1 nurse not showing up is apparently an excuse for a 2 hour wait time to get called in and a 3 hour wait time on top of that to get taken care of.unbelievable. Very unprofessional clinic.

My PCP is in Wisconsin and I don’t feel the need to seek medical help very often so when I have, it is good to know that there this urgent care relatively close to me in Chicago. I have been here twice in the last two years and… I didn’t think I would need to return a second time, so I didn’t look for a PCP in Chicago after that. That being said after my last visit, I will definitely be looking for one in Chicago or make the trek back to Wisconsin.
My first visit was fine — a little slow in terms of finally being able to see the doctor, but it was a standard urgent care visit.
During my second visit I could tell that the staff had changed. They worked quickly, were very friendly, and one of them even saved me from the dreaded Dr. Kwon…
I knew I had pink eye, so I just wanted to get a prescription for eye drops and go home since I had to leave work early. I told Dr. Kwon I needed to get back to work (…he’s the one that asked!), so I assumed he’d be prompt and work quickly. WRONG.
For 30 — 35 minutes, I had to listen to him talk about which political leader (s) have ruined the US and how if I want to be successful in my life, I need to change my name to something Americanized. Kinda’ racially offensive, right? The «name change» topic was the bulk of our conversation and it ended when I got so fed up that I said very rudely, «I’m doing quite well for myself, thanks.» The very kind nurse must have heard me, must know that he does this a lot, and told him to hurry up because I needed to go back to work.
I can’t even explain how miserable my last visit was because of this. Although the nurses were great, I will not be coming back here if I’m going to be stuck with «medical professionals» like him. I’m very grateful to have an urgent care near me with a great staff for the most part, but it’s time that I look for a PCP or hightail it back to WI for doctor’s visits.

My boyfriend & I had the almost the exact experience here, as the reviewer from 3÷12÷14 had. Eerily similar.
We have been here 2x for my boyfriend:
The 1^st time (around 3÷11÷13) was OK – there was a parking lot in the back for patients, the location was far away for us, but that was OK, the staff were cordial, the Medical Asst’s were fine. Nothing that wowed us– it is really a no frills office. There are no computers in the Urgent Care bed area, for the Dr to enter in your vitals or what you are being seen for, or the progress of your vitals from one medical asst to the next – Nothing like that. We are in the year 2013 – please start using computers!
The 2^nd time (around 3÷12÷14) was not great at all. My boyfriend hasn’t been to the Dr in awhile so when my bf said he had to go to the Urgent Care place-​for pain in his belly & back, I knew he was in a great amount of pain. He had forced himself to puke, because he was so nauseaous. We rushed up here, checked him in, I filled out the paperwork clearly stating what was wrong with him. There were 2 people playing on their phones in the lobby, ahead of us. My bf was constantly throwing up in the bathroom (btw: you can hear everything thru those bathroom walls), and I thought they would have called his name first. He was pacing and shivering because he felt terrible. But we waited till they called his name. We get to a room w/​a curtain & the 1^st Medical Asst doesn’t look at the papers but asks why my boyfriend is there. My bf answers. The Medical Asst (kind of hard to understand, as English wasn’t his 1^st language, and we only speak English) takes vitals & then says the Dr will be in. We never see the 1^st Medical Asst again. A different Medical Asst comes in & asks again why are we here? My bf is puking and answers the question AGAIN. The Medical Asst then says «Oh it sounds like a ulcer». I work in a Clinic & I know Medical Assts aren’t supposed to diagnose patients.
The Dr then comes in. Dr Kwon (I don’t recommend anyone see this Dr) – and doesn’t look at the vitals or anything written in the chart. He asks my boyfriend what is wrong AGAIN. They give him a shot for nausea. My boyfriend feels a tiny bit better until Dr Kwon starts talking. Dr Kwon heard that my boyfriend had terrible belly pain, his upper back hurt, & that he induced his own vomiting — and asked what did you eat for dinner last night? I said Pizza. He said. BINGO– it’s food poisoning. My boyfriend said NO it’s not, but Dr Kwon refused to listen. He also said inappropriate comments to my bf – and I quote: «You could go 10 days without eating, with all that fat you have on your body.» NO KIDDING! My bf is 6ft4in & weighs 190 if you must know. Dr Kwon also made inappropriate jokes about Billy Graham. The 2^nd Med Asst was actually more sympathetic, helpful, and most likely correct on the the ulcer!
We are in the process of getting my bf’s medical records from here, hopefully that goes smoothly.
We will be choosing a new urgent center – and I will attempt to tell someone at this Urgent Center about our unhappy experience.
Maybe this place is better for VERY minor ailments. I’m normally a positive person, but I just can’t recommend this place.

Was referred here when the Walgreens clinic down the street decided to close a half hour early. The facilities did seem a little dated, but the staff was friendly and professional. I had a uti, which unfortunately I am very familiar with, & had my dr been available I just would have had her call in a prescription. The urgent care Dr gave me solid advice that I have heard from other professionals & sent my pee to the lab for a culture, which is also customary. Overall a good experience.

I’ve been to the Peterson Urgent Care Center about four times now for a variety of ailments. the setting seems a little outdated, but the customer service and patient care was spot on. the physicians I saw were able to accuratly diagnose my issue and offer me reasonable care. I checked ahead of time if they were covered by my insurance (as one ought to do before going to any medical setting), so my copay was only the rate set in my insurance providers handbook (pricier than a regular MD appointment, but less than an ER visit). I have been in and out of the facility in less than 45min each time.

Service was pretty good. I got what I needed and didn’t have to wait long at all.
My issue is with the billing. I received a $ 200 bill for services two years prior. I paid part of it and then realized it was wrong.
CHECK WHAT YOUR INSURANCE COVERED! Not only did they not credit my insurance, I had already sent them a check for the balance OVER A YEAR AGO! They couldn’t find it so I had to send a copy of the cashed check and insurance claim notice. Now I am waiting on my refund which was supposedly issued to me 9 days ago, but still has not shown up.
When I called to check today, someone answered, asked me what I needed and then started talking to someone in the background while I was explaining. She then said, «Yeah, sure. Hold on honey.» Someone eventually took me off hold and asked me who I was holding for. I started to say that I didn’t know b/​c I don’t think the first girl was listening to my issue. .. and CLICK– she hung up on me!
Terrible customer service– if you can call it that. I have a feelign my refund has not even been issued!

Glad that this place is out there to do the stuff Walgreens and CVS won’t do when my doctor is away, and I did see a sweet-​souled doctor, but, hey, everything about this place screams «low rent, shoestring, get-​it-​done-​for-​less.»
I showed up to complain about traveler’s belly, and the doctor wrote it up as a level III visit. Yikes. Seems like churning business to me…
Btw: the doctor ordered bloodwork and other tests, of course, and no one bothered to report on the findings. If I had not called nine days later, I wouldn’t have even known the results were negative. Unprofessional – and in sync with the kind of half-​assed joint this seems to be. Avoid if you can.

My two-​star review is based on three visits there. The first two visits were fine, although the doctor checked to see if my toe was broken by having me walk ON my toes. He said, «See, if it was broken, you would have been in excruciating pain.» Um. Thank you. The second visit, for bronchitis, was quite good. The staff was friendly and the doctor actually seemed to listen to me. Both of these visits were with a male doctor.
Since I’d had two decent experiences here, I went back last night, worried that I might have suffered a concussion earlier in the day. The receptionist was perfectly friendly, although they had no record of my medical history or previous visits (which were less than a year ago) – and they did not ask me to fill out my medical history. They didn’t even ask me why I was there until the male nurse started taking my blood pressure. And that’s where it all went downhill.
First off, I’ve had my blood pressure checked many times before. It’s always a bit uncomfortable, but it’s usually over in, maybe, 30 seconds or so. Well, this guy hooked me up to a machine, which proceeded to squeeze my arm tighter than it’s ever been squeezed. Talk about excruciating pain. This was so painful I could barely breathe. And it went on and on and on. So, of course, that’s precisely when the nurse chose to ask why I was there. The blood pressure sleeve’s death grip made it hard to focus, but I told him that I was worried that I might have had a concussion earlier in the day. He didn’t say anything (I don’t think he understood my English, actually), then asked me the same question again. I told him the blood pressure machine was really incredibly painful – and asked if it would be done soon. He ignored this and repeated, «So, what is your problem, I asked you?’» I said, «Yes, it’s just hard to talk, with this gripping my arm so tightly. «He said, «Just ignore that. What’s wrong with you?»
When he finally took the death vice off, my arm was bright red and sore (and it’s still tender today, 15 hours later). As I massaged my assaulted arm, I told him about how, as I was babysitting yesterday morning, the plastic jungle gym (which I was sitting underneath) collapsed on my head when the boy I babysit for jumped on it. It was a quick, painful blow. After that, I felt sort of «fuzzy» and – after a few hours – I developed a headache.
Then, the doctor (a woman with relatively dark skin, with an accent – possibly Middle Eastern) entered the room. She did not say hello or introduce herself. I finally said «Hi,» forcing her to grudgingly say it back. She said, «What’s the problem?» The nurse responded by saying, «She has a headache.» Since he didn’t elaborate – and I didn’t want to look like an idiot who visits a doctor every time she gets a headache – I said, «Well, I’m actually worried that I might have had a concussion earlier. I…» But the doctor cut me off, saying, «Why would you say that? Why are you ‘self-​diagnosing?’» Taken aback, I said, «OK, well, maybe if I explained what happened…» So, I started to tell the doctor the same story I told the nurse (since he obviously wasn’t going to share it). I got as far as: «While I was babysitting…» Then the doctor cut me off again, saying, «Hold on. Hold on. Just hold on. When was this?» I said, «Oh, this morning.» She said, «This morning? Then why are you coming in now (at 7:30 pm)? Why would you wait? Why would you do that?» (This was especially rich, since she hadn’t even allowed me to tell her WHAT happened that morning. And, if I wasn’t allowed to «self-​diagnose» that it might be a concussion, then why would I have thought it necessary to see a doctor right after the incident?).
I said, «Forget it. Just forget it. I’m not going to sit here and take this. This is ridiculous. I’m leaving.» I got up, grabbed my purse, and opened the curtain. I think one or both of them said something, to try to convince me how unreasonable I was being, but I blurted out, «No, I don’t like either one of you, and there’s no way I’m going to stay here and subject myself to your complete and utter rudeness.» I stormed out. When I got to the receptionist’s desk, I told her, «I don’t like that doctor. All she did was criticize me. I’m leaving, and I’m not paying. Thank you.» She looked a little surprised but said, «OK.» So I left. And I ain’t going back as long as that woman doctor works there! It’s too bad, because they are the ONLY urgent care clinic open past 8 pm in Chicago – and aside from her (the male nurse also needs to learn better bedside manners and English – but he wasn’t horrible), they are decent.
My advice: call ahead and ask who the doctor on duty is. If it’s a woman (sorry – don’t know her name), DO NOT GO THERE. Seriously. Don’t subject yourself to her attempts to belittle you for 1.) being knowledgeable about your ailments and 2.) NOT being knowledgeable enough about them. No one needs that, especially if you aren’t feeling well.
OK: her name was Dr. Ateinza. Avoid her!!!

Just what I needed.
Normally when I get sick, I get SICK. Emergency room, surgery, and hospital stay type sick.
It was refreshing to feel a normal type of illness. In fact, I did not really realize that i was going down hill for a couple of days, I just could not figure out why I wanted to sleep ²⁴⁄₇. I mean, my throat hurt, I was wheezing a bit, but really, this felt like nothing. By the third day of non stop sleep, not eating, and no energy, I realized that I had a bit more than a cold and most likely needed to get to a doctor. Since it was the weekend, I was not going to get into any of mine. I also knew that my immune system was not in good shape and it was better (once I finally realized I was ill) to take care of it before it got worse. And worse/​bad is what I am used to dealing with and do not want.
I knew this place was not far away and hopped in the car and headed over.
They were friendly, quick, helpful, did not freak out at my strange and rare other conditions, and quickly grabbed a throat culture. We talked about drugs, I was given a prescription and a recommendation for an over the counter med to accompany my antibiotic.
I paid my 20 $ Aetna PPO copay and was out the door. Quick, painless, helpful. That is how I like my doctors visits to be!

My 2 yr. old was sick with fever for over 5 days and I couldn’t afford my insurance’s ER copay so her doctor’s office recommended Peterson Urgent Care. I went on on Saturday afternoon and there was hardly anyone. The facilities are nothing special but they are clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly, helpful & thorough.
The doctor attending to my daughter was Dr. Comrov who is both a Physician & Surgeon. He was very kind & thorough. He explained everything in detail and was attentive to my questions & concerns.
The final bill was affordable and I’m very grateful I was able to bring my daughter here with sort time * limited funds.

I have been here twice for the same issue — getting antibiotics for a UTI. My first visit several months ago was fine. My last visit was last week and it was not such a pleasant time. This youngish looking gal who didn’t look old enough to be a Dr came in and asked a couple questions and was not very friendly. She consulted with another Dr, Dr. Atienza who came in. The first thing she said to me was «what are you doing wrong that keeps giving you this problem?» Meanwhile, the young Dr just stood there staring at me. I left with my prescription and they told me to call in a few days if symptoms weren’t improving.
A couple days later lo and behold the antibiotics weren’t working. I called the place and the lady at the front desk proceeded to tell me that not enough time had passed yet. I explained to her that I had taken this medication twice before and usually it works right away. She still said it hadn’t been long enough but that a doctor would call me back. 4 hours later the receptionist called me back with the same story.
Well today I came back in with the same complaint. They had me sit and wait til finally it was time for me to go to class. I told the old woman at the front desk I needed to go and she rolled her eyes.

Spending time in an ER or in a doctor’s office is, in my opinion, a huge waste of time. Especially when you know exactly what prescription you need, but you still have to wait 2 hours for the doctor to tell you what you already know. This was the case for me when i waited too long to get my pink eye checked out.
I woke up and decided it was time to do something. I knew i needed some antibiotic eye drops, but i just wanted to get them and go. I went to Peterson about 11am, and was out 11:45am with my prescription. The staff is really nice, and the doctors explain what you need to know thoroughly.
i would definitely go here again for immediate care. it isn’t hectic like an ER (or crappy Swedish Covenant Hospital right up the road) and it’s very clean. Overall, very easy, painless, and comfortable experience.
Minus 1 star because when the doctor came in, he had the paperwork for the wrong patient. Not a big deal in my situation, but i can see how it might affect someone with a more serious condition while trying to come up with the proper diagnosis.

These folks are very unprofessional. I went there with my boyfriend and after his appointment, I could hear the flippant doctor discussing his condition, very loudly with the receptionist in the next room.
One gets the sense that everyone there, including the doctors, got their education via a correspondence school. You can get cheaper, better, less degrading care at CVS Minute Clinic.

Walk-​in clinics can be great — especially if you don’t have insurance and would prefer not to go to an ER.
I was having a lot of abdominal pain, more that just cramps. Decided I should eventually get some care, and was just going to go to an ER. But the roommate suggested trying clinics first.
LADIES: If you’re having any sort of pain or issues or WHATEVER with your body… GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
This doctor was convinced that it was some sort of pregnancy issue. Nope. Not at all pregnant. The pelvic exam he gave was the most uncomfortable in my life. And that’s saying something for pelvic exams. First off, you’re in a little «room» which is just closed off with a curtain, and not very well. And then the doctor just… something didn’t sit right with me and he just made me uncomfortable and that’s the last area I wanted him near.
The only thing I thank him for is telling me to get an ultrasound, which ended me up at Swedish Covenant. (He said to get it done that day, but failed to set up an appointment for me.) I ended up in the ER, and later was admitted to the hospital where I got the treatment I needed from the beginning.
This place is probably good for sprains or cuts or colds. But I don’t really want to go back.

So news flash – brand new knives? Pretty sharp. While trying to make dinner, I decided to grab a new knife. Not really sure what happened, but two seconds later, I had a huge cut on my pinky. That hurt. When my husband and our friend who was coming over for dinner came home, they were like, oh seriously. Both of them are big fans of the Urgent Care so that is where we went.
We got there at 8:15 and really got the last appt of the day. The nurse was really sweet and the doctor was also really nice. Four stitches later and lots of gauze, I am well on my way to recovery.
It is kind of a no frills kind of place. I mean super no frills. Dont expect anything fancy. They only charge $ 20 and will charge your insurance. They took me in when the clinic was closing and they didnt have to. They were nice. Let’s hope I dont have to go back, but I am glad to know that it is there.
