I ordered food from this Pita Pit today. I got the Buffalo Chicken Pita. When my food was delivered there was no buffalo sauce on the sandwich, instead they used barbecue sauce. When I called about it they told me they used barbecue sauce mixed with buffalo sauce, which, a) isn’t what’s advertised and, b) definitely didn’t have any Buffalo sauce in it. I spoke to Manny who said he was the manager and was totally unapologetic and argued with me. Appallingly bad form. Shocked they don’t hear this more often.

I love it! I’ve been here only twice, and both times were an amazing experience. The first time I tried this place was kind of a shot in the dark. I mean I walk pass a lot, but I never would of entered if I didn’t have friends with me. Anyway there was a young lad, he wore glasses and had blondish hair, and he was the only one there and it was a little busy, but yet he still mange to keep good customer service. The second time there were three employees there, two ladies and a gent, the were very friendly, and funny and made me feel welcomed, not to mention that the customer service was on point. I bought the same thing twice, which was the philly rap. And it was amazing. There are so many different toppings to choose from, its incredible. From the outside looking, I thought it to be a veggies kinda place, but I was wrong, they do both meat and veggie. Ever since I’ve started going here I’ve never been back to Subway, this place is just so much better.

This place opened in the spring and I can’t believe I just went there now. I feel like I’ve wasted so many months NOT eating here. It’s like Subway in the making-your-own-sandwhich way. You choose the meat. You choose the white or wheat pita. You choose the veggies, the cheese, and the sauces. It’s not like Subway because it actually tastes good. They grill the meat right in front of you(and will melt your cheese or grill your veggies if you ask!). All the toppings are fresh and the end product is seriously delicious. Added bonus: breakfast pitas served all day! Additional bonus: open until 4 am. Another added additional bonus: the staff is super friendly. The first time I went in, the guy was ultra helpful, they had«beer pong… but with water» set up(I won a free drink!) and all pitas were 4.99. The second time it was pretty late, and a guy who I assume is a manager was working all by himself. It was kind of busy, and we waited a while for our pitas, but this guy was GOOD. He remembered everything everyone said to him, even after making a bunch of pitas beforehand! My friend and I complimented him, and he said it was slow, so he had to send his staff home, but then it got busy. Props to him! Wish I knew his name!

This building was under construction for what, 2 years? And then finally it’s completed and we see a sign saying«Exciting New Retail Announced Soon». Shortly after, Pita Pit enters which seems like a dull addition to our community. There’s already Le Pita Fresh down the street and SP Kebab up the street. I finally try it out tonight for the first time. I order online and it says it’s available for pickup in 18 minutes. I get there and wait an additional 20 minutes for my chicken pita. The clerk apologizes, but it was not busy enough in there to warrant it taking 38 minutes to make it. After eating it, I was not impressed either. It was edible, but definitely nothing to write home about. Instead I’ll write Unilocal, and I will go somewhere else next time.

As a vegetarian I was not pleased to see the falafel cooked on the same grill as the meat items. When the owner is present the cook is careful not to mix the veg and the meat, but when he is not there, the vegetarian dishes are cooked on top of the meat residue, it is not even cleaned first. Will not be returning unless they get a veggie dedicated stove.

Finally went to the Pita Pit by Loyola after staring at it for over a month. I thought it was great! It’s like chipotle but you’re putting everything in a pita instead, except with WAY more options. They have a bunch of preselected combinations on the menu or you can totally customize. I did chicken and ham with green pepper and onion on the grill. They can grill whatever cheese and veggies you want with your meet which is nice! When they’re finished they roll your pita up and it stays together much better than a chipotle burrito. I thought the kids working were very nice and helpful on my first ever visit. My pita was delicious and I can’t wait to try other combinations. This is a great, healthy and fast meal and I can’t see any reason to dock them in this review. Good work Pita Pit!

There’s a new restaurant in town and it’s serving up some pretty healthy and tasty sandwiches, say hello to Pita Pit! Located very close to Loyola University Pita Pit is a great place to stop if you are craving something that not only tastes good but is fairly healthy too! Upon entering you will find a comfortable relaxed atmosphere, and you can either pick what you want from the menu boards or take a paper version of the menu, that’s what I did because Lord knows I have 53 year old eyes and can’t read the menu board very well. There are many varieties of Pita’s you can choose from, Meat Pitas, Veggie Pitas, if you crave breakfast they have Breakfast Pitas too! And, okay for those of you that have a munchkin 12 or under they even have a kid’s pita for said munchkin. And, they offer something called Fork Style where you can order the pita of your choice as a salad, boy, do I like this! And you can make your meal a combo with sides if you choose and if you want double meat you just know there will be an additional charge. And for those of you that think the Coke Freestyle Machine is the greatest thing ever, well, actually the second greatest, The Genie Bra is first without a doubt! Okay, yes, they have a Coke Freestyle Machine! There are nice young people working at Pita Pit too, I met Kamil today who was a pretty cool guy even if I say so myself! So, Welcome to Loyola Pita Pit, you are a great addition to the neighborhood! May you sell many pitas! Wishing you every success, truly.
