I’m a big fan of potbelly but this location consistently and unapologetically gets orders wrong. Whether in person or over the phone. It won’t stop me from coming, but It is frustrating. I come here almost once a week and enjoy their food, but the service is lacking for sure.

This place has both Coke and Pepsi products. I like to think of this as the people’s Potbelly.

Very pleased with the service Javier was charming from the start. Robin assembled my sandwich to perfection. This place has a class act. Thank you!

This Potbelly location is fantastic. The food is always consistent and the delivery is nearly as quick as Jimmy John’s! You can’t go wrong! If you’ve never tried Potbelly before I highly recommend the Wrek, Chicken Salad Sandwich and their cookies. Once you try it once, you’ll be a fan for life!

For a chain sandwich shop, this is about as good as it gets. I rate this Potbelly higher since the workers almost always are friendly and have a good attitude.

Slowest service ever and for a sandwich shop especially. They weren’t very friendly either. Not a typical potbelly stop for me. I was disappointed and usually I love potbelly’ s service. The pulled pork sandwich is just okay. I’m from the south and it does not compare to real bbq.

I went to this location specifically for a strawberry shake. I ordered then went to pay and realized I forgot my wallet. I said I would rerun shortly so I asked please set aside so I can get my wallet. When I returned the clerk forgot to mention before I left they are out of strawberries. Well not exactly. They are froze in the back. Really? You couldn’t tell me that before I left or u couldn’t thaw them for the next several customers ordering strawberry shakes?! So frustrating :(

I was a little disappointed in this location. I love Potbelly and eat it whenever I am in Chicago but my bread was all torn up, the mayo only made it on half the sandwich and she talked over me when I was trying to tell her what I wanted.

Potbelly is always a good choice if you’re looking for a quick bite and something relatively healthy. They have a decent menu with great choices at a great value. I’m addicted to the skinny pair– a sandwich and a side of soup. The spicy black bean soup is a must order, if available, but the cheddar broccoli and loaded potato are great too. The chili is pretty average and when you ask for cheese on top it’s just a slice. I’ve been to this location a few times. The place is usually pretty clean and the staff is available and courteous but I wouldn’t say they are as friendly as some other locations– the reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. P. s. order the chocolate cookie brownie – you won’t be disappointed.

I recently moved to Chicago from the west coast and have heard such good things about Potbelly’s. I went into this location, which is down the street from my house expecting to find a go to sandwich shop for those busy days when I do not feel like making dinner. Boy was I ever disappointed. Another reviewer compared them to Quiznos. I think that is fair for the most part. Potbelly’s definitely has a cozier atmosphere, but I think Quiznos makes a better sandwich. Their motto of fresh ingredients, short wait, and friendly service was interesting. Especially since my service was far from friendly. I was given nothing but attitude throughout my ordering process, and my sandwich was only mediocre. They were quick which was nice and the ingredients seemed fresh. The sandwich was just kind of bland. My favorite part was the bread. It was very good. I may try another Potbelly’s location to see if I can find better service, but I probably will not return to this location.

I’m writing a review for their business practices. I think it’s important for anyone who orders from here to know that the delivery fee applied to an order does not go to the delivery driver whatsoever. Their delivery drivers deliver on bicycle and all repairs to their bikes come from their own pocket. Delivery fees not going to employees isn’t a huge shock or anything, but it is also not mentioned anywhere in the ordering process or on the receipt. When an order is over a certain amount, the delivery fee rises. Again, this still does not go to the person who is on the bike out in the wind/cold/rain/snow delivering your food. Please keep this in mind when tipping after ordering from here. Those delivery drivers absolutely deserve it.

My order? Chicken Salad Salad with no cheese please– add cranberries, croutons, nuts, cucumber and a side of fat free dressing… It is fast, delicious and makes me feel really good. So too does the live guitarist who plays really well even in the crush of the lunch rush– makes the time in line enjoyable… And I say this as someone who doesn’t always have the time or patience to wait in line(yeah, you try to cram all your errands in a swiftly decreasing 30 minute bracket!). Add a Diet Coke or if I’m really craving the indulgent– a Dr. Pepper and a chocolate brownie cookie, yum!

I’ve always frequented the Belmont Potbelly location since it’s closer to my apartment, but this afternoon, my boyfriend and I were looking for some sandwiches to be delivered(and we needed them within the hour). We called the Belmont Potbelly Sandwich Shop, and they said it would take over an hour and a half for us to receive our delivery… Mind you, we are about 5 blocks away. I called this location, and spoke with a wonderful woman on the phone who was so accommodating and made sure we received our order 30 minutes after we placed it. When the delivery guy showed up, he was wearing only a denim jacket and a scarf. I thanked him x1,000 and told him about my experience with the Belmont location’s delivery services. He told me they probably were taking it slow on deliveries since it’s, like, –100 degrees today. I was under the impression that he had a car. Nope, he biked! In a denim coat! I felt pretty terrible, and gave him a hefty tip. My –1 star is because our sandwich orders were incorrect. It worked out though — they gave my boyfriend extra peppers(he doesn’t like peppers) so I took them! Thanks for caring about your customers! You won’t even believe how much I appreciate it.

This is a friendly neighborhood location in Chicago with lots of room to eat. I work in the Lincoln Park area and am always searching for places to eat on lunch break. Came across this sandwich shop by accident one day and decided to stop in to eat. Ordered the TKY Chicken with potato soup. Not bad because the whole deal cost under 8 bucks. The food was great but the best part is the seating area. Unlike so many other sub places in Chicago, there’s actually pretty large tables with a great view for people watching. I plan on returning!

This place reminds me of Quizno’s and… I really don’t like Quizno’s. This is only my second time having Potbelly ever, so I don’t really know what to say. The first time I ate Potbelly’s, all I remember was that I was very underwhelmed, but that was at a different location. I decided to stop by this place before work since it was on the way and it was just alright. I got the pizza sandwich because I was craving pizza. Once again, I’m at a loss for words. I don’t really get why people really like this place, but I mean. it’s your standard«fast food» sandwich place. I think it’s better than Quizno’s, but I still prefer Subway over Potbelly’s. I’m interesting in going back and trying their soups and shakes though.

This place is a well oiled machine. The staff works very efficiently. I came in here yesterday after attending the pride parade and was expecting to wait forever in line to order my sandwich given the amount of people attending. I was in and out within a few minutes because these people know how to hustle. I normally order the wreck but decided to try something different and went with the mediterranean. Delicious! I’m ordering it again in the future. Also maybe this is a recent change because I don’t know what some of you are talking about in regards to the fountain drinks. I definitely saw them available. Great Job Potbelly!

I was always wondering why many of my friends frequented this sandwich place. It is absolutely delicious. It definitely beats a Subway sandwich any day. It is also quite affordable. I ordered a A WRECK® which consists of salami, angus roast beef, turkey, ham and swiss cheese. I loved the fact that they toasted it without having me asking and it had a great combination of toppings. I ordered the BIGS which is apparently 30% more than their regular sandwiches. I actually ended up only finishing half the sandwich because I wanted to save it for later on in the evening. When I return back to Chicago, I will definitely have to stop by Potbelly because it was just that good.

This is a step up in flavor and style from subway(my hubby’s go to sub shop). I went with a skinny turkey and Swiss. Skinnies contain less bun because they perform a bun-extomy to extract the calories and put less meat and cheese on for about $ 4 a wich. I had them throw on some of their amazing hot peppers. I think it does wonders for flavor without having to add flavor sauces like mayo. The hubby went with a big chicken, big buns and more meat and cheese(than their originals) for about $ 6. The price difference was only a couple bucks but the size difference seemed more than that. My little sub was actually just right… as I now start to sound like Little Red Ridding Hood… ah, scratch that I’m sounding like Goldilocks(thanks Patt C. I’ll be brushing up on my fairytail one of these days). Not too big and not too small, not too cold and not too hot, not to spicy and not too bland… but just right. Let me with room to contemplate dessert.

Ahh, what the heck? Since I am disclosing secrets about my Chicago food predilections, here’s another: I used to hate Potbelly. It’s true! Well, maybe ‘hate’ is too strong a word but I was thoroughly unimpressed. I didn’t get it. The sandwiches were short and skinny, the varieties were uninspired and I really couldn’t make anything my way. The taste was… alright, but it didn’t make up for the other ‘mehs.’ I kept my traitorous opinions to myself and simply skipped out on eating lunch there(because there was no way one of those emaciated sandwiches would work for dinner). And then came the BIGS and everything changed. I was doing my usual, wandering the streets looking lost and hungry, scaring all those who gazed at my under-fed state when I knew I could barely muster any more steps without nourishment. My thoughts: «Hmm, on this block of Diversey is… nothing. I’m gonna die! Wait. What’s this? Ugh. A Potbelly. Well, it’ll tide me over until I can eat an entire pizza or something.» I scampered in to the sandwich shop and looked up and saw… BIGS. 30% more food. A real, live sandwich! Oh, joy! It’s amazing the power of 30%. It transforms a gangly Blake Lively into a voluptuous(and sex-ay) Christina Hendricks. 30% makes ALL the difference. What did I get? I got a BIGS Tuna Salad on wheat toasted with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. And, one of those big-ass chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Jealous? I knew you would be. I would have gotten a shake or a delicious, iridescent soda, but I had a cold beer waiting for me at home and nothing goes better with a BIG, expertly-made sandwich with the most perfect ingredients evAr!!!1!!1111! than a cold beer. I have since been back many times. I have put my spin on the pizza sandwich. I have made the grilled chicken and cheddar my own. After I was done crafting my version of the chicken salad sandwich, it was like the sandwich maker was seeing it for the first time. I am a believer, Chicago. But, to be fair(to me), it was Potbelly’s fault. This is Chicago. Pizzas weigh 15 lbs. Hot dogs are 1.5 feet long and packed with toppings. Babies nurse on Big Gulps out of the womb. People eat big portions here and store up winter fat. You should have been serving BIGS from the beginning. Apology accepted.
