Service is good 90% of the time, and sandwiches are delicious, but looking around today j was kind of grossed out. I think the front of the house could use a deep cleaning. Shelves, floors, pop fridge(the grossness of this fridge has influenced my decision to not grab the macaroni salad before), walls… all could use a really deep cleaning.

This is when I switch to being completely against $ 15/hr. minimum wage. Since when did having just lettuce and pickle on my sandwich(boring, but easy right?) really mean lettuce, tomato, peppers, and mayo? I told the kid 3 times and he still screwed it plus it was not even that busy!

Turkey sandwich is delicious. Peppers will get your attention, so proceed with caution.

Look. This is a sandwich place. The sandwich’s aren’t amazing. They’re okay. Combine that with some of the longest wait times in the world, and you’ve got ‘meh’ experience. No joke. I was the only person in line and I just spent 10 minutes waiting for a sandwich that’s half the size of my forearm. If you’ve got some time to kill? Go for it. But if you’re looking for a quality sandwich with a quick wait time, Subway, Jimmy Johns, and Jason’s Deli are all in the area.

I love Potbelly, I always have and always will. My favorite sandwich/lunch place. The employees at this location however, are the most efficient I have ever witnessed, and yet always cheerful and professional. Props, guys!

I was kind of pumped by the name and thought it was going to be a pork BBQ. We don’t have these where I live… That being said it was kind of a glorified subway/Panera/Quiznos … The sandwich wasn’t terrible but it was not what I expected at all. The name is ver deceiving though the milk shake was very good. The service was fine, however I am not one for franchise food.

I am a frequent customer at Potbelly and love the food. However, this location in downtown Chicago’s theater district is the worst run Potbelly I have ever been to… and I have given it a few chances. They are very slow, they have three people the wrong sandwiches this last time, when I finally got my sandwich there were 7 backed up coming out of the warmer, I ordered a Shaw at the beginning and when I got down to the end 10 minutes later they never even started it, and the tables, as always, were filthy! Do not go to this location. There are so many better options in this area.

I love these Sammie’s! My favorite is the roast beef Sammie with an Oreo shake. I think their hot pepper mix makes it one of the best around. If you want a little kick get the pepper mix on your sammie! I used to live in Chicago and I’m so glad it’s a huge chain in the Midwest so I can find one easily whenever I’m back for a visit. This location is probably the least friendly one I have ever been too though. But since the location is prime it doesn’t seem to matter if the employees are nice.

Normally, I love Potbelly’s. But this place is the worst. Long lines all the time for no reason(the workers tend to be slow and distracted, rather than actually swamped), the managers are unprofessional, and the dining area is always a little cluttered. I promised myself I wouldn’t come here again after one of the workers hit on me WHILE I WASEATING on break from work. But, one night I just needed to get some chili. I came around 10 minutes before close(which is, admittedly, a jerk thing to do but I had no choice.) Anyway, the manager stood in front of the counter and watched everyone eat, making them so uncomfortable they’d leave. Never have I seen such bad customer service at a Potbelly’s. Avoiding in the future.

Love potbelly but this is BYFARTHEWORST location I’ve ever been at. Honestly I will never go here again the mac salad coleslaw and potato salad were molding and we waited in line for 20 minutes! So much for their 8 minute promise. I’m very displeased by this location and service. Shame on you Potbelly. Close this location or up the staff!

I don’t know if it’s the time of evening, but it’s 7 o’clock on a beautiful Wednesday and I am so happy to have made a stop at this lovely shop. Great selections both the food and beverages, I took a wreck home and I’m calling it a day. Thank you to the amazing staff for their suggestions, smiles, and swift service. This desert flower will most definitely make a comeback.

We went for lunch today it was tasty and well organized. The bread was fresh and my husband really enjoyed his smoothie.

Loved this place for the interiors, food was really good too. I have had the«A Wreck» sandwich, very tasty and well«packed» with lots of things. A bit pricey(but it’s in the heart of the city so prices are a bit higher), it was a good stop for a quick bite!

Obviously I must have had a bad first experience with Potbelly’s. This location was incredibly chaotic and unorganized. I do not mind the chaos as much(Chicago is s huge city), but what bothers me is when there is no worker in the lines making sure things are going smoothly for their customers. There were no clear lines; I got skipped in line at least twice. The ordering process was a mess because it seemed as if new employees were training and were still learning how to take, prepare, and complete orders. In my experience in retail, we never put trainees on the floors or registers during peak hours because that almost doubles the wait time. Customer service is pretty much non existent at this location. I ordered the Mediterranean sandwich. The chicken was dry, the hummus was okay, the bread was hard as a rock and dry. And overpriced for the quality of what I forced myself to eat. This is the first time in Chicago I have genuinely felt let down in the food department. I certainly won’t be dying to return.

We need these in California. Quiznos and Subway aren’t up to par with Potbelly’s. I’d say that Potbelly’s is at the same level as Capriatti’s in NV for quality of sandwiches. This branch is just a few blocks from Millenium Park, so a good place to pick up a take out lunch to eat in the park!

When I worked in Evanston several years ago, there was a Potbelly right across the street from my building, and I went there a lot. Now that I am downtown, I believe there are 3 stores in the area, and this location is nearest to my office. We ordered delivery for a staff lunch today, so I can’t speak to the customer service, so this review is strictly about the food. They have a variety of sandwiches and some salads. I got a tuna sandwich with soup, and a cookie for dessert. The tuna was fresh and very tasty with my choice of toppings. The bread was a french roll that I liked better than some other sandwich places. They have several soup options and chili daily, and today I had their brocolli cheddar. It was thick and hearty. Others in my office had the loaded potato soup, which I’ve had before as well, and that is quite popular among my colleagues. I heard the chicken noodle was good, too. Their cookies are baked daily in their store. I saved mine, but I’ve had them before and they are delicious! For this experience, everyone seemed pleased with their meal and mine was perfect for what I had.

It was quite hot when I came in for a late afternoon snack today. I wonder if it was because of the open air in the food preparation area plus the heat from the 2 grills plus the heater. I like how it’s conveniently located right off the red line Lake station. The restroom was pretty busy as I had to wait for the key outside of the restroom. If the men and women restroom is only 1 locked room anyway, what difference does it make for the two restrooms to be separated into men and women? I could have gone into the vacant men’s restroom when the women’s restroom was occupied. Hmph. The food is good and the shakes are nicely done(drinkable consistency, not too thick or too runny). The shortbread cookies were not on the straw of my vanilla shake tonight, though. I wonder if they ran out, and if they did, how come they weren’t made in preparation for the next set of customers? Maybe they were super busy for the shoppers on State St. It’s okay. The shakes were still yummy. Yee. The staff is friendly and communicate well for the most part. The cashier had to ask me 3 times what kind of shakes I had(vanilla and oreo). She must have been multi-tasking really hard at the moment. There was a sticky liquid underneath a table by the wall and the tables were dirty. want management to assist staff in improving how often the tables are cleaned so patrons don’t have to sit at dirty tables or clean the tables by themselves. Thanks for the yummy sandwiches and shakes tonight!

So the office ordered from here today for lunch. I ordered the uptown salad with chicken. It consisted of spring greens, diced chicken, grapes, apples, cranberries and walnuts. All the ingredients paired well with one another and the buttermilk ranch dressing also went well. I am generally partial to salads that contain walnuts and cranberries although not every place always has them. Potbellys consistently produces top notch salads and subs and milk shakes too. I rate it and specialty at the top for chain lunch deli locales. The place is reliably delicious and on time. What more could one want!?!

Open pretty late, not crowded if you want to avoid the restaurant crowds on a Friday night. The employees are very friendly and helpful. A homeless person or two seemed to be hanging out to use the restroom. The sandwiches: the one I had was delicious. I ordered a turkey with swiss on flatbread and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. I left full and happy! I am definitely going to come back here again when I need to eat quick and don’t want a crowd.

Awesome find! I already had lunch so for second lunch I had a light cup of chili and a cookie. The chili was excellent and the portion was perfect. The brownie cookie was also good. I liked the large roomy atmosphere, and there was even room for a band to play up on a little balcony. I was freezing outside so I just felt the warm air and food here was even better than it actually might be. Either way, think it’s worth a try!
