Pump It Up

Went there today with the kiddo for open play, and he had a blast. The room with the inflatables seemed pretty clean and there were attendants all around to make sure things ran smoothly.
They let the open play group into the room a few minutes earlier than scheduled, which was cool. My son loved the inflatable slides and the bouncy house with the baskets and balls inside.
Definitely will bring him back here I. The future.

I called to reserve a spot for my 2.5 yr olds birthday party. They sent me an email confirmation with an attachment of all the info including another follow-​up email right after showing I was confirmed. I had to cancel the party 2 months later which was actually a month and a half notice. They in turn did not offer me a 50% refundable amount, which is what is stated in their cancellation policy but they offered me a 100% credit to use for their location. So even though I never clicked on the confirmation of policy which binds you to the non-​refundable policy they also went against their own policy by not refunding me 50% of my deposit which is stated in their cancellation policy. How do you not refund a party deposit when you give a month and a half notice and instead you give a 100% credit to use at your location. This place is a SCAM and will take your money away from you regardless of the amount of time given for cancellation, or the reason. This is supposed to be a child-​friendly institution instead it’s a money driven pit. I would never book my party here.

I have a kid. But the thought of a roomful of screaming and crying and whining kids almost makes me want to bring a flask of the good stuff in my purse. I kid, I kid… about the flask, not about my dislike for kids parties.
That being said though, Pump it Up really knows how to show kids a good time. And seeing my son and his friends have a blast really does make me happy. So the only whining I heard was from kids not wanting to go home! We had been to the location in Elmhurst during drop-​in hours but this was the first time we came to this location and the first for a party.
There are two rooms of big inflatable bouncy houses. HUGE inflatables. Slides, obstacle courses and bouncing house. There is also a climbing wall for kids to channel their inner spider man. These inflatables are big enough for adults to join in the fun too. But if you’re not into that and just want to catch up on the school news with other moms, they had a lot of seating off to the side for us to sit back and chat. The rooms were supervised by staff the whole time and they did a great job ushering everyone to each room and then to the party room later on. They also led a few fun games for the kids.
The inflatable room was all black-​light and staff provided glow necklaces and other props to make the guests glow. Pop music pumps in overhead and with all the action going on, it was basically like a Rave for kids. During the party staff also took pictures of the birthday boy and other guests. They also took a lot of great group shots. And then during the refreshment time, all the pictures were shown slide-​show style on the flat screen in the room so all the guests could enjoy them. Such an awesome feature!
They have different party packages and the pizza, salad and cake offered to the guests were was pretty good. There is a huge parking garage across the street but we was able to snag free parking on a side street.

We had our 10 year daughter’s birthday party here. The kids ranged from 2 – 14, including our 13 whom has special needs and everyone had a blast!!! I love that every single child was laughing and having fun. Even the adults were bouncing around. The staff was fabulous and friendly.
My daughter and her guests loved that we had the playrooms to ourselves!!! We didn’t have to worry about any unruly kids being mean to our party group our it being over crowded.
Oh, and the food was quite good!

I had my son’s 2^nd birthday party there in February. He was a little timid but the rest of the kids loved it. I’d say the parents had just as much fun as the kids!

So much fun. They have great equipment and great staff. The one downside… This is not so much a birthday party place as a birthday party factory. You are shuffled from one station to the next to make room for the next party.

I just had my first experience here:
Kids had a great time, moving from one space to the next, rooms appeared clean and overall well organized BUT…
PSY’s «Gangnam Style» with the lyrics «…hey sexy lady…» Don’t need to be heard by 3 and 4 year olds. Take it off the playlist. …after speaking with the business and the Unilocal original review we experienced an appropriate environment al the way around!

Great fun place just for kids ! They let al that extra energy they have. It’s not overly crowded and have very friendly staff! They have plenty of seating for adults to watch their kids from, and a massage chair. They have a climbing wall for the adventurous kids. It rained today so this was the perfect place in the city on spring break ! Parking was easy on the street about 7 bucks or across the street there’s a garage for 6

The facilities are fine and kids enjoy jumping and climbing, but the staff are bored and inconsiderate. They seem like they do NOT like kids, so I think they have the wrong job. One child was struggling on the climbing wall and getting frustrated. so instead of actually helping him or suggesting another activity, she said «come ON, that’s the easiest one!» yea, maybe it’s easy for an adult! But this was a 6-​year old! wow. The guys working at the front desk were equally bored and un-​enthusiastic. I have been there other times and the staff were adequate, but my most recent visit was not impressive.

Let’s talk about the important stuff first! Parking… yes, you can park at the Parking garage across the street and get your ticket validated. So you end up paying 5 $ for 2.5 hours instead of 15 $. Good deal considering there is no street parking available.
Super fun venue for a Birthday party! When you check in you have to sign an electronic waiver for each child you bring in and the waiver is good for a year. They let you into a fun room full of slides and a giant bouncy house. Kids love it. I’m talking about kids 6 and under. You have to take off your shoes, no shoes allowed, only socks.
After you have been in the first room for about 45 minutes they lead you into a second fun room! There’s a rock climbing wall for bigger kids, another gigantic bouncy house and a run up and post your flag bouncy slide.
When this is about to get old they lead you to a small dining room for pizza, salad and cake. My 3 year old and 19 month old had a blast here and so did we. My husband and I agreed this was the best birthday party we have been to by far. It kept the kids really busy and we got a great workout bouncing around and chasing them.
We will definitely be back!

On a cold weekend, we needed some place for our 2 year old to burn energy. He’s full of energy these days. We did some Unilocal searching and remembered this place. Yes, it’s generally a birthday party place, so I knew that going in. However, they offer open jump time for 2 and up crowd. With a quick online booking, we secured a spot for our little one. For open jumps, you pay for your kid while parents and chaperones are free.
For our first experience, we enjoyed it. The staff ushered us in the first room. I couldn’t do the physical stuff to help our little guy on equipment with being pregnant, so my husband did that. Both of them jumped in the bouncy castles and slides. Around the room, there are couches and water fountains for comfort. After a certain time, we switched rooms where the bouncy castles were a little different. Once we reached our time being up, they ushered us into a hall to collect our jackets, etc. Both my husband and I were impressed with how it’s a well run machine. Our little guy had fun and was tired from his play time there. We may get a pass for future visits which drop the price by a couple of dollars for the cold winter energy burn needs.

I recently co-​planned and attended my Five-​year-​old Goddaughter’s birthday celebration. Pump it Up was fantastic from the word «Go!» From the first phone call to the party’s end, staff and accommodations were first-​rate, including for the additional guests that came. Staff did not miss a beat! Proof was in the dozens of smiles on the faces of guests.
Thank you Pump it Up for your role in providing us such a special celebration!

This place is a lot of fun! If you have a kid between the ages of 3 and grown up it is guaranteed a good time! I’ve had 3 birthday parties here for my kids and we have gone to several Birthday parties of friends who decided to throw their kids’ party at Pump It Up after I’ve referred them. Birthday party packages include access to 3 different rooms in Pump it up, 2 playrooms and one party room. Everyone’s favorite room is the second one with the rock climbing and the Velcro flag wall. The Velcro flag wall is always taken over by the adult men though lol. The only thing I would recommend is that if you are having a party order additional pizzas than what is included in your party package, trust me or you will be hungry. Also, re confirm everything with Pump it Up at least 3 times the week prior to your party or risk nothing being ready. One year I didn’t confirm the day before the party and Pump it UP did not make the gift bags for the kids or put balloons in the party room, even though my party had been completely paid in advance. Other than that it is a really awesome place for kids and adults and I would definitely have my boys’ Birthday parties here again.

They did a great job with my nephew’s bday party and kept things rolling and smooth from beginning to end. These guys really know what they’re doing. The place is pretty fun and the slides are no joke. It was fun watching all the grown ups/​parents get involved and have a good time too.
Tip: Wear Socks, and Long Sleeves. Sometimes you get burned sliding down the big slides.

My four year old son came down with the stomach flu, and I needed to reschedule his Pump It Up party. When I called to see if I could reschedule, the manager on duty was unwilling to work with us to figure out a solution that would work. When I asked to speak to the GM, she was also unwilling to get me in touch. She never even said «I’m sorry about your son» or anything to show any degree of empathy for the situation. She simply read the policy from her script. I indicated I had a doctor’s note from his appointment, and she said «we had a family that cancelled because of a funeral and we were unwilling to bend our rescheduling policies». Keep in mind this was the fifth party we’ve booked here in the last four years.
No parent wants to cancel their child’s birthday party. It’s an awful feeling knowing your child is going to be disappointed they are missing their party because they are home sick. To be treated with the old «lose $ 400 or comply with our rescheduling policy that doesn’t accommodate working parents» without any willingness to try to find a solution that might work on both ends is simply unacceptable. I would have expected better from Pump It Up.

Love it in the Winter!

I was contacted by an associate from Pump it Up who took the time to read my review.
1. She not only took the time to call and apologize on their behalf but she also asked me to explain what happened that night. Never interrupted me nor became defensive or argumentative.
2. She took the time to review the pictures and agreed that they didn’t meet standards.
3. Offered me a small credit for food, a refund on the pictures plus 2 passes to their venue for play.
4. Assured that they would re-​train their staff for quality purposes.
I honestly expected nothing out of my review but to inform others of my experience. It’s good to know that they read all feedback, good or bad and act upon it. It shows that they indeed care about their reputation as a business, which is key to success.
For this, I added a 4^th star.

This place is fine for birthday parties (have been to two of them here) but was not as good today for their Easter event. It was very, very crowded and not adequately staffed. I was really disappointed by the lack of staff, frankly. I felt like the bigger kids were not being adequately supervised, so it was dangerous for the little ones. It is cleaner than other similar options, but I will not go to an event like this one again.

I have avoided «Pump It Up» for years but a few weeks ago I could not avoid it… we got invited to a Birthday Party! On a side note: «Pump It Up» is not a German Gym run by Hans and Franz from Saturday Night Live Fame… I was really let down!
This place is very big and runs like a finely oiled machine. Everyone starts in the first room. There are two slides, a obstacle course and jumpy house. You stay here for about 40 minutes and then you get moved on to the next room. I thought that this room would be better but it seems like it was just another room. Here was one slide, a kind of a jumpy room, a rock wall and a wall you needed to stick Velcro to! The reason we moved into the next room because there was another party behind us… yes we were now cattle.
Minutes before we were herded into our last and final room… the birthday girl landed on my little ones head. And there was some major crying going on. I could not see anything wrong with her ear. A staff member grabbed me an ice pack after I asked. Most of the staff avoided me now because I had a child that possibly got injured. In fact, I think that they did not even want to acknowledge something had happened on there watch… trust me I so got the vibe. We ended up taking her to get checked out and somehow the falling child caused some water build up in her ear drum… doctor said Children’s Claritin would clear it up and it did.
The best part was our last room… here is where the cake and food was… the parents had ordered Tomato Head pizza which is located next door. That pizza is the best. I wonder if they get a lot of pizza orders because of «Pump It Up»
I hope I never have to come back here again but I know it will become like a second home with all of these kids birthday parties I will be roped into.
