Not sure why they say this is an Italian restaurant, it’s a mix of things. The food is okay and the service is friendly. My favorite is the chicken wings.

I loved the food at the OLD Razon, but the service was pretty bad. Despite the service issue, though, I ate there several times and recommended it to my neighbors because the food was so good. Fast forward to the NEW Razon. I’ve eaten there twice since their change in management and, presumably, chef and it’s just ok. The service is much better, though! I live close by and really want Razon to make it, so I’ll continue to sample the menu and, hopefully, find something that is as good as the duck breast with mushrooms was on their old menu.

I moved into the building a few months ago and was excited to try Razon so my boyfriend and I went to brunch there one weekend. There were only two other tables occupied but our service was terrible. We could never find our waitress despite the restaurant being almost empty. It took 40 minutes for our food to come out and when it did, it was cold. My meal was missing the toast and fruit that it came with and it took ten minutes to find our waitress to tell her and another ten minutes for my complete meal to be brought out. When we received the check, we were overcharged by $ 1 for each item, which I confirmed by comparing the check to the prices listed on the menus. Of course, we could not find our waitress to let her know. I thought this was ridiculous and unprofessional and so we did not give them any more of our business. Lately, we had seen their sign and marketing papers advertising that from 5pm to 7pm on weekdays, various items including pizzas were $ 5. Last Wednesday around 6pm, we decided to give them another chance and while the sign was propped outside the door advertising $ 5 pizzas, we went in to order a pizza. The woman told us that the $ 5 for food items offer was no longer valid. My boyfriend pointed to the sign sitting right outside the door listing the special and the woman responded by saying that the sign was too hard to change so she kept putting it out even though the specials listed on it were not really being offered. What a joke. I’m not surprised that this restaurant is always empty when I walk by. It seems that the management is lazy and does not know how to run a proper restaurant. It is located on a street with basically no competition and in a building filled with people who need to eat but if they do not make necessary changes, I won’t be surprised to see them out of business.

When I first moved into this building I thought Razon was awesome. Maybe a little pricey but the food was great and the service excellent. I felt comfortable enough going to the bar by myself, having a drink and chatting it up with one of the bartenders who could mix up anything your heart desired. The ambiance was great. Now, it’s like no one really cares. Sometimes they are open and sometimes not. Sometimes they have a bartender and sometimes not. The last time I stopped in for a martini, the poor guy behind the counter said he didn’t know how to make it so I left. The café is supposed to open at 7 in the mornings, but not lately, so if you are running late and need a coffee you might as well walk a little further over to Dollop. I thought I would at least try dinner one night and that is the only reason I’m giving this place two stars instead of one. The food was pretty good. It certainly isn’t enough for me to go back which is unfortunate because I live in the building. Can we bring Nash back please?

I’d really like this restaurant to make it but I’m not sure the people who run it care if they do or not. Several of us went there last night and the food was mediocre at best. The service was awful. We had to go get the server at least four times because she was too busy talking to friends at the bar. The restaurant wasn’t busy so there was no reason for not taking care of he customers they had. I’m not very hopeful about Razon’s long term prospects unless they pay more attention to the food and their customers.

This is a review of the NEW Razon which opened under new management around June 2013. While the restaurant is still finding its way, I recommend it for a couple reasons. The menu is accessible and pretty tasty. I love the Penne Pasta with chicken, mushrooms and alfredo sauce. The chicken sandwich is terrific. It has a yummy curry mayo which is refreshing, along with lettuce & cucumbers. The chicken noodle soup is surprisingly hearty and delicious! They have a good array of colorful cookies and fresh cupcakes and cake slices. Their cheeseburger is just right. Looking forward to trying the salmon sandwich and the Sunday brunch menu. The baked goods greet you as you enter the café portion. They serve a range of coffee drinkables. I really hope this place succeeds. It’s got the right, elements and the staff are friendly. The new menu is different from the old one and the prices are affordable. I wish they’d print up tons of the new menus since they always seem to be out of them when customers come by. But the new Razon has potential! Along with Reservoir, these two restaurants are much appreciated and needed in the Buena Park area. Their correct phone number is: 773−880−9115 and I’m sure they’d be happy to serve you!
