History
Established in 2007.
Joe Reynolds launched GreatUrbanRace.com, a basic website for a city-wide Chicago scavenger hunt on September 15th. Registrations went surprisingly well, so Joe launched seven more events in the fall of 2007. Each race steadily grew that fall from 156 racers in Chicago to 26 racers in San Diego. In 2007 Great Urban Race attracted 1,200 participants.
Red Frog experienced explosive growth in early 2010 as the launch of 10 Warrior Dashes went viral. Red Frog’s bold early prediction of 60,000 racers nationwide was surpassed in February and the phenomenon that is Warrior Dash was born. Meanwhile, Great Urban Race had 17,000 participants. Beach Dash was also officially launched in 2010.
Although it is only our fifth year in this business, our participant numbers are growing at a rapid rate and there are many exciting developments planned for 2012. With over 500,000 participants in 2011 we are expecting to attract over 1 million this year!
