Rogers Park Social

Great local hangout! They have a very good beer selection, it’s not extensive but well thought out. Lots of signature cocktails, I recommend the Mezcal Mule, its sweet and savory. Cool atmosphere with couches for lounging and board games for entertainment. They also have live music fairly regularly and they’re dog friendly. RP Social is a must if you find yourself on Morse or at Loyola.

At the Morse stop? This place is off the cobblestone alley along the tracks covered with Rogers Park murals and it’s is your best choice for a chill conversation with a friend over a drink. Low slung-​ceiling with a light retro-​furniture vibe, this place isn’t trying too hard (thank god). There’s a TV, but it ain’t a sports bar. They have live music some nights but it’s not trying to be a concert venue. It’s just a genuine neighbor-​friendly pub-​ish kinda place.
No food here, but there’s some nifty cocktails, and beer lovers (e.g. me) won’t think their list is huge but it always has a enough perfect craft options on tap that I’ve gotta think through my choice. Plus the bartenders know what they’re serving and are happy to help. Friendly staff, great vibe – this is five stars all the way.

Wow! I love this place! It makes me want to move here permanently so it can be my local watering hole.
When searching Unilocal along the red line to find a bar to gather some graduate school friends, I found RPS. The reviews sounded great, so I messaged them to see if it would be a good place for my group. Erik, one of the owners, was a treat to work with! He made it so easy, so inviting and so fun. They put up a sign reserving a small section of the couch seating area for us.
We ended up having nearly 25 people from our group come through the bar that night. The bartenders were so hospitable, friendly and helpful. The drinks were delicious! We even ordered in some food, which worked out really well.
I did a lot of tasting of the menu that night and my favorite is the Alchemist (note that my current default drink is an old fashioned these days). After the group departed, there were 4 of us, and we each had a final alchemist and played a game.
I would highly recommend Rogers Park Social whether you want a solo drink on your way out or on your way home for work, whether you are meeting a friend or two, or if you are looking to plan an inviting and fun small social gathering.
I have a few more weeks in Chicago and I plan to be back at least once a week until I go home.

Friendly staff and the pimm sours were to die for. Definitely will visit again next time I am in town.

This was an amazing find in my neighborhood! I heard of it a while back and was impressed by the raving reviews.
The ambiance is amazing, the decorations had me staring because there’s a ton of little details i didn’t want to miss.
They have a great toffee beer I highly recommend as well as the golden gurl. And I’m always happy to see not your fathers root beer beer on tap at a bar-it’s one of my favorites.
The service was great as well! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!

I would say that RP social is hit or miss in terms of cocktails, with probably more misses than hits. I’ve tried several cocktails and there were only a few that were really solid and it is heavily dependent on the bartender making the cocktail. The negroni and the blueberry pisco sour were very strong drinks — balanced, sweet but strong. But most of the other cocktails in the menu were not as balanced. Some ingredient — the sourness or bitterness usually — were always overpowering the drink. I would recommend Ward Eight as an alternative to RP Social. It is near enough and I’ve never had a bad experience there.
I do like that RP social allows you to bring your own food though. It’s great to have your choice of good to complement the cocktails here.

Awesome and unique place. This is a good spot for dates or just hanging out. The drinks were creative and priced fairly. The atmosphere is really chill and comfortable — you can actually speak with someone without needing to shout (crazy concept for a bar, huh?). The bartender was attentive and friendly. I’ll be going back when I’m in that area again.

Really fun place and really good drinks. The bartenders are nice and it’s a cool place to hang out at with friends. It can get crowded on weekends but the service is generally efficient

As a Peruvian, I’m happy to say this place offers pisco sours!!! They’re delicious. Good environment and a very friendly staff makes for an amazing hangout spot.

Strong, reasonably priced drinks that all have their own personality. I started off with a Rum Punch, which was refreshing and not too fruity. I also tried the falling star– a crafty little concoction. Loved the whole cozy atmosphere, the friendliness, the bartenders– the whole evening was wonderful. New favorite!

Great local spot. The bartenders were very friendly, the drinks were delicious and they are dog friendly. Can’t wait to come back on a date with my 4lb Yorkie. They also had live music the night I was there. Very cozy spot. Glad i found it before winter hit.

Had a great time at RP Social. This place embodies all of the diversity and personality of Rogers Park. Manager/​barkeep was knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and is a badass.

Okay, okay, okay! Last night I met an old coworker for cocktails at RPS. She drove in from Villa Park just to relive her last experience here. I was so happy she tried the new «Summer Cocktail Menu».
Matt our bartender served up a bit of magic. In her first summer cocktail offering it was in a cool coconut glass, then he mixed a colorful gin cocktail from their new summer menu in a martini glass…
Pride does not even describe how pleased I was Doville had such a phenomenal experience, «AGAIN». Thank you Rogers Park Social and thank you Will & Erik for bringing this to Rogers Park (60 626). What a little gem.
In the words of my friend Doville «I wish Villa Park had something like this». I just smiled, a REALLY big smile!!!

The entire staff was welcoming! The margarita was the best I’ve EVER had! I came on a weekday after work and there wasn’t a crowd. I’m already anticipating my next visit to Rogers Park Social!

All I can say is I am glad I ran through the downpouring rain from Edgewater to Rogers Park for this place. I was meeting a friend for a «mom’s night out» and thought it would be cool to venture out to the RP. I did my search on Unilocal and discovered this place that had good reviews so I thought let’s check it out! I was very impressed, It had this cool house party vibe to it and I went on a Sunday so it wasn’t that packed-​perfect! This was sorely needed in Rogers Park. The drinks are great, a little on the pricey side for this part of town but worth it, because they are really unique and well crafted. I can’t believe this place is so close to me. I considered meeting my usual haunts in Edgewater but I really wanted to just try something new for once and I am so glad we did.
And the music was not bad at all-​I expected this divey bar type music that usually is not that great and mainstream, but they played pretty cool music including some indie international stuff which was from my part of the world (read:eastern european). So I give them an extra star for that.
I saw they do live shows here too so I will be sure to check it out here again, maybe bring the boys this time.

Showed up on a Saturday afternoon, myself and my significant other were the only two patrons. Bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were phenomenal (mine had pop rocks on the rim). I don’t like grapefruit, and I ended up with some kind of grapefruit vodka concoction. It was delicious. Like many other reviewers have stated, the drinks did take longer than I’m used to for preparation, but I also chalk that up to watching him use FRESH (like he sat their and squeezed the fruit) ingredients. I’ll take quality over expediency any day.
The space is mid-​century/​modern chic. The location is great! I walk by this place on a daily basis, I might have to stop in more often. It often looks pretty busy though, and I can see it getting crowded quickly.
Is this my new go-​to?

What a wonderful place to ring in my 21^st. This bar is a hidden gem. Intimate enough without feeling claustrophobic. We loved the bartender, Leo, and I was so pleased with both drinks and with the free tequila shot he gave me definitely will be returning with parents or friends. Only complaint is they should get some food, but the bar snacks were yummy.

OMG! There is a swanky cocktail bar in Rogers Park. Outfitted to suit the trendy youngsters of this city.
Shocked & impressed. My bartender was the best! $ 16 for two drinks is not my norm. But it was totally worth it for my intoxication level by the time I walked out. :)

The walls, carpeted slickly with shredded magazines, carefully woven into a super rad wallpaper; the drinks, eclectically and stiffly mixed; the environment, half hipster, half Mad Men living room, have all created the perfect place to sip on good beer and cocktails, surrounding oneself by pretentiously unpretentious people, to the low-​key and community-​esq vibe that is – Rogers Park.
Come socialize at the Social. Five stars.
