Everything from start to finish was wonderful. Not at all what you expect when dealing with car repairs. The website is so quick and easy to use. I loved that you immediately get a quote that is fair and accurate. Plus the advice videos were well done with good info in a quick, easy format. The in store experience was just as great. Quick, easy, great work, and nice people. I didn’t use it since I live so close to a location but I also was very impressed with the option to have them come to you for only $ 25. The mobile service seemed like a fantastic solution to me being a mother of a newborn and still healing. Tech guy came out to my house and started to fix my smaller than a dime sized crack in the front windshield. First of all, he was on his phone while the machine was on my windshield. Second, he wrote that my car had dents and scratches all over the body in his vehicle pre-​inspection report… which is completely false! I wash my car and know every inch of it and I am totally anal when it comes to my car. THIRD, the tech said when he was pulling the machine off of my front windshield, it cracked the window! So now I have a foot and a half size crack acrossed my whole window and I have to pay my $ 500 deductible to replace his mess up. Not happy at all… gunna shop around for better techs and prices.

My insurance company referred me to Safelite. I had an appointment for a Saturday morning between 8 and 12. I received a call around 9 telling me they would be at my place around 11. When they arrived the technician noted that my car model had 4 different windshields and that he had brought the wrong one. He was polite about it, but it was a major waste of my time and his that could have been avoided by a phone call to confirm the proper windshield prior to the visit. In any case, the technician assured me that the correct windshield would be noted in my file and the appointment was rescheduled for the following Tuesday. Once again, the wrong windshield was brought. This time I was told by the technician that there were 18 different windshields for the make and model of my car. Once again, this could have been avoided with a simple telephone call by Safelite or the appropriate communication from the first technician. I will say that the technicians and the supervisor were very nice about all this, but it doesn’t excuse the incompetence. Perhaps they need to reexamine their processes to prevent this from happening again to other customers. I never did have Safelite install the windshield. After the above experience, I decided to go with another company.

Nice service reps, quick chip repair, comfortable waiting room, and free via insurance. Perfect! Their time windows for coming to me didn’t work well so I went to the location but was pleased.

They gave us the best quote to replace our windshield but the customer service representatives was really what got me. They were very friendly and responsive so I felt that they would take the same type of service level with getting the job done. I brought the car in at 8am, and it was ready by 10:30am. We had issues with streaking in which they fixed and even provided us with new wipers. We would certainly recommend and go back to them again if needed.

Went in a Thursday to find out my windshield crack was too large to be sealed, back on Friday morning at 8am and my vehicle was done with a new windshield for pickup by 10am. $ 230 and quick, quality service. Satisfied and will recommend to friends/​family.

Great service! Made an appointment to have a small crack in the windshield repaired. Safelight gave me a time frame of 12 – 4 for when the service guy would come. At about 11:00 service guy Chris called my phone and said he would be there at approx 1:00. Love that they kept you informed so that you’re not waiting and wondering. He arrived right on time and it only took about 20 mins for the repair! Throughout the repair he explained everything– he didn’t have to do that but we were just curious how it’s done. Thanks Chris for the fast and quality service!

When your car gets broken into, you feel upset and flustered. My friend and my insurance company both recommended Safelite for auto glass repair in Chicago.
On the phone, it takes less than 15 seconds to speak to an actual human being, and even though I called three times while shopping quotes, my information was saved and readily available so I didn’t have to go through the same questions over and over. Everyone I spoke with was very up front about costs and timeline.
Even though we couldn’t get the replacement glass for a few days, they recommended we come to the nearest location so they could put an emergency crash wrap over the window and clean out all of the glass. We were in and out in 30 minutes, and they included the wrap in the cost of repair, empathizing with us for the high cost of the replacement glass.
It seems I read more and more negative comments about customer service in general, and I think that companies in any industry can learn from Safelite about providing service and treating customers.
We hope not to deal with broken windows any more, but if it happens again, we’re coming back to Safelite on Hubbard.

WARNING! WARNING! Do you have a ding in your windshield from a stone? They may tell you that your insurance will cover it and it will cost you nothing. That’s true until next year when you get your insurance renewal bill. I had a clean record, no claims, until I had SafeLight make a 10 minute epoxy repair on my windshield.
Now I have a comprehensive claim on my insurance record that knocked me out of the lowest rate class and they raised my insurance cost $ 126. I confirmed this with a call to Ameriprise-​Costco insurance. Thanks SafeLight. Thanks Ameriprise-​Costco!
Now I’m wondering if this isn’t an insurance company trick to raise your rates…
State insurance inspectors – are you listening?!?

The customer service was great, no problems, very fast, clean and courteous.
This service was set up through State Farm, I’m very happy with the service.
They came out to my home and it was done 45 min later.

Shattered the back window of my 2009 Honda Fit Sport on a Sunday night. Had plans to leave for vacation early the next morning, so time was precious. Was able to easily schedule an appointment that night via telephone for 9 am on Monday morning (an hour after opening). I was asked to give my credit card information in advance, which made me a little uneasy. But, after politely refusing the credit card request, Safelite was happy to oblige.
The next morning, my wife and I decided to press our luck and show up at the Hubbard St, Chicago location before 8 am. To my surprise, there were employees already there, preparing for the day. The employees not only acknowledged our presence in the parking lot, but kindly opened the doors a few minutes early. Even though our appointment wasn’t until 9 am, they squeezed us in and got us back on the road by 9:15 am. We subsequently drove 5 hours up to northern Wisconsin without any hiccups.
Overall, I thought the customer service was great (thanks Luis!). I paid just over $ 300 to replace the back window of my hatchback and thought that was a very fair price. In fact, I expected to pay more. My car was thoroughly vacuumed and the door panels were also opened to remove any loose glass inside the frame. All windows were cleaned as well. The quality of the product seems great, although it’s only been three days.
In closing, here’s a couple things that could be important/​relevant to others:
Glue is used to fasten the window in place and needs time to fully dry. As a result, (1) You cant wash your car for two days (2) No driving with the windows down for two days (3) Can’t use bike rack for two days.
Can’t believe I just spent 30 min writing a review for such an unnecessary expense. Goes to show how impressed I am with the customer service. Will definitely come back next time I make a boneheaded mistake like backing into a closed garage door. Thanks for a great experience!

When I called to inquire as to why my consultant had not arrived yet when I paid a premium to be the first appointment of the day for service on my ’13 Cadillac ATS, I learned that my initial appointment had been «lost» and I had to reschedule a new appointment. I understand that mistakes happen and I received a credit for my appointment miss-​schedule of which I am thankful for.
At that new appointment upon arrival of the tech, I was notified that the wrong glass had been ordered and that my windshield would not be able to be replaced that day.
2 days later when my appointment took place, the tech repaired my windshield. He had a great attitude and personality. My issue is that the week following my replacement I had issues with my collision detection monitoring camera housed behind the rear view mirror and connected to the windshield. I also noticed that the casing housing the camera had not been reattached firmly leading me to believe that the wiring connecting the camera was probably connection in the same lack-​luster fashion.
«Attention to detail needed» would be my feedback when sharing my Safelite experience with other individuals in need of service requiring more than just a basic windshield replacement as my service experience may very well end up costing me more than the $ 500+ for the replacement when all is said and done…

I called Safelite after getting a small chip in my windshield. The customer service rep (in Arizona) was super helpful and friendly, working with my schedule to set a convenient appointment at my work — they can come to you! He also contacted my car insurance company while I was on the phone to verify that they would cover the chip repair. They did!
I was very impressed with my repair technician Danny — he was knowledgeable and very personable. Clean, professional and really enjoys his job. He called prior to arriving to make sure I was at work and ready. Explained the process and how long it should take. And called again once the repair was complete so I could come back down and inspect. The repair was better than expected, and easy!

I checked out several shops in the Chicago area for my BMW (top five on Unilocal). This was by far the best quote I received for a new windshield replacement. The cleanliness of the shop, speedy service, and a lifetime warranty backing up the workmanship was an added bonus too.

I had my Subaru windshield replaced here, and arrived 30 minutes early on a Sunday morning. The technician took me early, and got me out early.
He pointed out a blockage of the tubes in my sunroof that is causing leaking into the fabric lining of my car. Thank you!

So most insurance covers repairs to windshields but not their replacement. Unfortunately the rock kicked up on the highway that chipped and cracked the lower right caused a crack that was beyond the repairable 6 inches. I found this out on my first visit to Safelite. They got me a nice replacement Pilkington windshield by the next morning for a 10am install. Those are OE on BMWs (I’ve got an Infiniti coupe now). I’d been here a few years ago for repairs to my since totaled 3-​series’ windshield.
Gentleman advised me as an insurance job it would be $ 290 and out-​of-​pocket would be $ 320 and to go with the latter so as not to incur higher insurance rates. I took the advice.
Job was done very well in about an hour and a half. I tipped the two fellas $ 10 each. They vacuum your car and clean all your windows as part of their service.
They have a good wifi network so you can plonk around while waiting. Or a stack of magazines.

The service as far as scheduling and coming out and replacing the windshield was good. We scheduled on a Monday and they came out that Tuesday. No problems at all. Thats where the good part ended. I was told that it would be $ 100 and a hold would be placed on my card for that amount, no problem at all. They came out and replaced the windshield and they told me that I was all good.
Fast forward to today… I get a call from them saying that I owe another $ 150. The lady tells me that it was their mistake. I give them a credit card number to charge me for the $ 150 and hang up. She then calls me back saying that she can not do it that way it has to be taken in one lump sum. So she has to return me the original $ 100 (which could take 3 – 5 days) and charge me a separate charge for $ 250. Needless to say I am not very happy with them right now. Hopefully I’ll never have to have a window replaced again and if so, I will seriously consider going somewhere else where the billing practices aren’t quite so shady. Be careful if you choose this place, they may try to get some extra money out of you…

One of the best car-​repair experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly, efficient and thorough. The work was spot-​on and I could not have asked for anything more.
I hope I never see these guys again but if my windshield kisses another rock, I’ll be back.
