BLERGH! Really? This is my fresh salad? $ 11 bucks gets me some raw tofu cubes and wilted-ass produce. So not worth it. Extra star for friendly staff.

This is what the Applenut salad is supposed to be: Applenut Featuring hearts of palm, almonds and walnuts, tossed in Balsamic Vinegar and topped off with crumbled Bleu cheese & slices of Honey Glazed Granny Smith apples This is what I got: Clumps of not-quite-sliced, BROWN apples Old, wilted lettuce A pitifully small amount of almonds and hearts of palm A small container of balsamic vinegar and honey(The apples were supposed to be honey glazed. Am I supposed to glaze my own apples?) A generous amount of bleu cheese I give them 2 stars for having the salad ready on time for me to pick up and for not skimping on the cheese, but old lettuce and brown apples? I’ve had week old, ready-made supermarket salads that tasted better than this.

Hellooooooooooo Salads! I love the salads here. They are great — and they are spun, so how could that be bad? You can create your own, or you can choose from the list of premade deliciousness. As well, they have sandwiches. They are good too, but the main draw is the salads here. They are made quick, and are filling. So much salad!!! But so worth it. I stop in here every once in a while when I want a good salad. Because the salads, like I said, are great!

yes PLEASE! I love this place. It reminds me of the salad places that dominated the marketplace in NYC. You get to choose your lettuce(s), «toss-ins», dressing, protein(including tofu and falafel)… The Japanese wasabi dressing was phenomenal and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh to me. I wish they would open a location near me – I would be a daily patron. YUM.

Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum… not-done-yet…yum yum yum yum. On break from a conference at the Holiday Inn Merch Mart, we went looking for a place to eat. Wanting something light and healthy to endure five more hours of the conference, Salad Spinners was calling our name. We opted to build our own salad but you can also pick from the salad menu which looked good. Unlimited veggies are picked after you pick your greens. I opted for spring mix but there is also spinach and romaijn. They even have fresh fruit. Assotment of proteins for a bit extra and you have an amazing salad. They even have seared ahi tuna. I went for the grilled chicken but there is also fried chicken, shrimp, turkey and I think beef. Assortment of cheeses as well but I passed. Huge assortment of salad dressings: low fat and fat free as well. All total mine came to 10.00 bucks which is a lot for lunch but the size of it is worth it. They also include yummy whole wheat pita which was so good. It would be about three bucks less if I didn’t get a protein. We ate outside but because of location, be prepared to add in mid-sentence the«hang on(gesturing up to the train)» or «WAIT, I CAN’T HEARYOU» when the trains go by. Service was good, quick and very friendly. Though I find, if you’re nice to them, they are nice to you. I know, blow your hair back: what a concept. Oh and now they are serving Berry Chill fat free and lactose free frozen yogert. They were giving away free samples the day we were here. Yummm. Totally will be going there again.

Maybe it’s me but I think the quality of the ingredients has gone way down. Also, it’s so damn slow at lunch hour… next!

I go here because it is convenient, sorta healthy, and a change of pace. I have never gotten any of the salads, only the sandwiches. I really only like one sandwich the falafel wrap. The reason I have had every kind of sandwich is because they RUNOUTOFFALAFEL. I have been going here a year, and they have actually not run out of falafel for a solid 2 months now. My new gripe? The line system they got going there. Seriously they should go to the subway across the way, and see how to serve a fucking sandwich. Subway is nothing special at all, but at least I get in and get out at a decent time. Decent change of pace for loop food, kinda of expensive, slow ordering process and somewhat healthy.

I’m only giving this place two stars because of their extensive nutrition fact listing on their site. Bottom line: their salad tasted like something I’d make at home. And I can’t cook/toss salads… for anything. I got the applenut salad and it was really a huge bowl of lettuce and not much else. The honey as a dressing was interesting and I might do that at home next time. Seeing is that I could probably make a better salad there anyways. Plus it’s kind of expensive for what it is. Maybe if they actually did spin the salads… 50⁄52

Spinners? I think they used to spin the salads. I guess that gimmick got old quickly and nobody cared. But they had the name, so they just went with it. Salad Tossers would be too icky for some people who know the lingo.

The salad with mangoes and ahi-tuna is mouth-watering. Mangoes make everything better in my book. Unfortunately, the prices are pretty high, and I’m sure the size of the salad does not validate the cost of said salad. I’ve only gotten take-out from here, and if the prices were lower, it would definitely be a five-star lunch place. The quality is really good, the food is really tasty, but the sizes — oh so unjustified by the high prices.

This place used to rock before they got rid of the grilled calamari and the steak options for their salads. I’ve been here quite a few times and their salads are good but they were great when they had steak and calamari. The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable for what you get.

I used to love this place until they got rid of half their menu. Given the cuts on product offerings you’d think they’d lower their prices… but no! Still great service at the register, but the salad makers make things so fast that it’s messy and rushed, and half the time they run out of bowls so you get a small to-go container, which is tiny for the prices. They really let me down by getting me hooked on grilled calamari salads then discontinuing calamari forever. I’m still bitter.

Do not, I repeat, DONOT try to go to this Salad Spinners between 12 – 1 on a weekday if you do not want to wait in line. However, after 1pm, the line is very reasonable and you can grab a tasty salad. Like most of the other reviews, Salad Spinners is overpriced. If you don’t need the added meat, it won’t break the bank. The Mexicali and Taste of Italy salads never disappoint. They also have a frequent buyer card to reward repeat customers. My coworker likes the sandwiches a lot, but I have never tried them. Overall, quick reliable bet for lunch in the Loop, but not the most amazing food for the best price.

I’m a big fan of Salad Spinners. I’d never been to one and then they opened up by my office and I go often. I think their ingredients are fresh and delicious. They have several salads to choose from or you can make your own. I never feel rushed when ordering my salad and the staff there is extremely nice. The other nice thing I like is that if your order is over $ 7 you can donate, I think 50 cents to a non profit organization and there are a ton to choose from. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because every time I order a salad it ends up close to $ 9, but I do get to donate some of my money so that’s okay I guess. Here’s an updated review. I now give it 5 stars because the staff is absolutely fantastic and while I pay $ 9 for a salad, the salad is huge and fills me up for the rest of the day. But the best thing about this place is you can order online. All they ask is that you give them at least 20 minutes to make your salad. You order it, 20 minutes you go to the store and when there’s a line out the door you just walk right in and go to the cashier. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Generally, I like Salad Spinners. The salads and selection are huge and the price is pretty average. This location leaves much to be desired, however. The interior was relatively clean after the lunch rush and the staff was efficient, but they(the staff) were so lackluster personality wise. I didn’t get a hi, how are you, a smile, nothing. There was one guy in front of me and 3 or 4 people behind the counter – so no need to be short with words. I also didn’t like the flatscreens with the shifting images – one moment it showed pictures, the next build-your-own-salad steps, and then the salad menu. It didn’t hold long enough for me to look at all the choices so I just went with the salad I usually get. There may have been paper menus, but I didn’t see any at the counter. This location had fountain soda, and a cooler, but the cooler was practically empty – some bottles of water and what looked like a yogurt smoothie. I would have liked to have seen sparkling water or juice or something along those lines. I prefer the Salad Spinners on Wells and will be going there from now on. I recommend you do the same.

Yum yum yum. Boy do I love salad spinners for lunch. Here are my favorite points: 1. I can place my order on line and go grab it so I don’t have to waste any of my lunch hour waiting in line 2. I can either take the mindless route where I go with one of their pre determined salads or I can get crazy and make a hozposh of what I like 3. Frequent dining– buy 10 salads get 1 free. AWESOME! I love free stuff. 4. The girl who works the counter at lunch time is really nice and really efficient and makes lunch easier and pain free for me 5. The salads often last 2 days because they are so freakin huge So needless to say, if I made like 10k more a year I would eat salad spinners every day. The buffa-blue Caesar is my general favorite by far. The ingredients are always fresh and it is fast and made to order to boot. Best salads around.

uh so i was enthralled by the ability to build your own salad on the website for pickup later. Being a web geek i just had to try it so i popped in my order and walked on over. Well there’s a weird vibe to the place, not sure what it is. The woman at the register was friendly enough and charged me less because they didn’t use as much greens or something. The salad was fine, i don’t think it was exactly what i ordered but it was vegan and edible. ETA– Bumped up one star because the owner messaged me personally. :)

I was a big fan of the Salad Spinners on W. Randolph that had to close. I’ve been talking about going to this one for weeks(it’s a trek at lunch) and went today… perfect summer salads! I don’t think $ 8 is too much to pay for a fresh salad consideing Nordstrom Café gets about that much. Love, Love, Love the Sunburst salad with papaya, mandarin oranges, coconut flakes and poppyseed dressing. I was practically scraping the bowl. Don’t go to Salad Spinners for breakfast. It was good once I went there and the other time it was just plain gross. But duh, it’s a salad place, not a breakfast joint!

This location is new(a relocation job after the SS on Randolph closed). So new in fact that I just noticed there are now TWO long lines sprouting out of Lake Street(it’s right next to Chipotle). Salad Spinners IS tasty. And they DO have many salad options. I really like their low-fat dressing options(especially Caesar, often a diet no-no) AND their wide range of ingredients. But sometimes the ingredients /combos are a big miss. And schmoses, is it pricey! Today I came here expecting to easily break a ten dollar bill. The only reason I wanted a salad was because I didn’t get to eat breakfast until 11AM(I know, I know I could have held out until lunch but if I get three meals a day — I’m taking them all!). So I went here at 2:35 knowing they close at 3PM.. .they were in the process of closing already but the nice man behind the counter made me a Little Italy sans meat. When I went to pay, the lady just shook her head and waved me on — FREESALAD! Woo-hoo! That is a high PREESH right there. Their customer service has just secured them a spot in my Loop Lunch rotation for sure.

Tasty, yes. Fresh, yes. Overpriced? Double fuckin’ hell yah. Ugh. Minus a billion stars for that. They ARE fast, though, and they have more than one person making the salads. Thank gosh. I don’t have time to wait in a long ass line while some psycho woman stands there and tries to overanalyze the fat content of the low-fat dressing. It’s pointless. Let’s be honest, she’s just gonna eat the salad and then have an entire pint of ice cream when she gets home and realizes that she’ll never get married and the only things in her life that will be able to console her will be her cats… her hundreds and hundreds of cats.
