Let’s begin by explaining just how much I hate being photographed. I hate it so much that I make weird faces because I feel awkward in front of a camera. I never felt photogenic so I was really dreading this part of the engagement/​wedding process.
BUT THEN, Samantha Simmons came along.
She took our engagement and wedding photos– something so precious and important to capture. She immediately made my husband and I feel relaxed and natural, like we were just hanging out with a good friend. And she is just crazy talented. The natural ability she has that put us at ease and her amazing eye led our engagement and wedding photos to be featured on a top wedding website!

Sam took our engagement photos, and we loved both the laid-​back session and the gorgeous images that resulted from it.
My fiancé and I wanted to capture our neighborhood, so the three of us spent a few hours exploring the West Loop. Sam has a great eye, and she’s very creative. She made many suggestions for incorporating the uniqueness of our neighborhood into the shoot. For example, we climbed into the back of an empty food-​delivery truck on Fulton Street and posed in front of textured industrial garage doors and graffitied walls. Thanks to her artistic direction, the photos turned out to be very unique and beautiful, and the whole day felt like an adventure. We can’t wait for Sam to photograph our wedding in August!

I tasked Sam with capturing the craziness that is our life; for we have three kids (three and under) and we were in the middle of making the move from the city to the burbs. I wanted the girls to have something to remember their first home with, and for my husband and I to have something to remember these amazing, yet hectic, times with. AND BOY DID SHE DELIVER! Our girls, who tend to be shy, warmed up to Sam right away, and she was able to capture their personalities perfectly… it was as if she knew them since the day they were born. Just amazed!
The pictures are beautiful, Sam was amazing, and I cannot express how happy I am to have a these wonderful moments that are now frozen in time. Thank you Sam!
