I had two Hunter Douglas duet window shades who’s lifting mechanism had broken and had to be replaced. I called Simply Custom and the owner who lives nearby stopped over the next day and picked up the two window shades. They repaired them within a week and a half and I had them back in place before my Thanksgiving dinner party. Thanks Greg!

Greg and Serena are «as good as it gets» by Unilocal definition. Both are responsive to customers needs and their need for on time completion and perfection are top notch.

Background info: I called several custom window treatment business in the Chicago area only to find out that many of them do not service the Forest Park area. A few of them didn’t even call me back after I left a message. My criteria for selecting the businesses was based solely on high ratings and the volume of ratings. Unfortunately, Simply Custom, Inc. doesn’t have a high volume of ratings, which makes sense given this is a relatively small operation (with huge positive results).
Let me get on with my review. I called the phone number listed on Unilocal for Simply Custom, Inc. and left a quick voice message. Unlike many of the other custom window treatment business, Greg responded to my voice message within a few hours. On that premise alone, I knew I was going to go with his company. We scheduled an appointment to look at window treatment options at my home. Originally, I was planning to only purchase window treatment for my bedroom. On Greg’s way out of my home, I asked if he had anything suitable for my living room (which I had already installed some black-​out and sheer curtains from BB&B) based on simple criteria, I needed the window treatment to open from the middle of the sliding doors, not either ends. He presented some modern window treatment that I couldn’t pass up. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help me select my window treatment. Greg vaguely remembered there was a $ 50 rebate on the window treatment that I selected and even called his wife while at my home to confirm. He later on followed up with the appropriate documentation and reminded me of the deadline to submit the paperwork to the manufacturer. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Simply Custom, Inc.
Ok, Lastly, I gotta talk about the finished product. DOPE!!! (yea yea yea… reprimand me later for using slang). Until now, I’ve been holding off on mentioning the products that I purchase. F*ck it, I went with two silhouettes in the bedroom and a skyline in my living room all made by Hunter Douglas. Both allow me to peer at Chicago’s beautiful skyline while blocking any peering neighbors. Prior to walking out of my condo every morning, I stand there and look at my window treatment like a proud dad smiling at his children at kindergarten graduation. Well done, B, well done.

I first came across Simply Custom 3 years ago, when I was looking for shades for my bungalow. I have a lot of windows, and cost was a huge factor. Greg recommended a different brand that had the perfect mid-​century pattern I was looking for. A year later I expanded to add shades in other rooms, and he gave me samples to take home to match perfectly for each room. I’m finally at the point to renovate window treatments in my last room, and I’ll be sure to contact Greg again.
Greg was very helpful, never tried to upsell me, and didn’t me grief when I said we prefer to install them ourselves. It was like a breath of fresh air from other window treatment companies I had dealt with in the past.

We were very happy with the friendly service from Serena and Greg. About a year ago we moved into a house around the corner from their previous location and were FINALLY getting around to replacing the window coverings. Greg took my call, and even though they seemed pretty busy Serena was at our house that afternoon. She stayed past 5 to help us think think through what we wanted, and was super friendly. When the particular blinds we wanted weren’t available in kid-​safe form (i.e., without the long strings that are a hazard), Serena called us back right away and helped us select an alternative we’d identified. The cost covered the installation, and the installation tech (Alex) got in touch with us pretty promptly on a Saturday. Alex installed the blinds well before the estimated two weeks and (like Serena) stayed past 5 to get the job done. In our experience everybody involved was prompt and very responsive, and I appreciated the work ethic. We’ll definitely go back to these folks when we want to do more with window treatment.

Made my home magazine BEAUTIFUL!!! Excellent customer service and the owners are extremely knowledgeable about the products they are selling– they really helped me with this tricky window I never thought could get blinds for. When I visited their showroom I felt as though they really wanted to assist me with obtaining the look I was going for and not just selling a product. If feels wonderful to support a local business instead of these giant companies who only care about their bottom line. THANKS SIMPLY CUSTOM!

Well, if you have a penchant for absolutely no professionalism, poor products, and no design skill, than this is the place for you! So so so pleased with quality and timely manner in which product was delivered that I actually had to file a credit card dispute (same piece was re-​made THREE times). I was told that I lost the dispute due to the fact that nowhere on my invoice did it specify the amount of time it would take to receive final product. I am in the process of completing a grievance with the Better Business Bureau. Just keep on driving and spare yourself time/​money/​aggravation. Drive a couple more blocks and go work with the skilled team at Gotcha Covered on Western Ave (prices are way better and better quality blinds/​drapes).
