Spa Nordstrom

I would seriously like to give 0 stars but the facilities themselves were okay. I got a facial and a pedicure — both of which I have done regularly at home. Was in chicago visiting and thought I would have a spa afternoon. The absolute worst experience I’ve had — both to do with the staff. Both women were overly rough and brusque — like neither could wait until it was over, which is how it made me feel too. The facialist kept massaging the same pattern over and over again it began to resemble Chinese water torture, I was counting the minutes until she was done. The manicurist had nails (which is not uncommon) but she kept using her nails to dig in my skin when massaging with lotion and to remove polish from my skin which was pretty painful. I was actually scheduled for a manicure as well but I made up an excuse to leave because it was quite the opposite of the relaxing spa experience I was looking for. Would never go again/​never recommend

I had a facial because they use Dermalogica products and I have very sensitive skin. I made sure they would use ONLY Dermalogica and that was not a problem. Carolyn is a talented aesthetician who took the time to assess how my at-​home products were working and suggested a facial that would suit my skin and give me the results I wanted. Other Unilocalers have elaborated on the wonderful foot soak and wrap. I will definitely return!

Overall I think the services are expensive and not that great. I take clients here only because the proximity to their offices. I’ve had two appointments cancel in the last two weeks because their «techs are on leave.» Appointments were scheduled weeks in advance and when I asked to speak to the manager she was less than helpful. If you plan on entertaining clients or friends, don’t rely on Spa Nordstrom.

I give 5 stars because they have the best prenatal massage I have ever had. Normally places have you lay on your sides since you can’t lay on your back when pregnant but Nordstrom spa has unique beds just for pregnant women. There is a whole to fit your belly so you can lay facing down and then when you turn around they have a cushion of amazing pillows that you lean up against. This was one of the best massages I have ever had and most relaxing. The only downside is that the spa only has co-​ed rooms and they only have 1 bathroom.

I feel that Spa Nordstrom is a great middle ground (price wise) between a hotel spa massage and a clinical office massage. I was very impressed with my $ 110 hot stone massage by a masseuse named Tuesday. She did a wonderful job and the hour felt like it lasted forever — I was in heaven. The treatment begins with a foot soak and hot shoulder wrap in the relaxation room (this is not counted as part of the hour service). While the Spa is small, there are great amenities like hot tea, comfy robes, slippers and lots of fun products to sample. There is a fully stocked vanity with makeup, Moroccan Oil and SkinCeuticals products, for getting ready after your service.

Rude receptionist. Not impressed. They are not open until 9 pm. Was told the last appointment was actually 6:30 and someone higher up at nordstrom would be able to make the correction on Unilocal

Mixed experience at this place. The service was impeccable. Very professional, lovely staff. I liked the details of the service — the foot soak and heated neck pack was great. The individual beds are heated as well which I loved. The spa itself is lovely, with a cosy and secluded atmosphere.
I wasn’t as impressed with the treatments themselves but I think this came down mostly to my own taste. The products are heavily fragranced and artificial feeling, and the facial I had didn’t produce any discernible. I also booked an hour long foot massage but when I realised this was done with plastic gloves I asked not to continue. Credit to them they were great about it and didn’t charge me.
Probably wouldn’t go again. For the price I didn’t think this place was quite worth it.

This was such a disappointment. My mom and I booked an appointment for a nice pedicure and we were so excited. It was a $ 70 pedicure and they told us all the pedicures would be a full hour. We requested extra massage instead of polish. We arrived at 2:00, they took us at 2:15, and we were done before 3:00 but were charged for the full hour. We spent most of the time soaking our feet while they were cleaning their brushes. I really wanted to find a favorite pedicure spot, but I wouldn’t come back to this place.

This spa is not a spa but offers very limited services and seems to hire untrained persons and don’t train them either. They are unknowledgeable and unhelpful. Also this spa seems to attract a very huffy group of women who go out of their way to irritate other customers while the staff don’t seem to mind this attitude either. It’s really a very hostile environment.

I have been coming to this location since 2006 and have always received outstanding customer service. The front desk staff is very accomodating. Lisa and Victoria are both amazing and tailor each facial/​massage to the individual. I never feel like I am being pushed to purchase products. They have a nice relaxation room where you get a foot soak and heated blanket before your services. Most of all, everyone is extremely friendly and even remember your birthdays. Its hard for me to get a massage anywhere else.

Thanks to Victoria for an unbelievable massage and for making this overworked mommy feel special. Loved the foot soak prior and being pampered. I will be back when I’m in town again :)

I’ve already been here a few times, but we usually go here for couples’ massages. Everything is always perfect — the person who books the massages is polite and friendly, and the massage therapists themselves are very knowledgeable. They take the time to really listen to you and ask questions about what you want. My most recent massage therapist was Leah, who really worked on my shoulders (like I asked) since they often feel like concrete. She was amazing and I will be asking for her again in the future. Also the addition of the spa wrap and warm foot bath is always terrific. It’s pricey but all worth it!

The waiting area is nice with the products on the wall and behind that is the pedicure/​manicure area.
The spa area is off behind a door with lockers and a changing area, relaxations room and powder room.
I waited for Belinda (who is amazing) and was led to the relaxation room where they soak your feet and place a heated neck pillow before your service. Ahhhh!
The service itself was great — after lathering up, massaging and toning — my face came out silky smooth!
Though the products are a bit on the steep side, Belinda is great!
The icing on the cake was when she put lotion on my hands and feet and then put them in hand and foot warmers — can i say heaven!
I highly recommend Belinda for your facials!!! She’s the best!

I’ve never had polish peel off of my nails so quickly after a manicure, not to mention a $ 32 one. Two days later and 50% of my nails are showing significant peeling/​chipping. I’ve never experienced this before, and this is the most I’ve ever paid for a mani. So disappointed because I love Nordstrom and how they stand by their products.

I called and got a couples massage on the same day! I am very lucky they had this 1 hour window available right before our dinner reservations down the street. I called around 10am and they squeezed us in for Couples Massage for 5:30 (a surprise to the birthday boyfriend).
They were all very professional and friendly! We brought our own wine and although they were not allowed to serve us, they provided glasses and thankfully they also found a wine opener. We sat and soaked our feet in a rosemary lavender warm water with the hot wraps on our shoulders in a warm robe enjoying our wine.
The took us in a room with two tables, dimly lit with soothing music. Both Simone and Tuesday were great; I think at one point I may have snored bc it felt that relaxing for me. Tuesday found all my knots in my upper back and she worked vigorously on it. After our much-​needed massages, we sat back out where we soaked our feet and they let us know finish the rest of our wine. Which we discussed our knots and our masseuse’s tentativeness to our aching bodies. Great ladies and amazing services. Thanks for making me look like a Super Star for my (last minute) surprise couples massage to the boyfriend for his birthday!
Only upset part of this experience= parking in the Nordstrom buiding, getting our ticket «validated» and the cost of parking was $ 43. =(I wish they could offer discount parking for Spa guests. and if they do, I wish the personnel up front would’ve inquiried with us about it.

Great spa! Went there for the St. Tropez spray tan this morning, my experience couldn’t have been better. Very relaxing atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely become a regular.

I was on a business trip for four days in Chicago and had some down time one afternoon, so I popped into Nordstrom (My favorite store) for a manicure. The spa here is not inside the Nordstrom, but separate in the mall. But it’s so pretty and peaceful! And although I only had a very limited time frame that I could work with, they managed to get me an appointment.
The young lady who did my nails was so sweet. We had such a great time chatting about some pretty intense issues regarding health & wellness (I’m a wellness writer and speaker). I was happy to meet a young person who takes good care of her body and understood the toxins involved with makeup and nail care. She offered me a line of polishes that don’t contain dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde and toluene.
The manicure was performed perfectly and lasted for several days. I also was given a very large, wonderfully scented warm shoulder wrap (which the refreshed several times during my manicure) to wear during the manicure. I was surprised that this manicure was only $ 35.
When I arrived back home after my trip, I received a totally sweet, handwritten «Thank you for coming to our spa,» note from the manicurist that touched on some of the things we talked about. She invited me to come back and see her whenever I’m in Chicago. I absolutely will. Everyone I encountered there provided the service Nordstrom is famous for. Excellent job. Next time, I’ll get more services.

This is an ok spa for manicures (that’s all I got done). The spa manicure was nice, they used paraffin and they put a warmer shoulder wrap on you for the time of the manicure. I did no feel pampered or welcomed. I would not call any of the nail technicians friendly, not were the front desk assistants welcoming either.
Be aware that you are paying for the name not necessarily the service. My manicure chipped the second day, and I’ve gotten much better lasting manicure at other places where I paid $ 15 versus the $ 45 + tip they charge here.
I would not come again.

The daughter went here for an exfoliation and air brush tan to even out her tan lines prior to her wedding day!
The work was great!
She looked utterly fantastic 2 nights later at the wedding! and the night before at the rehearsal.
Just remember that you must include the exfoliation!
Have the treatment within 4 days of your event. Her wedding was on Sunday night, so she had her treatment on Friday evening.
I highly recommend this for brides and/​or prom-​goers who have tan lines that show when they try on their dresses.

Eh, just ok. I wouldn’t even go so far as to say «A-​OK». I’ve only been here for a manicure and pedicure and I doubt I’d go back for a pedicure. Manicure? Sure, why not.
The problem with the pedicure situation is that you’re sitting on a bench (albeit a bench covered with pillows) and they use bowls instead of a professional pedicure chair setup. Normally, this isn’t that bad of a situation, but it just seemed very disorganized. There is a block like thing that they use for the actual pedicure. She was messing with the bowl and block thing way too much. I found myself wondering «what’s going on down there? Why am I sitting here all spread sparrow?» while she messed with the bowl and block thing between my feet. Not relaxing, not a good experience.
The manicure and overall service aside from the pedicure-​spread-​sparrow situation was good. I wasn’t blown away though. My toe nails are already chipping though.
I wouldn’t recommend Spa Nordstrom for a pedicure. Hopefully they do a better job with their other services.
