Spoil Me Hair Salon and Spa

I’m not speaking about the salon in it’s entirety because this was my first time here. However, the gal that did my hair this afternoon destroyed it. After much research and weeks of going back and forth I made an appointment this morning to get bangs cut into my hair. When I arrived my stylist greeted me by asking if I was there for a bang trim (I do not have bangs sink could not be there for a trim). This made me uneasy but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. After getting my hair washed and shampooed she led me to a chair and I showed her an few pictures of what I was looking for. She looked at the picture for about 5 seconds and literally immediately combed a HUGE section of my hair forward and chopped it off. I almost started crying right there. She didn’t take her time to line anything up or double check that that’s what I wanted before hacking away. Not only were my «bangs» uneven, slopping to one side and way too wide across, they went back beyond the middle of my head! She then proceeded to blow dry the rest of my hair half assed with her fingers and let my bangs air dry! I now look like a 12 year old with half a bowl cut. Thank goodness the guys at Alchemia were able to straighten my bangs out so I can at least start to grow them out! They saved the day. I will not be back to Spoil Me. Today was hands down the worst experience I’ve had at a hair salon.

I called them early Saturday morning to see if anyone could get me in for a cut and I was told to come in 30mins (this made me very happy, although I know it must have been luck). My stylist was Maureen and she was phenomenal. I really enjoyed working with her, she was easy to talk to, she listened and provided good feedback to what I wanted. Needless to say, I was very happy with my haircut and will return. Adel also did my hair for a wedding few months ago, I was also very satisfied with her and the way she styled it.

Went to Spoil Me Salon for first time today and Travis was just wonderful! I have really thick hair and like to keep it long, making it a challenge for most stylists. Travis was able to transform my heavy, weighted-​looking hair into lighter, more vibrant hair, while still maintaining the length.
I had gone to Luna Salon and Spa before it closed and was pleased with my hair cut there and was planning to go back. However, the silver lining to Luna Salon closing is that I had to find a new neighborhood salon to go to and Spoil Me was even better!
I will definitely return to Spoil Me for my hair care and spa needs! I highly recommend them!
Only thing worth noting is that you can’t tip if you’re paying with credit, so be sure to bring cash!

I went in for a manicure and pedicure in which I had an appointment at 12:30. I was about ready to leave when my appointment still had not started at 1:15, and the lady came out and started the appointment. I thought, ok I will give it a try. Which I am regretting, because I basically threw away $ 60.
When I finally got into the room for my spa pedicure, I was excited, but met with an extremely cold room and an employee that seemed annoyed by my presence. She informed me the massage chairs were not working and then told me I needed to soak my feet in a tub for 10 minutes. It ended up being 15 minutes, I was sitting in a cold room with my bare feet in a basin of water that was cold after 5 minutes. When she came back, she had obviously had a cigarette and was complaining that she spilled BBQ sauce on her hand. So, the 15 minutes more of me waiting was only so she could eat and have a cigarette. So, the pedicure was pretty awful. And that is saying it in a nice way.
Then we moved on to the manicure. There were about 30 colors to choose from. I picked a color and the manicure started. To be candid, my 7 year old niece could have done a better job on my nails. Once she was done with the ‘manicure’, I looked down at my nails and was already making plans to redo them at home, they were just awful. The best part of this was while they were drying, she said to me ‘I am going to go out for half a cigarette and then I will be back in’. Once she came back in she said ‘you are dry-​you can leave now.’ I felt pushed out of there, I paid my $ 60 and left. I didn’t say anything, I just wanted to leave that horrible place and experience.
From the start to the finish, this was a huge disappointment. I wanted to love this place so much! The name is cute, it is right in my neighborhood, it is just absolutely adorable. But this experience was so saddening for me.

Adel at spoil me salon just made my day with her amazing job today. Not only she was very professional and knew what exactly she was doing, but also she had a wonderful personality…
She gave me the exact highlights as i wanted and also a beautiful haircut…
I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone who simply wants to get the best.

I love working with Adel– my hair always looks awesome and I have never been disappointed. I get highlights and pink put in my hair and it’s always turned out absolutely gorgeous! I highly recommend this salon for color work and a solid cut with some great service! Plus it’s a shot over to Target so it’s an easy to find location with plenty of street parking!

I want to love this place, BUT the new nail technician did not know what she was doing (she just from graduated beauty school) and took off my nail bed. She’s sweet but used acid to take off my no chip manicures. PLUS, the dude behind the counter made me pay a tip to her.
P. S. NO ONE FROM THE SALON CONTACTED ME. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS TOO.

Never in my 26 years of life have I had a positive experience in a hair salon… Until coming to Spoil Me. Travis was the best stylist I have ever met and just a amazing, down to earth person in general. I came in not knowing what I wanted but was thinking about donating my hair that was almost down to my butt. I got 10 inches cut off and thought I would cry but I ended up loving it. I was the only customer in there at the time and I had a genuinely GOOD time chatting with Travis and Adel while I got my hair cut (i usually despise hair stylists and would rather die than force myself to make small talk). This salon is the best and I left feeling amazing, it made my day.

Worth the trek, time and price. The best salon in Uptown, Chicago IL. In one multi-​purpose style, my hair can be conservative, trendy and funky.
ADELE — my hair is now an architectural feat. Love it. My hair doesn’t usually go 3+ inches high. With numerous bad cuts and color, I invested 3 hours on initial visit. With minimal efforts, Adele changed my hair texture.
TEXTURIZING TECHNIQUE — the best I’ve had as it is growing out well.
CONSERVATIVE — hair naturally air dries to a conservative style without effort.
LOW MAINTENANCE — my default Bed Head is a Pompadour. More hairspray to keep height.
PET FRIENDLY — Oh So hangs out here. Should you decide to eat while in salon, please share. LOL
VIBE — very lax. Enjoy peace.
PRICING — when in doubt, go for consult.
I look forward to my long term relationship with Adele. She is IT. At Spoil Me, my hair is no longer lost and confused.

I have been toggling between Spoil Me Salon and the other salon I use in the South Loop. I always go to Adel when I need a special up-​do or even a themed type of hairstyle. What is really cool is on certain times of the year you can see models come in and out since they are very involved in the fashion industry here in Chicago and do a lot of the hair for the models when they are involved in a fashion show.
Josh does immaculate make up and I never leave disappointed. I wish I could just pick up the salon and move it to the NW side!

I absolutely love the work Megan does. I receive compliments weeks after she does my hair. She collaborates with you to get the best look for you based on your wants and interests, and executes the look with perfection. I highly recommend her for a fashionable look that is customized to you.

Had a wonderful experience at the salon today. Regina is so knowledgeable and listens to the clients and provides amazing service. She did an amazing job on my brows and im looking foward to the microdermabrasion treatment.
Adele as always is a rock star and always provides wonderful customer service. My head of hair would go no where else.

Joshi did an amazing job I would recommend spoil me to anyone whos hair is damage or can’t get the color they want to spoil me will make that happen as well as bring back the shine and will make u look even more beautiful. I’m glad I can say I finally found my hair salon that I will continue going to for the rest of my life laughing but very serious. Thanks guys

I just left Spoil Me and I seriously feel like a new woman. I received a relaxer and trim with Joshi after years of doing my own hair. The results were incredible.
I love the décor of the salon and the laid back atmosphere which helped reduce some of my anxiety about getting my hair done at a place I’ve never been before. Also there is a really adorable dog!
I felt like Joshi was very knowledgeable and answered the millions of questions that I had and suggested some professional products that I’m excited to use. I felt very taken care of and appreciated how attentive he was throughout. I will definitely be coming back for my next relaxer/​trim!

Love this place.

Megan took care of me, hair cut and partial highlights and I am extremely happy with the results. She got my idea exactly the way I wanted it. I really recommend this place.

Most awful experience ever. If you want a trashy party atmosphere where people are talking about how the go to the bathroom without tissue paper, this is your place.
I walked in for an appointment and was so uncomfortable with the client experience that I had to leave. Lack of professionalism. A salon visit should not feel like this.

Thank you Joshi! I hadn’t cut my hair in a while, mainly due to people not understanding what I wanted or growing it out to donate it. But, you listened! I feel beautiful and love my layers and bangs. This place also supports many big scale and local charity events and local businesses and designers. Love that!

I booked a pedicure with reflexology and a no chip manicure. It was a great way to spend about 2 hours of my time and I will definitely return. Demi and her nail technician were knowledgeable and friendly. The foot massage was actually relaxing unlike some I’ve had before which can be painful. They didn’t overcut my cuticles and provided a great service. I highly recommend Naturally Chic Nails.

The space is really nice. I got a facial, and the aesthetician did a great job. He taught me a lot about my skin type and why some of the issues that I was having existed. He had, however, just eaten a burger with a lot of onion. Not the best idea when you are going to be breathing on someone. There was also a pretty hard sell at the end for products and service packages.

I found Spoil Me Hair Salon in a bout of desperation with my hair. My former hair stylist had moved to London, and left me abandoned in the city without a good place to get my hair done. I was so distraught by this, that I actually went over 6-​months without a cut… this is when I decided to try Spoil Me.
Luis cut my hair, and was beyond wonderful. He took my drab hair, and turned it into something to be proud of. I am so happy that I found him, and that I now have a top notch stylist.
Unfortunately, Luis (the only reason I continued to go to Spoil Me) has recently left the salon. I do not plan on going there anymore because he is truly a gem. I found him at refleKTion Boutique Salon, and am happy to call that my new hair home. I am sorry for your loss Spoil Me.

This was the first place I went when I moved here and started looking for a stylist. It’s a nice little place in Uptown — the neighborhood isn’t the prettiest, but they’ve gone with it, creating a punky-​industrial vibe in the décor that’s actually pretty chic. Diana cut my hair, and did a pretty darn good job of it; Molly the receptionist was super-​friendly.
I liked it enough to come back for a massage and a pedicure. And while the experience wasn’t bad, by any means, the chemistry just wasn’t there. The massage therapist was good. The nail technician did a fine enough job but was memorably untalkative; I get that some people aren’t big on conversation, but if that’s the case, it seems odd that you’d go into a field where conversation’s a big part of the job, you know? I would talk a bit, and then ask her a question, and she would give me a one– or two-​word answer and then shut up. Awkward.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked these guys fine, but ultimately they just didn’t click with me. Combined with the fact that they’re a little on the high end price-​wise, I decided to try elsewhere — but that was a personal decision more than anything. If you’re new to the area, they’re absolutely worth checking out.

I wanted to send over praise for Marie from Spoil Me Salon! She’s an excellent Esthetician and offers tips of how to maintain your perfect bikini line. Marie makes sure that you are comfortable and her approach is pretty painless. I’ve gone to a few Esthetician’s in the Chicago area, and I felt that if I didnt know about certain remedies and post-​wax care, they were not offering those tips. But Marie was different. I’ve finally found my Esthetician. She’s awesome.
She’s great and i’m not just saying that because we share the same name =)

My hair never looked better! I have finally found the master stylist Adel, and her complete service beauty spot so unique and high quality, and all in my neighborhood!
After few months of great experience working on recovering my hair with Adel, and trying out other services, I thought it could not get better, when Adel brought on board another master, an amazing wax magician Marie!
I have had many painful and unpleasant waxes in my 42 years, but I was completely stunned when I had my first Brazilian with Marie! It was the fastest, least painful, most professional bikini wax experience of my life! I hope she never leaves!
Adel has more beauty-​masters under her wing, if you need your eyebrows beautifully shaped or reshaped, Diana is your girl! She too is amazing, although everyone at Spoil Me is. I am in love with Spoil Me Salon and Spa!

I think this has been one of the best manicures that I got in a long while.
Not only do I love the color; the color lasted for a long time.
Nikita was great, friendly, talkative and I really enjoyed the whole relaxing experience of being pampered. You know what, I think I was really spoiled by them!!!

This is more like a 3.5-star review; it’s better than just A-​OK, but I’m not quite a fan (yet?). I bought a Unilocal deal a long time ago, but I didn’t get to use it before the expiration date. No biggie, I could still redeem it for the amount that I purchased. I set up an appointment with Adel via email. Turns out she’s the owner of the salon. Cool. She’s very personable and nice. I like that in my stylists.
I had my hair permed for the first time a year and half ago, and my curls have kept. But I think my ends are a little damaged so I wanted a trim. If this wasn’t going to look good, I told Adel that I’d like to get a bob cut.
She gave me a trim so that I can have waves in my hair, and then she added layers, which I thought framed my face nicely. I like it a lot when I left, but the problem is that the style didn’t hold for very long. And I don’t know how to replicate what she did to my hair that morning so it doesn’t look quite the same. My hair just kind of falls flat, and the choppiness of my layers don’t look quite as nice/​cute once my hair falls flat. So I’m a bit disappointed.
