I stopped in here for a cold drink while exploring the neighborhood. They were out of the main ingredient for my drink, but assured it would taste the same. A lot of items were blacked out on the menu as well. I wasn’t eating there, but good to know I could get a roll of dirty quarters from the bakery case! Service was fast, but so fast that the cashier didn’t give me correct change. I paid cash and she started taking another order in the middle of the transaction. She put my money back in the drawer because she was distracted! Good thing the register shows how much change is due. I had to wait for her to ring up a few more people so she could redo my transaction which was annoying. I wasn’t asking for anything out of the ordinary, just my money she never gave me!

The Grand and Ogden location is one of the best. The parking lot does get tight at times since its shared parking with other store fronts and a bank. The service has always been friendly and they are always willing to please on any drink or food order. The location is not far from some great neighborhood restaurants and bars along Grand Ave. It’s my go to weekend coffee location! They also have a nice outside patio off to the side which is a bonus!

I have never been so disappointed at a Starbucks in my life. The employee acted as if I was trying to steal a tumbler off the shelf. I was simply informing her that there was no price on the bottom, and was trying to purchase it. The lackluster enthusiasm with which she tried to find the price made me never want to come here again.

The«baristas”/employees were horrible: lacked knowledge of the register; had to triple check orders in the midst of pouring drinks for numerous customers; stated lowering music without doing so; asked customers to move while they swept during operating hours; after asking several times to lower music, turned music down, and began grinding beans for tomorrow… The drink was norm but slightly cooler than sanitary temperature according to corporate’s standard. Something I look for when the«baristas» seem to have less than average work ethic.

I don’t like this location. The parking is terrible and if you order a drink they don’t put a sleeve on it for you. I have to do it myself! I guess my normal location in Hyde Park spoils me!

I go to this Starbucks sometimes to do work and haven’t had a negative experience until today. New guy working the register was very sweet but the blonde girl with glasses was very negative and rude for no reason, dissatisfied with Starbucks’ customer service today.

Had two drinks here last night. No line, no wait, but for some reason the barista rushed through it and drinks were horrible.

Parking is tight & usually full. The staff is friendly & the wi-fi is great. I love their passion teas in the summer & chai lattes in the fall/winter!

One of the best Starbucks in the city! Employees are super friendly(and cute!) and they make the drinks fast, even when it’s busy.

What can one say about a store that is part of an international chain? No big surprises or disappointments here. The partners here are fine; no one that makes me go to see my favorite barista, but no one off-putting either. The parking is atrocious(in Chicago?!? Nooooo way!) and this location is usually extremely busy in the morning. While a bit impersonal, they will, get you in and out fast. So really, nothing substantially amazing or horrible about another corporate drone store. If you want more of a cozy, quiet, chill atmosphere with a great couch and reading selection, go across the street to Sip.

Great location, the staff really does a good job of keeping the line moving. I go about once a week. The only downside is PARKING… I usually have to do it illegally. But in this neighborhood, not any other good coffee options.

Spacious! Plenty of outlets and parking lot. Proximity to bars like Twisted Spoke are a bonus! Sunday’s people traffic is mild. Great for students.

Such a great location — great staff, nice ambiance(somehow feels more homely than a traditional Starbucks), speedy service. PARKINGISSUCH A PAINTHOUGH! I would probably frequent this Starbucks if I lived closer, but even driving by, I think twice about whether or not my coffee is worth the parking hassle. Regardless, I’ve enjoyed the times I have stopped by.

The STAFF are pretty awesome people, they are very friendly. Parking lot is small but after bank business hours you can park on their side. They have a pretty patio, overall great location.

Really want to drop a star since I tried the red velvet cupcake. It is beautiful but tastes super bland. Very disappointing.

Allow me to set the scene and you will understand my gripe: 6:30pm on a Friday night. Chairs are up on the tables and lights seem low. The employees inside can be seen as they are removing all the food from the display cases and washing the floor surrounding the counter. Seems closed. But… it’s not. The sign said it closed at 10pm. I was beyond confused but seeing as a friend and I were meeting there and it was freezing outside, I pulled on the door and sure enough, it was open. Upon getting inside, nobody greeted me, despite having turned around to watch me walk in the door. I felt like I was interrupting their quick getaway. Like they were thinking«Shit! Someone came in and now we can’t close early» Ultimately, I got my order and found a seat in one of the cozy armchairs near the windows. Tucked in a few corners, I noted some other patrons on their laptops. As I sipped my drink and waited for my friend, I watched the crew continue to prepare for closing… over three hours early.

I’ve always been happy to make a stop here for an evening beverage. Some of my favorite baristas, including a lawyer and a gal that lived in Asia, have moved on, but there are still a number of talented conversationalists that serve up a dependable beverage. It is directly across the street from the Twisted Spoke, so I am not sure that Mario R. ever actually went to this location.(Grand and Ogden… in Chicago) Parking is a bonus, but isn’t quite so prevalent during the morning and lunchtime rush.

I know it’s lame to review a massive chain like Starbucks, but I, like G.R., think the employees of this particular Starbucks deserve a shout-out. This Starbucks is practically right next door to my building, and while I try to not spend money on coffee at all(or support my local roasters like Metropolis) I do find myself with an excess of SB cards after holidays. The staff here is quick, cheerful, and always friendly. One time last year I went back in after somehow dumping my $ 4 frappuccino on the ground, and they gave me a free replacement without even seeing the evidence(which was actually on the floor outside of my elevator). I’ve worked this kind of job before, and the kind of friendly service they give me is rare. You know, Starbucks is Starbucks– but the people really make a difference.
