a ok place with a pingpong table for beer pong and decent drinks.

This used to be my ultimate favorite bar a while ago– for both day drinking and late night– but lately I haven’t had the best experiences there. The last few times I’ve gone, they shut off the jukebox and the DJ wouldn’t even accept song requests. Being able to play the music I like was the main reason I loved it! I mean, who doesn’t love a bar that has a beer pong table(yes, I still think I’m 21) but I might need to fulfill my dive bar needs elsewhere :/

Small bar on Chicago Ave, right off the red line, it’s located underground so might be easy to miss, it’s got a quaint vibe, a pool table, foos ball, ping pong, and giant jenga. I liked the vibe and feel, plus plenty of TVs. Pretty good amount of beers to choose from, both bottle/can and draft. They are connected to this hot dog joint and you can order off that menu and have it brought in, it’s pretty cheap and good quality for what you pay for, i got the polish with fries and chips and salsa. I’d be down to come back here again

My fiancé and I both enjoyed Streeters. This was our first time to Chicago and we felt like the locals at this underground bar!!! The food was great. We had the nachos supreme. Melissa was a great waitress. She was very friendly and welcoming. They have this berry vodka that is delicious mixed with some lemonade! Great atmosphere and we love that it was non smoking! :)

So fun! Cheap drinks, great games, and easy to find. It is usually crowded on the weekends, which makes it all the more fun. It is a great place to either start the night out, or stay the whole night! The crowds are eclectic and professional.

A Little on the loud side if you’re planning on having a conversation but, it’s a great place for having a good time! The music is mostly early 2000 hits that hit the right moment when you’re a few beers deep. The pitchers are $ 13-$ 16 which is a great deal if you’re planning on drinking more than 1 beer. We had a really great time and it’s in a great part of town. I love that it’s underground and right by Downtown Dawgs. Yum!

Six of us spent a lot of time here on a Saturday night and it was everything that we were looking for. Total dive feel with a pool table, foosball table, giant jenga, beer pong, and a DJ that doesn’t play all of the modern mainstream pop garbage that you hear everywhere else. A lot of classic rock, 90’s, and requests. Relatively cheap drinks(besides the shots). I think they charged me $ 7 for shots of Fireball. The crowd was mostly college aged and friendly. Very easy to go up to the bar and get a drink, quick and easy service. There’s not a big crowd up at the bar because everyone is busy playing games. The one way mirror in the bathroom above the trough that allows you to look at the whole bar made going to the bathroom very interesting. Overall an awesome experience and I know that I will be going back.

#27 After having some Chicago deep-dish pizza, we decided that it was time to drink, have fun and try to work off some of that rich food. We asked a couple of people for a great recommendation and Streeter’s Tavern seemed to win the vote. We ventured down the avenue, around the corner and there we were – Streeter’s! The place has an almost fraternity feel to it with all the people, the music, the games, etc. I think we found what we were looking for in a bar. They had an amazing selection of beers on tap, the bartenders were super friendly and the people drinking at Streeter’s were not pretentious, but welcoming and hospitable, just like the staff. It seemed like everywhere we went to drink people would start conversations – mostly about the Warrior’s when they realized we were from the Bay, but totally cool and genuine. We had a few beers and decided to play some pool. I could not talk my group into a giant Jenga game; however, I did win all my drinks in our friendly billiards competition. Beer pong and foosball are also available for your drunken game playing pleasure. We also opted to play some music on the wonderful jukebox. A little later in the evening, Streeter’s offers a house DJ, so the jukebox goes down and the DJ brings a serious party feel to the place. People start singing and it is a really great time. Nothing like this in the Bay Area that I have found. Cheap drinks with a super friendly staff. The drinks are plenty, and they are strong and best of all – they are cheap. Believe me, it is hard to find cheap, strong drinks in the Chicago area. Streeter’s will be on my list of staples when I am back in Chicago next time for sure. Stephani Smiles for Streeter’s Tavern ;) #comeforthedrinksstayforthejenga

This place is a joke, «security» are a joke. Hole in the wall bar catering the needs of the shitty under aged college crowd. WILLNOT be returning.

My boyfriend and I spent the night in Chicago and found this place on Unilocal. It was a much younger crowd but we still had a good time. Our only complaint was that the male bartender(big guy with tattoo’s) charged us $ 22 for a Bud Light and a Bacardi on the rocks. We found some seats at the bar and after finishing our drinks, ordered another round and the young female bartender only charged us $ 11.50 for the same exact order. We both had on New Orleans Saints jackets so I don’t know if the original bartender felt that he could rip off the tourists(my bf lives in NW Illinois but just happens to be a Saints fan). I’m not sure what’s going on there but management might want to look into their bartender’s charging practices.

Basically the only place in Chicago that you want to end the night with your crew! Never a dull moment. Most def always run into some tourists though. I mean, what more could you want from a wood-paneled watering hole?

We came here after our work party in the loop for some cheaper drinks. This bar is nothing special, located in a basement pretty much but it had a good crowd as well as large janga and a pool table. Most importantly, the drinks were well priced and everyone had a good time despite being a little crammed.

I almost missed this place walking by, but my friend and I saw the sign and decided to go in. It’s a very cozy bar and I loved the style of the place. It’s small but a great find. The bathrooms were hilarious… especially if you are sitting right outside the wall of the men’s bathroom :) go check out this place to see what I mean.

Great vibe at this place. It’s located in the basement of the brown stone-like buildings near Michigan street and you can watch people’s feet walk by outside, which is kind of fun. This is your typical Midwest bar, with fun décor and huge Blackhawks banners. Life-size Jenga to play with other bar-goers that keeps the whole place entertained. Plenty of seating for such a small venue, plus beer pong and a pool table. The bathrooms also have a secret surprise. Walls lining the men’s urinals and women’s sinks are one-way mirrors to let you look out and watch what’s going on in the bar while you’re in the bathroom. Only downside is the price. For a dive bar, it’s pretty pricey. But that’s fairly standard for bars downtown. Try this bar if you get the chance, especially if you’re visiting from out of the area.

You step down off the street into this place. It can easily be missed. It reminded me of being in the basement of a fraternity house. There was pool, foosball and a ping pong table that had a game of beer pong going… Nothing special just a beer and pitchers joint and a spot to jump into for a quick beer. Don’t forget to check out the bathroom while your there…

I love everything about this place. I’ve had several birthday celebrations here. Giant Jenga, Beer Pong, 2 way bathroom mirror, decently priced pitchers, and the DJ is always playing good tunes. The crowd is eclectic and there is always a great vibe. It’s definitely divey, but in an iconic Chicago bar kinda way.

We had a lot of fun here. Gets pretty wild after 1. Dancing and playing giant jenga after a couple of Jameson shots. If you’re a reader from Philly, it’s like McGillans. If you’re into that…

Would get 5 stars for atmosphere, history and location, but 1 for the rotten bartender. I’m in town for business and was told to stop by here. Great suggestion! Downstairs bar, which might be normal for Chicago, but not used to it so thought it extra cool. Dark and small TVs which is perfect! Pool tables and apparently jenga. Great music! 80s and the perfect noise level. As for the bartender(there was only 1 — it was a Monday night) — she had major attitude and wasn’t just rude to me, but seemed grumpy with everyone. Her bleach blond hair, fake breasts and Botox lips indicate she’s just not happy with anything. Would definitely come back here(and hope for different bartender)!

Beer pong, jenga, dive bar. This place felt like college. Only stayed for a drink on Sunday because it was loud and very crowded but if I lived in the neighborhood, it would be a place I would enjoy going. They had a good drink selection. Wish I could have stayed and destroyed some college kids at beer pong.

Can I tell you how much I love this place!!! And I haven’t even had a drink here. LOL I love this place because one day as I was walking by, I dropped my favorite leather jacket(super expensive one not to mention it has lots of sentimental value to me). Didn’t notice till I was a few blocks down and in an Über. I saw I lost my jacket and started backtracking my steps. I talked to a bunch of homeless people and was convinced my jacket was gone. I was walking back to the hotel where I had last seen my jacket and saw this dude standing outside Streeter’s Tavern. I asked him«by the chance did you see a black leather jacket on the street». He said yes and we went down to go check on it… my heart pounding like crazy. It was there and I thanked the guy profusely and gave him a nice little reward. It totally made my trip. Would have stayed, but had a flight to catch. But next time I’m in Chicago, I’m definitely coming. The interior looked dark, warm and inviting. Looked like a nice local joint that the regulars and few tourists in the know would frequent. I would suggest checking it out.

‘Dive bar’ in an area of the city where you wouldn’t expect to find one. This place was so much fun! Drinks were cheaper than expected for the neighborhood but still kinda on the pricey side. Love the beer pong and the giant jenga which made the atmosphere feel like just a big party! The music they were playing that night was awesome too– love throwbacks! One star off mostly for prices of drinks and how crowded it got(very little personal space). Definitely will be coming back though!

Liked the vibe. The draft beer was warm and a little overpriced(6.50 for a plastic cup of Sam’s Seasonal). I know it’s downtown and all, but I still thought it was a little on the high side for that. Lots of bar game options in here. Kind of has a college bar feel to it a little bit. Was fairly hot inside for not being that warm outside.

Streeter’s is a basement«hole-in-the-ground» kind of bar. Not knocking the quality, it is a simple Irish bar off of Chicago Ave. Stopped by here for a quick beer and can’t complain. They have televisions, bar space, a ping pong table, as well as spots to literally post up at a table. I saw that they served burgers and sandwiches in cool red trays with a pile of fries for a side. The bar food looked good and I would give it a try next time after a few drinks.

Very small, pretty crammed, has huge janga game, foosball, and beerpong. The games are fun but sometimes hard to get your hands on. Floor is sticky from spilled beer. Bathroom is pretty clean. A nice change from the typical bar and club scene in the area.
