I just recently visited the Styling Studio for the first time. I received a Shellac manicure from Deborah. I must say she was amazing. I normally get my nails done for special occasions only but I will be a regular customer going forward. Thanks Deborah for the great service and good conversation!

For many years, I have been going to Styling Studio regularly for my hair and nail needs, even after moving from the city to the suburbs. I especially wanted to mention the Deborah, my nail specialist. Her manicures are EVERYTHING! I am very picky about who I trust to care for my nails; I won’t let just anyone give me a no chip, for fear of destroying my nails. Her level of knowledge about nail care, as well as the latest trends nail style are well appreciated by this busy mom who refuses to just «let it go» :-). Consistently, when I have walked into other establishments, the nail tech notes «wow! I like that color… but I haven’t seen it before!» Deborah keeps me looking classy and current. Check her out, I guarantee, you won’t be disappointed.

I go to the styling studio to get my nails done by Deborah. I have been getting my nails done by her for the past six years and I would not go anywhere else. She makes the experience relaxing, and makes sure all of the tools she uses are clean and sanitized.
Deb takes pride in her work and I routinely get compliments on my nails. I highly recommend Deb for all of your manicure and pedicure needs.

I’ve been going to Deborah Anthony since I moved to the city in 2010. I followed her to Styling Studio a few years ago and couldn’t be happier. I used to live in the South Loop, but I now live in the Ukrainian Village, and that doesn’t stop me from my appointment every two weeks! Deb just did my nails for my wedding and the amount of compliments I received was unbelievable. She is professional, extremely clean and creative. She is not only my nail tech, but has become a friend over the years. Give her a try. I promise you, you will not regret it.

So, I have been getting my nails done by Deborah Anthony for years. The five star rating is for Deborah, as I have never used any of the other services or personnel at the Styling Studio. As a client, I followed Deborah from a spa where she was previously employed. She does excellent work and is very serious about cleanliness and health standards. You won’t find Illegal toxic glues here — no face masks and gloves while your nails are being done (and if you go to one of those places, you better run or get your own face mask to wear). You know the products being used on you by Deborah are safe.
Parking is usually readily available on the street near the salon, but there are some metered side streets a block away for days where the south loop is hopping. While I’m a Shellac no-​chip gal, Deborah also has a great selection of colors in good, quality conventional polish brands.
I have been resisting writing a review because I do not want Deborah’s book to get so full that I cannot get my own nails done. However, it isn’t really fair to keep her to myself. This probably is not a place you have walked past, but it is a place you need to go to if you want your nails done right!

I never been to Styling Studio however, I know Deborah and her work I been with her as a professional nail tech for over 10 yrs plus mainly because I am not able to travel. She readily comes to my home and does the most beautiful and professional job ever. She timely, courteous, and professional. Deborah is always ready to get the nail job done for me and since she knows my circumstances she is accommodating. I recommend her to anyone and everyone with the knowledge she will do a beautiful and safe as well as professional job no questions asked.

Deborah Anthony is a professional, meticulous, and fantastic nail technician. I’ve been coming to her regularly for approximately 7 years, and I never leave disappointed. She stays current with whatever the trends are in nails and does a wonderful job while making sure the client’s health and well-​being come first. She doesn’t use products with harsh chemicals nor does she prefer drilling or stripping your nails. She uses shellac products which last the longest out of all the «no chip» styles but don’t ruin your nails. She uses Vinylux products for pedicures which also last the longest on your toes. I will keep coming back to Styling Studio despite moving to the suburbs because Deborah Anthony is the best at what she does.

My hair looks OK, but my overall experience was not. I had an appointment with Robert. I told him I wanted a simple color and he kept giving me extra treatments that cost more without telling me. Online it said 58 dollars or up for color. I knew that Robert was the owner and it would be more expensive, but it cost 190 $. I was not expecting that. The worst part about the experience was the extra 40 $ he charged just to blow dry my hair. It’s negative 20 degrees outside and he expects me to walk out with wet hair. I think not. In regards to my hair, it looks roughly the same as when I went in.

Sandy did an awesome job ! She is very sweet and patient. She understood what I wanted and gave me the perfect cut !!
Great reception, warm staff, awesome location and 2 hr free off street parking. I dint even check the rates before going as Unilocal reviews were so great. I think 75 $ is very reasonable.

Nail tech Connie is very precise, very patient and very thorough. If you’re the kind of person that’d rather just do things yourself than to let other people do it because you’re an extreme perfectionist… Connie is your other self as it pertains to your nails. I’ve been getting my nails done for about 13 years and Connie is the best I’ve ever had. She’s just so careful and precise and does’t miss anything! She has a very delicate touch too for those with sensitive fingers. Also, if you like designed/​fantasy nails she has a whole book of things she does. I don’t know if she takes walk ins but I made an appointment and was taken right away. The whole Connie Experience took two hours, I wasn’t expecting that but I also didn’t expect her to be so perfect lol.

I had a great experience with Robert. I found my hair stylist! How could I not have not known about this place when I’ve lived in the South Loop for 7 years. It’s amazing what a little research can do.
Robert has given me the best haircut and haircolor I’ve ever had in Chicago! So so happy! And he was very nice too. I’m Asian and he totally gets my hair. I love my sexy hair! Thank you Robert!

Five stars for Michele Lynn, my hairstylist at the Styling Studio. I’ve been seeing ML for three years. She was my first hairstylist when I moved downtown. At that time, I was suffering from a truly heinous haircut, and I needed help — fast. She was featured in Chicago Magazine as one of the best stylists in the city so I figured I would see if she could rectify the problem. I filled out the online reservation form, and I was in her studio within a day. I wholeheartedly put my trust in her, and she worked her magic. For three years, she’s been giving me great haircuts. I’ve never had more compliments on my hair in my life. My hair has shortened over my time with ML… I started with long hair, and now I have a pixie; she does it all, and she does it well. Not to mention that she’s one of the nicest women I’ve ever met. I will continue to go to ML as long as I live in the city/​she cuts hair.
She only recently moved into the Styling Studio. The place itself could use a makeover, but everyone is friendly and helpful.

This is my first review, which you can see how much the service has impacted me. I needed a haircut desperately and researched the whole Chicago for hairstylist good with Asian hair. Took the risk asked for Robert to cut my long hair to a bob. He is very reassuring, making sure he knew what I want and giving his own professional opinion as well. The cut turns out to be really refreshing, everyone who saw me complimented on the new look. Will be returning for more cuts.

Alana is the greatest stylest I’ve ever had. I have natural hair and she gives me a great blowout and has my hair looking luxurious every time. She has a strong knowledge of overall hair care, and uses the best products out there.
The styling studio is a great place. It’s relaxing and inviting and a very professional atmosphere.
I suggest Alana to everyone regardless of hair texture who wants to look their absolute best.

I saw Rob the owner for my first cut at this salon — could not have been more happy with my hair. He did a fabulous job and the staff I met there were very friendly and professional.

It was only serendipity that brought me to Patrick’s chair at a salon other than this one. I had cancellations in my schedule so I decided on the spur of the moment to get my hair cut. Patrick, normally booked pretty solid, also had cancellations because of the snow, and so I met the best stylist my hair has even know. I’m a Pilates instructor so I need hair that doesn’t require a lot of effort. I went in and showed him a picture that I liked, and told him that the cut needed to look good even when I didn’t style it because on most days I don’t. Ever since, I have never had a bad hair day. He’s always been there for me to prevent bad hair decisions. I once came in and wanted to ‘cut it all off” in response to a breakup. He told me no, and said that the next time I came in if I still wanted a short cut, he would happily oblige.
In this world of shady people who will tell you anything to get your money, it’s good to have someone I can trust.

I wanted to update because I had Patrick do my makeup and hair for my wedding in September.
I’ve only had my makeup done a few times professionally before, and I must say, despite the 20+ years of experience the stylist had, and the 10 or so years I knew him, Patrick did a much better job. Patrick’s only been doing my hair for 2 years, but each and every time he knows exactly what’s «me.» It works the same way for makeup.
We did my trial back in July, and while I thought it was amazing and that I looked better than I ever had before, my husband thought I didn’t look like myself. I was bummed. I mentioned this to Patrick and he decided that he had to change it. He toned it down and I looked awesome. I was seriously impressed. If there’s ever another reason I need to be made up like that, I’ll call Patrick.
My hair was equally amazing, and Patrick was so meticulous and made sure it was absolutely perfect. I have to give HUGE props to him for perfectly securing my hat & veil.
Edit: I can’t believe I forgot to say this. My dad has always been a very critical person. Critical of me («If you would just lose 20lbs, you’d look so much better») especially. Needless to say, when he saw how Patrick had done my hair and makeup, my jaw hit the floor as he called me «gorgeous.» I was in serious shock. Initially, Patrick took a few photos after my trial, which he sent me and I posted to facebook. I also sent them to my mom and my aunts, and my cousin decided to share them with my dad. He liked them so much that he insisted I give him copies of the photos, and has been on my case to get originals from Patrick (which I keep forgetting to ask for). If that doesn’t convince you how amazing Patrick is, I don’t know what will.

I had a great experience at Styling Studio. Alana was my stylist. She was very sweet and I was very! very! happy she was able to bring my hair back to life! My hair is a challenge to work with some times. I have wavy hair in some areas, curly in others, and strait in the rest. She went through a step by step list of what she was going to do before hand, which I thought was very respectful. It mad me feel comfortable & relaxed. I loved that the overall experience didn’t feel rushed, which in the past for some reason I always felt like my hair appointments were always being rushed, which leaves you feeling unimportant. It was a pleasant experience & am looking forward to future hair appointments with Alana. I am very happy I was able to find someone in my area… Finally!:)

I have to agree with Cate M. I have been going to Patrick for I think going on 2.5 years, and I can’t tell you how much I love him. He is the first stylist that I can say I truly LOVE. He is also the first stylist that I trust enough to put color in my hair. I even dragged my mom from North Carolina there when she was in town.
I am so glad he is at the Styling Studio. It is so fun and relaxed there. I am glad he found his new playground at such a great place. I will continue to recommend to everyone who asks where to go. I can’t wait to go back and see him again!
