History

Established in 2013.

Stylisted launched in June 2013, providing on-​location hair styling & makeup services to Chicago & the surrounding area. We currently operate in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington DC.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Cofounders Lauren Katzberg and Julia Carmona met as MBA students at The University of Chicago Booth. The two became fast friends and quickly discovered a shared frustration. As women of a certain age, the wedding invitations were piling up. They often wanted (sometimes needed) the help of a skilled makeup artist or hairstylist to go beyond their normal beauty routine, but understanding who was available and who was really talented proved to be a challenge. Unable to endure one more makeup counter experience gone wrong (followed by a plastering of unflattering photos on social media), they decided to take action and build a solution.

Armed with beauty backgrounds at top global cosmetics brands, as well as relevant startup experience, Lauren and Julia launched Stylisted (formerly TheStylisted) in June 2013.
