What a lovely salon. Teresa is spectacular. This was my first visit and when I left I felt like a million bucks! Interesting art for sale too.

I love this place! Several stylists have done my cut, color and up-​do. I have never had a bad experience here. Currently Rand is doing my cut and color once per month and I am thrilled with the result. He is fast but so meticulous that I never have that tell tale line across my forehead after a root touch up… I can go out that very night. Rand also recently gave me a keratin relaxer and that, too, was a great experience. I am normally a person who dreads going to the salon but I actually look forward to my time here. It’s like hanging out with a bunch of friends. Everyone is always happy and chatty… and funny. My 10 year old son has even gotten into the act. Tori did his hair recently and he said it was, «Fun.»
The salon itself is spotless, cheerful and relaxing. I love the artwork they have up from local artists. I feel like the stylists go out of their way to make all of their clients really comfortable. They have even run out to feed my meter and to bring me coffee from across the street.
Going to T Salon is like visiting your best friend. I will never go anywhere else.

Mary has been doing my hair since I relocated here from Seattle last year. I can’t say enough good things about T. Salon and specifically Mary! I trust her 100% with my style.

I NEED the best possible hair color and style that i can get. I am a performer and the hot lights from the stage show everything. From being on tour I’ve had my hair done all over the world and have spent a fortune on the entire Oak St expensive hair salon strip in Chicago and its equivalent in NY. I have found that not every salon or hairdresser, regardless of price or reputation can be trusted to be good, expert. It is all about the talent and desire of the hair stylist, the experience and the care on his/​her part to get it right every time and the level of expertise put in place by the owners of the salon. After many years of wasted money and dry, too-​black hair, i found Teresa and T — Salon. Teresa cares for hair the way it should be done. She works with your hair to make sure that it is healthy and shiny even as she works on your more immediate concerns. (the concert, the dinner, the event) This is important. I believe any hair stylist can make your hair look pretty good for an evening but at what price on your hair? The real question should be can a hair stylist make your hair look good everyday. For performers, the show is important, and life counts too.
T — Salon is consistent — all the stylists are good, they consult and cover with and for each other should the need arise (oh no! a surprise guest! audience member!?) They are also honest if you ask them to be and this is rare. They will come in early or stay late if you have a very special event. So! If you NEED your hair to look great for an occasion or just want your hair to be healthy and look good in general, save on the Oak St parking and come to T-​Salon. It is a great investment and will pay off in the short and long run.

Being new to Lincoln Square — I was in search for a new salon and stylist. Today I got a same-​day appointment at T Salon and Gallery and had a great experience as soon as I stepped in the front door. I was warmly greeted by everyone that came near me and had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Christian. Y’all — he’s amazing. As others have pointed out… he was trained in France — which is very rigerous. Everything he did was thorough and precise, even his hair washing. I’m so pleased with my cut and he was a delight to chat with!!! Highly recommend Christian and T Salon.

When I moved from Phoenix to Chicago, I needed to find my go-​to salon. I was referred by a colleague two years ago to try T Salon and I have been going ever since. The owners and staff are all wonderfully talented, knowledgable and personable. Great hair by great people in a great atmosphere!

One of THE worst places I’ve ever been. Dont talk up your stylists when they can’t understand you. Literally he told me he doesn’t understand because of my accent… I’m American and your from France really? I’m a hair stylist btw and even me explaining to him what I wanted and didn’t want didnt help. I’ve been looking forward to getting my hair colored for a while as my schedule is very busy and thanks to him I didn’t get that today. Owners don’t leave a new stylist alone who doesn’t know what he’s doing. Thanks for making me cry and ruining my day off

I went in T. Salon today and got to meet their brand new stylist Christian, who just arrived from Paris. I was very impressed with his technique and color skills. He listened to me and did exactly what I asked. He is a great addition to the salon! If you are looking for a certain «je né sais quoi» give Christian a try. You will not regret it!

I moved to Chicago a year ago and was putting off getting my hair chopped, despite it desperately needing a trim. I finally snapped out of it and booked an appointment with Christian at T-​salon. I am from France and know how much training you need to get your hairdresser degree there which is why Christian was the perfect choice for me since he is French too. I asked him for a slightly angled bob, cutting off half of the length of my hair in the process. Since it was a major change for me a lot of my friends/​family members definitely noticed and they all loved it! More importantly though, I love it too! And now that I’ve lived with it for a few weeks I am still in love with it. I highly recommend Christian and in fact will be back there myself in a few weeks despite living on the other side of the city.

Pour moi, française, c’est une chance d’avoir découvert Christian, coiffeur français qui travaille depuis peu dans ce salon. Je suis enchantée, très contente de son écoute attentive et de ses conseils. Je suis ressortie de T. Salon avec la couleur que je cherchais et la coupe parfaite. C’est vrai que la French touch manqué parfois aux expatriés.

I love T. Salon! Not only do I get services here, but my husband always goes here to get his hair cut. Everyone is wonderful and extremely nice :) I, personally, get waxed and hair cuts by Kassi. But she also did my wedding hair for myself and my bridesmaids this past August. She does gorgeous updos and I would recommend her to anyone! My husband always goes to Teresa and his hair has never looked better!

I went here for my first time to get a trim and eye brow wax just a few weeks ago. Loved this small local business and the comfortable feeling within the salon. Kassie did my hair and brows and did a great job. I have very curly hair and a lot of people feel the need to hack it, but she listened to my concerns and did what I was comfortable with.
After my cut, I left a very satisfied customer and was very happy I found a quality place so close to my apartment. I received a call a a few weeks after the cut regarding issues with my payment. The owner, Theresa, called me and told me what happened and insisted numerous times that I not pay for the services due to the situation.
To sum it up, T Salon is a quality small business with great customer service.

I’ve been going to Tori for over 9 years and have had styles from very short to long and always get compliments on my cut and color. I’ve even had my orthodontist compliment my color several times under the harsh dental lighting! The cuts always grow out very well and whenever I had an issue with a cut or one time wanted an adjustment to my highlights, Tori has fit me in right away and made sure I’m 100% satisfied. She also does a great job cutting my 3 sons’ hair.
Since Tori has built up a great reputation in Chicago, her regular clients keep her schedule booked out for weeks. My mom was recently in town and needed a cut and color and went to Rand who was able to fit her in within a week. Rand gave her a sleek new style and did an amazing job on her color!
In addition to great service, the salon has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

What can I say, the staff here and the energy of the place is amazing! Tori gives an amazing haircut for my curly hair. I am so glad my friend recommended this salon.

Three years and counting, it is 5 stars again.
Stylists are creative, professional and enjoy their work. They want you to be satisfied. For the first time ever I decided to call and tell her that the cut was «acting strange.» Bingo. She wanted me to come immediately, telling me «I need to see what it is doing now.» Unbelievable. And she stayed late to see me. That seems to be their general attitude about customer service. The best part is that we collaborated and I ended up with a new style. I always get compliments about my cut and color.
Nice ambience. Relaxed, friendly, attractive and very clean. Owned by women if that is important to you. Steps from the Damen el stop.
I just hope they don’t decide to retire early.

Tori does wonders with my hair, and has all the qualities I want in a stylist: she is friendly, warm, listens to what I want (!), runs on time, and always gives me a bangin’ haircut. I love the overall vibe of the salon, too. It’s inviting, clean, cheery, and filled with entertaining staff. They also sell Bangstyle products (I love their shampoo, conditioner, and hair spray).

Rand is a color genius!
I was looking for a big change – going from a blond to a dark brown/​red including a new edgier cut. I walked around the corner from my place to T. Salon and made an appointment with Rand.
There was a long complicated process bringing my highlighted blond down several shades, but Rand worked some kind of magic. He was able to turn my straw-​like damaged locks into shiny dark RICH color. (He even threw in a special treatment during the shampoo on the house because he thought it’d look nice.) I have been getting compliments all week!
I also loved the friendly atmosphere where the staff had fun bickering back and forth and customers played with the cutest little chihuahua puppy ever! It was a nice change from the colder big professional salons I’d been to in the past.
Overall, I think I’ve found my new go-​to place.

I’ve got really curly hair, and I’ve never really had a hair cut or hair style I was truly happy with. This resulted in just letting my hair grow long and keeping it in a pony tail most of the time.
Well, leading up to my wedding, I decided it was time to getting a «grown-​up» hair cut, so I took the recommendations of two of my friends and made an appointment with Teresa. I couldn’t have been happier. She patiently listened to how I typcially approached my hair, and gave me a really sharp new style that looks stylish and clean, and a little shorter but without chopping off all my hair or doing anything that would make me not look like myself at my wedding. I love my new style and am glad someone finally showed me that my curls can be tamed!
In addition to the great haircut, Teresa is just one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She’s very warm and friendly, as is all the staff at T. that I’ve interacted with. Even after just one appointment, they’ve made me feel like a long-​time client. Teresa even came out to say hi last week when she saw me walking by on my way home from the train.
I really can’t imagine going to anyone else ever again!

I have had a hard time finding a good colorist in Chicago. I had some decent highlights but if I’m shelling out some big buck, I want it to look amazing and not fade out after 3 weeks. I finally found the best colorist after living here 5 years. I am leaving Chicago in a month and now I wish I would have found Kassi sooner!
I went to Kassi last week and she did such an amazing job on my highlights! She took the time to go over what I wanted and the outcome was beautiful! She was able to foil in 3 different shades of blonde and I am more than thrilled with the end result. Go see Kassi at T. Salon, you will not be disappointed!

I have been delaying this review for a few months because I have mixed emotions about my experience here.
I had read many positive reviews about Ken on Unilocal and since I was going for a dramatic change in hair style I was looking for a great stylist who would not disappoint. I had really long hair and was ready to cut it quite short, just under the ears.
I brought in a photo of the hairstyle that I wanted and explained exactly what I liked about it: the length, the side sweeping bang and the edgy feel. Ken was very pleasant and though he listened to me, I don’t feel the result met my expectations. He asked if it would be ok if he styled it a little differently for today and said that I could get the same beachy/​edgy styling result from the picture at home. I agreed to let him style it as he wished, which turned out to be the opposite of edgy, and now I regret it.
It was a pretty haircut and I received many compliments on the change, however I was unable to replicate the edgy style from the picture which is what I really wanted. The cut was nothing like what I was expecting. I’m not a pro when it comes to hairstyling but I really tried many different ways, products, etc… and it just never came close. I don’t know if I need to blame the cut or my skills but I just wish I had received the style I requested at the salon. At least I could have observed the proper styling technique if that was the issue.
Bottom line: Cute salon, friendly staff, but disappointed in my results. I would give it a second chance but am still in search for the ultimate stylist.

With my hair in desperate need of a cut (I hadn’t been to a salon in over a year), I decided to give T Salon and Gallery a call this past winter.
The salon was very clean, warm, and welcoming. Tori took the time to talk to me about my hair, how much time I wanted to spend styling it everyday, what she would and would not recommend based on my face shape, my hair’s texture, etc. I really appreciated the care she took in explaining what she thought would work best for me and my hair.
However, I was a bit underwhelmed once all was said and done, as the finished cut was not really what we had discussed at the start of the appointment. Also, it did not grow out well, which, for me, is the mark of a good hair cut.
I would still give T Salon and Gallery another chance, but I would be much firmer about what I wanted.
