I didn’t know this was restaurant #3. If there are other restaurants out there like this then Chicago should be thanking the owners. Great service and food is delicious. You won’t regret this. Tastes even better after 12 beers.

Just stopped in because it was convenient — I had my car two doors down being looked at. Surprise surprise, the food was delicious, and the fellow behind the counter was super friendly. I got a carne asada burrito suiza, delish. The right amount of crisp on the steak, the burrito shell was perfectly toasted. Will definitely come back!

Yes, they finally accept debit/credit cards, Hallelujah!!! As if I need another excuse for more burritos, ha! This place is reasonably priced, quick, and delicious. The burritos can be a little greasy at times, but overall TBE #3 is an excellent spot to hit up after a night on the town.

Yum, yum, yum! I had two tacos: steak and picadillo. Quality and seasoning of the meat was great. Both green and red sauces were fabulous. My husband loved the green sauce so much… and he’s a self-proclaimed green sauce aficionado! We ate left overs for lunch the next day, and they did not disappoint. As good as they were the night before! The food was so super fresh, made to order, and delicious. And I also loved that the restaurant didn’t make your clothes smell super smokey! Fair warning: they are cash only and I do not believe they serve alcohol. Now, if they are byob, that would be awesome, so I recommend you check before visiting! The only lackluster thing was the pico. It had so much onion in it and not enough juice. Pass on the pico and order at least one of everything else!

Always an incredibly nice guy behind the counter and cooking away. I get the al pastor burrito and ask for it spicy. He throws in some jalapeños and some additional spicy red sauce on the side. Its my go to in Wicker Park, love it!

On the 8th day, God created Taco & Burrito Express #3. We got two MASSIVE chicken burritos, two chile relleno tacos(each almost as big as a Chipotle burrito), a huge bag of chips, and a massive container of guac for under $ 30. The employees are SO nice, the food is incredible, and you get double the amount of food you would get at Chipotle for the same price —(and better yet, no norovirus — HURRAY!).

Great tacos, guacamole and sopes. Super friendly family run establishment with super reasonable prices. This is one of my go to Mexican spots.

It’s not super classy next level taco nonsense, it’s cheap quick Mexican food that you can get when your trying to stave off your impending hangover. Given that, it’s pretty good. They may have gotten my order wrong last time(I wasn’t overly sober at the time, so it may have been my fault) but the service is quick and easy. Only wish is that I didn’t have to have cash to get it.

Unassuming venue, really friendly service, reasonable prices, solid tacos! Way exceeded expectations! Disclaimer: I’ve only been here once and all I’ve had are the chicken tacos.

Solid food reasonably priced. You get what you pay for nothing more and nothing less. Not the fancy food you’ll find near by on Milwaukee but it’s not trying to be and at a fraction of the price often a much better deal.

Have a craving for a made-to-order Mexican dish? Boom, you’ve found the right place. I have ordered the nachos, burritos, tacos, and salsa plus chips at some point in the last three visits. All have been tasty, spiced appropriately, and filled the stomach without emptying the wallet. PS cash only — no atm. There is a bank across the street if needed.

This place is my #1 lunch spot in the area. I work nearby and love to treat myself here on Fridays. I always order the tacos. I have tried the tacos al pastor and the carne asada. Everything here is freshly prepared and served to you hot and delicious. It’s a small but clean place with a mom and pop atmosphere.

The first time I stopped in at Taco Burrito Express #3 was the night I decided I would never order a taco at Big Star again. Luckily for Big Star, TBE3 doesn’t serve alcohol, so they’ll still get my margarita business. What TBE3 does serve up, however, is awesome(and affordable!) Mexican food. I’m partial to the three taco dinner or a classic steak burrito, as the steak is always juicy and flavorful– a very reliable choice. But the al pastor is also great. And, though not a vegetarian myself, I’ve had many a vegetarian friend rave about their veggie burritos. The employees are also wonderful: they’re friendly, helpful, genuinely grateful for their customers, and the food is cooked to order(and usually doesn’t take but 10 or so minutes, unless they’re really busy). Every time I see a list of late-night taco joints put out by Timeout Chicago, Thrillist, or The Reader/Red Eye, I’m always surprised to not see TBE3 on the list. And that’s because this isn’t just my favorite taco joint, it’s my favorite«I don’t feel like cooking tonight» joint, and my favorite«I had too many margaritas at Big Star» joint, as well as my favorite«I’m gonna order an extra burrito tonight, so I don’t have to cook breakfast» joint. …Thank God they don’t deliver, or I’d probably never leave the house.

So pleasantly surprised!!! First, the gentleman at the counter was exceptionally nice. He seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Our food was freshly prepared – you can clearly see everything being cooked to order. I had a veggie burrito, and it was simple and delicious. They use fresh broccoli, peppers, carrots and zucchini! I haven’t had such a good veggie burrito since Mamacita’s closed. And the hot sauces are terrific – the green is milder and very fresh and bright tasting. The red is smoky and spicier, with a pleasant touch of bitterness from dried chilies. I should also mention that the place is spotless. It’s definitely my new go-to spot for cheap, quick, tasty Mexican food!

Chicken tacos were really good and so were the French fries. The only thing that sucks is the place is cash only but it was well worth the trip to the atm across the street!

Open late, not too busy, gets the job done. Ambiance: dosnt exist. This is tacos! Bright fluorescent lighting. Few chairs and tables. Clean Service: Good. I came during a shift change. The girl who took my order was possibly sleepy as she couldn’t say what was on the veggie taco but then asked if I wanted everything on it. Huh? Yeah that eas my face. A woman arrived After and she was on it with moving orders and getting the line through. Food: Meh. Veggie taco had broccoli, carrot, onions, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese. Note I did not use the plural tense on some items. There was a sliver of carrot and broccoli to be found in my taco. Otjherwise, it was warmn and fresh. Price; cheap $ 2.25 for a taco Would I go again? Naw, I’ll check another spot b4 returning.

This is a super simple late night burrito spot. Good food and respectable service. Not much more to say for this late night, burrito spot. If you are in the area it is a cheap spot for some hearty Mexican cuisine.

Great customer service; fresh ingredients. Perfect portions and reasonably priced. I had the ground beef burrito. I plan to eat one of each of the items on the menu by the end of the year. Actually might even get some tacos and bring them back for the Super Bowl. These guys will be seeing money over and over again!

My favorite burrito in America. I take my parents here in broad daylight; I take my friends here in the late hours of the morning. The result is always the same – wholly satisfying, hot, delicious food that is worth going out of your way for. Anyone who says otherwise would have to write it down because they’re probably missing their tongue. My favorite thing on the menu is the Al Pastor burrito. It’s perfect! ¡Viva Número Tres!

Although it has been over a year since I left Chicago, I knew I would have to write a review for this place as soon as I created a Unilocal account. I used to live down the street from this place and it was the most convenient place for me to get food late at night. Convenient AND delicious. I’m a big taco guy so the chicken tacos were perfect, and with a side of guac and chips… ohh yeeeah. They also have many beverages to choose from, Sangría Señorial being my favorite. Sober or a few beers down, your investment in their food will be rewarded with simply delicious taste.

Just delicious, can’t really put it better than that. My girlfriend gets the beef tacos and I get the steak burrito. The guacamole and quesadillas are also fantastic. Highly recommend! Edit: Forgot to add that they don’t accept credit cards but the gas station on the corner has an ATM.

Wow! What a great little Mexican spot in Wicker Park. I live down the street and stopped here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The place was empty but I assumed it was due to the odd timing that we were eating. We ordered the steak burrito dinner and the chips and guacamole. I am not an expert on Mexican food but it was the best steak burrito I have had in the city so far! The guac tasted fresh too. The food was prepared in a timely manner and the kitchen is open-air so you can watch them cook it. There is some indoor seating so eating-in is an option, but it seems to be more of a take-out spot. The business appears to be run by a family that was incredibly friendly. It is cash only; which doesn’t deter me at all but I understand it might deter some. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to give this family some more business.

I appreciate Beef Tongue($ 2.75) on the menu. Slow service. Not t-h-a-t cheap as tacos range from $ 2.50-$ 3.00. The plate dishes looked sparse.

A-MAZING. I am not exaggerating when I say it’s the best burrito I have ever had. The crispness of the flour tortilla greatly enhances the yummy ingredients. I definitely agree with other reviewers about adding the onion and cilantro — it’s free and makes the burrito even more delicious! I took away one star because the«hot» salsa(red) was no where near spicy to me, but I do expect my nose to run when I ask for hot. Also cash only is kind of a pain. However, I will definitely go back to try some other items on the menu. Yum!

Cash only! Chips are served hot and taste like fresh corn. Steak tacos are lean and tasty and the chicken tacos are meaty and juicy. Red hot sauce was a little too spicy for me but I really liked the green one. Service was fast and friendly. We dined in and the little tables were just cozy enough for a quick meal.
