I was really surprised to see this place had closed. Granted, it was never really full, but the Moroccan food was delicious. When I went, it was with a huge group, and we shared the wine we’d brought and shared tagines, hummus, salads, couscus, and I can’t remember what all else! No one left hungry, and everyone left happy with both the service and the food. Too bad it closed, I would definitely have returned. Such is restaurant life in the big city.

I was recommended to go to Dorado but could not get a good reservation until 9pm. That is way too late. I went to this place instead. I have not had Moroccan food in awhile. I was somewhat impressed. The menu was minimal which can be good or bad. We were served 2 types of olives that were delicious. Would like to try other things on menu. Over all they have dishes that are stewed. Giving another try. Best of all BYOB

This place was nice and close to me. I had walked by here several times on my way to the train, so i thought that it was time to stop in. The menu is pretty small, and there weren’t many vegetarian options, but those that I had were good. We got the vegetarian sampler and it was tasty. I liked the hummus and the spinach dish was appetizing. I’m not a big fan of eggplant as it is. My vegetarian tagine was delicious. I liked that it had vegetables that I don’t eat often enough like squash, turnips and artichoke hearts. Mmmm. My companions both ordered meat dishes and they both seemed pleased. They said that the sausage was very good. I think I’d like to go back here during the day and get one of the sandwiches on their lunch menu.

Just good. The meat and vegetables were slightly overdone, and could have had a few more spices — I didn’t think it was all that authentic. The servers are pleasant and the service itself is excellent. BYOB which we like, but there are better Moroccan restaurants in Chicago.

I thought the food was good, not great. I had the chicken couscous and I had to dig around to find the chicken. The waitress was really nice and she is actually Morroccan so it was kinda fuin talking to her. She is the cousin of the owner. It is BYOB and from our conversations I don’t think they are planning to get their liquor license. I was there on a saturday night and there were only about 4 table there. I guessing it might not last. There was really no atmosphere there but the food is good, not expensive and there was street parking right in front!

I’ve made a couple of visits to Tagine and have had a great experience each time. Their dining room is tidy, uncluttered, and pleasant and the staff is very attentive & friendly. They also have a small outdoor streetside dining area. My favorite dishes have been their tagines, which are basically meat or fish or veggie dishes slow-cooked in a clay pot, so everything is juicy & hot when served. Each tagine dish is filling but not overwhelming, if you are with a group of 3 or more, I would recommend sharing several different tagine dishes. They also have kebab and couscous entrees — whatever you order, I would recommend getting an side dish or two of couscous, it’s light & fluffy & delicious, among the best couscous I’ve ever tried. They are still BYOB, w/no corkage fee.

Tagine is a fantastic new Moroccan restaurant located just north of the Rockwell station on the CTA Brown Line. The tagine is a standard meal in Morocco in which a stew is cooked in a distinctive clay pot with a conical lid on it. One of the tagines included lamb, prunes and eggs, which sounds like a bizarre combination but was very good. The couscous platters are large and filling, especially my «royale» version featuring several kinds of grilled meats. It’s not a large place, so go early to grab a table and BYOB if you wish. The mint tea was not quite as wonderful as in Morocco, but I probably did not drench it with as much sugar as they do in the old country.
