We love this spot! After trying several different groomers in the area we finally found THE spot to get our 10 year old dog groomed. Staff is welcoming and do an amazing job. Thanks again, we will recommend you to everyone!

I’ve taken my skiddish 9 year old Sheltie here 3 – 4 times over the last 9 months and had exceptional service each time. His attention span is short, so brushing at home is rarely enough, but they are always able to get the mattes out and leave him looking great and fluffy! I always get compliments on how pretty he looks while I’m walking him home from his appointment!

I love this place! Tara is the best! I take both Patsy and Cash there and they not only get the best groom they’ve ever had but they also have a great time there playing with other dogs and running around having fun. They usually don’t want to come home and would prefer to go back to work with Tara. Tara gives them the complete spa treatment… shampoo, blow dry, cut, ear cleaning, breath freshening, and nail clipping. I wouldn’t ever think about talking them anywhere else!

They don’t listen very well they may be pet friendly but when I went to pick up my dog she had only been trimmed and not styled the way I wanted.

Truly the best pet groomer we’ve ever experienced. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgable. Our dogs Charlie and Roscoe love going here because they get to hang out with people and other dogs rather than being locked in kennels.
They always come out looking like perfect gentlemen with their dapper Schnauzer cuts; they clearly have the magic touch. Can’t say enough great things about Temple of the Dog. Look no further for pet grooming excellence!

Frank, my Havanese mix, was one of my foster dogs that I just couldn’t give up. He had been very abused and was afraid of everything for months. Although he now loves all humans (still a bit afraid of big dogs), every time anyone comes near him with any type of implement (vet, groomer, etc.) he gets extremely afraid and wiggles and cries like crazy. I had been cutting his hair myself, but it was more than I could handle because of the wiggles. I was so worried about traumatizing him by leaving him with a groomer. But the groomer spent hours (literally) with him, at one point telling me he had fallen asleep so she was letting him rest before finishing up. When I came back, there he was in the window, smiling and watching for me! He’s going to be my daughter’s ringbearer in her wedding in December, and so he has his second appointment coming up.

I rate my dog grooming experiences on one thing alone, as I’ve asked my pup several times if he likes his hair cut and he doesn’t care how he looks. My rating scale is the mood my dog is returned to me in. I’ve had him returned to me shaking, afraid, and in fear of his life — NOT from TOTG. TOTG returns my little guy in a fantastic mood. He’s happy, comfortable, and I know he’s taken care of when he’s there. The fact that he looks like a million bucks is gravy to me. Thanks TOTG! I can drop my little guy off with confidence that he’ll be well taken care of and come back looking dapper.

I LOVE this place. I’m a first time Doodle owner, and have never had a dog with a high-​maintenance coat, so I’ve gone through several groomers trying to find one that a) would give my girl a cut that ensured she was comfortable and mat-​free b) did not shave her down to where she looked like a naked mole-​rat. I didn’t realize this would be such a task. I finally found Temple of the Dog on Unilocal and decided to give them a go. My dog has been there twice now and looks perfect after each trip! The staff is incredibly nice and I love that she’s able to hang out in the reception area rather than in a cage while she’s waiting to be picked up.
My one (just one) issue with this place is the actual booking. The first time, I had filled out an online form, received a call from a staff member the day of the e-​mail, and booked an appointment. The day of the appointment, I came in for a groom and we weren’t on the books! The staff were super awesome and still made sure to fit us in. The second time I tried to book online and never heard from the them. Finally I called them. The booking software had shut down so the person I spoke to on the phone said she would get me in and confirm with an e-​mail. I never received an e-​mail so I called back later to find that no appointment had been booked! I’m happy I followed up and my girl was able to get a perfect blow-​out in a few days. I realize that booking issues occur and my problems were probably an anomaly. At the end of the day, my pup looks BEAUTIFUL and I’m one happy camper. Also, major props for them offering a discount for rescued furry ones.

I called this morning and was able to get my dog in the same day, which was great! The staff at this grooming salon are very friendly and I felt that my dog was in good hands when I left. The salon was very clean & I loved when I walked up to pick up Tails after her appointment you can see your pet just rooming around this open play area with big windows for her to look out. If you are a new customer you get 10% off your first visit which is a nice deal. I definitely would recommend this place and I think I have found my new go to groomer for Tails.

I feel so comfortable bringing my dog here. I brought him for his first visit probably about a year ago, and I’m not sure why I didn’t return for all of his grooming needs thereafter, (it was a great experience) but we’re back and Temple is better than ever.
Tara is such a sweetheart, and as a small business owner myself in the service industry, I can see she’s genuine and I love that.
My Barkley looks great, and what I really like most is when I approached the lounge to pick him up, I see him through the window laying down under Tara’s desk as she’s working. Your dog will be able to roam about and be comfy sans crate/​kennel after his/​her service!
This is simply a great place! Very comfortable and zen like and that’s comforting to me after having a less than desirable experience at another groomer and hearing horror stories about other places that care for dogs.

They are awesome I love how sweet they are my grandfathers dog would come out all depressed from other places, but not from this place it’s very clean and neat and they give very good customer service.

Finally a place that knows and understands Miniature Schnauzers. My Wes has just receive a great classic summer cut. They gave him a show cut for winter, perfect for the holiday pics, but its tough to fine a summer cut that’s doesn’t make your dog look like a mongrel. I almost hate rating them so high, I know I’m going to have to book way in advance but believe me its worth it. Good job.

This was the first place that we brought our dog for grooming last year when we moved to Logan Square neighborhood. We actually thought the place was nice so we brought him back for couple times. And then, my 8-​month-​old puppy had a luxation patella which required a surgery.
After being fully recovered (took about a half year), we worried about taking him back to any grooming place. He became little more sensitive and protective of himself. Since we didn’t have any chance to try out different groomers in our neighborhood before, we wanted to try them out and make our final decision. We tried 3 – 4 groomers and that actually made our dog even more stressful. With these groomers, my dog always appeared to be anxious and most importantly, he did not like any of them. So we went back to our first choice, ‘Temple of the Dog & Meow Lounge’, and was glad we did. As we walked in, we were welcomed by Krystyn and she actually remembered our dog (which was amazing!). I told her how I wanted my dog to be cut and she respected all my instructions.
When I went to pick him up Krystyn explained how everything went with my dog. He looked wonderful, fresh and clean but didn’t smell like he just put a chemical pet cologne. And even better, my dog gave kisses to Krystyn afterwards, which he never did to any of the groomers before. This means she treated him well while she was grooming him. They are also good with the timing.
We are so glad that we found this place and will be returning as a regular customer!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Krystyn is my boys favorite groomer and I would follow her wherever she went, however I am so happy she wound up here! I love going to pick up my boys and having to literally drag them out because they are having too much fun and don’t want to leave! The environment and the people that work here are phenomenal and I couldn’t ask for better!

Our pup Hudson loves coming here. And he leaves looking fly and smelling fresh. Wish it was a little closer to us, but worth the drive from Lincoln Park.

Best all around. I work next door and they are also great neighbors and an awesome addition to Milwaukee ave. My dog loves everyone there and is free to roam and feel at home when I leave him. You know they really love dogs. So happy they joined the street awhile ago. We go every few months for a much needed pampering!!!

Yea, I am a big fan of the
Temple of the Dog & Meow Lounge. here’s why, they take excellent care of my dogs– I have an older delicate German Shepherd that needs grooming more often than I am willing to do it myself– In fact, I can’t do it as well as Tara and her staff. They are pros and each time I leave my dog off, when we walk into the door my dog knows that something is in store for her, and she is ok with it, — the work is done in the time specified and when I pick her up, she looks great and is never stressed out after her visit. I also have a smaller short haired dog, that only needs her nails trimmed, now she is a little freaked out about having her nails trimmed– I let Tara trim them. it is fast and over with before she knows it– prices are fair and reasonable, even if you are not in Logan Square– make the trip for grooming at The Temple of the Dog and Meow!

Came here because of the great reviews + they offer stuff like paw rounding ala cart. I like my shih poo with longer hair so it’s great that I can keep him neat and clean as his hair grows out.
There was one dog in the front area when I dropped my guy off 15 minutes early and 2 tiny dogs getting bathed when I picked him up, so it doesn’t seem like they just have 20 dogs running around at any given time — so that’s good. I also wasn’t sneezing up a storm from hair floating around or getting nauseated by an overwhelming wet dog smell — so even better.
Came in for a full groom for my first visit and the owner gave me the new customer discount unprompted. Haircut is even, they respected instructions (e.g., short chin, trim tail, etc), they finished in the lower end of the time estimate, and my dog smells great even on day 3 (I assume that’s due to the shampoo because it isn’t a chemical «pet cologne» smell).
My guy looked so happy frolicking around the place when I picked him up so, although I never had a problem with him waiting in a crate, I really love that he doesn’t get «locked up» here. He also peed a lot afterward so he must have had free reign of the water bowl. And the owner is so sweet.
Very close to the blue line, you can add a tip on your card, and they call your vet to confirm vaccinations. Couldn’t get a same-​day appointment but got one a couple of days later. Worth the wait. Will be coming back :)
