You know how when you live in a big city and get tired and/or stoned a lot so you end up ordering Thai delivery so many times that the places all seem to blur together and you forget which one is which? Yeah, well, that happens to me too, and so it’s entirely possible that I am not actually reviewing Thai Thai, but rather a sort of idealized Thai delivery place that may or may not have been Thai Thai. This is terrible, but what can be done about it? They literally picked the most generic name imaginable. Anyway, if this is the place I think it was, it was perfectly fine Thai food, a little underseasoned but not greasy or too heavy, and it was delivered quickly and without hassle. Unless that was someplace else.

Great neighborhood Thai! I’ve been pleased with my take out orders, and order once or twice a month. The chicken satay is flavorful and not greasy like some places. Love the curries. My go to dish, Pad Woon Sen with tofu and extra vegetables, makes me happy. Almost as good as the old Thai Room version. Again not greasy and lots of fresh veggies along with canned mushrooms. I’ve even convinced a friend who was not fan when the previous owners ran the place. A few weeks ago, we ordered Pad Thai, satay, pot stickers, Mussaman currie and a beef dish and my friend was impressed. I love having tasty Thai food around the corner.

I have had the pleasure of trying multiple dishes, and each time have been delighted with the flavor and freshness. I have noticed that the fried dishes taste fresh like a clean oil and clean grill have been used. This allows the delicious flavors to peak through. Try the fried rice, noodle dishes, salads and soups. you cant go wrong. This place has the most fresh, authentic thai I have ever had.

Wow! This is the best thai I’ve had yet! Their pad Thai is better than most places, and their vegetable spring rolls are delicious, without getting oily like many places. Definitely try this place out

This was my first time eating their food and it definitely will not be the last. I had the Mussamun Curry, Pad See Ewe, and for dessert I had the Sweet Sticky Rice with Banana. It was delicious. However, that is only part of the reason I decided to write this review. I ordered this meal through GrubHub and when ordering you can place«special instructions» with your order. I entered special instructions asking them to «make with love.» I was just having some fun. But when I got my order I was given a little surprise. There were hearts drawn on the container surrounding the words«made with love» and a small boat hat made from receipt paper with«love» and«:)» faces covering it. It was a very small gesture and completely unexpected but it felt great. Made me smile :) Even their delivery man was very kind with a huge smile on his face. I’d recommend trying them out.

Food is not authentic. Pad prik is good, but it’s not real thai pad prik. Papaya salad is bland and isn’t authentic either. Massaman curry is just OK. Very mediocre.

First things first… I have never tried Thai food so today was the first. I decided to go to Thai Thai because I always drive pass but never stop in. Today was the day my friends and I stopped in to carry out. The restaurant is quite small but the food we ordered was pretty delicious. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki(i tried to play it safe) and my friend ordered bbq pork fried rice. Thai Thai is a bit pricey but upon ordering the chicken teriyaki i received rice, miso soup and a salad for $ 10. Overall a little pricey for small portions but good food, clean restaurant, and friendly people.

My wife and mother in law who just landed Chicago were craving Thai food and all our usual was closed(Monday), so quickly Unilocaled to find this place. It is a small place with not so easy to find a parking space on street. When we walked in they were busy preparing take out orders. Restaurant was empty but amount of delivery/take out gave me a confidence to try out the place. We ordered dinner portion chicken pad Thai, lunch special vege pad Thai and lunch special basil beef. Order came out quick and we were happy that they got the spicy right away. Often that is our struggle to find a good Thai place who can actually make it spicy enough for us and after a brief chat with the owner they learned to gauge who really wants spicy food and make it according that. I wish it is a bit closer to us but still not too far at all and we will definitely visit again.

My husband and I have been eating at Thai Thai for years. As much as we miss the old owners, we really really like the new owners. It is a family run business and neither of us have been disappointed in the quality and taste of the dishes, even with the extended menu. I believe the daughters are the wait staff and have always been friendly and attentive. I can’t say anything about the delivery because we always dine in. One thing we can do without are distractions of the TV’s. The best part for us is that it’s still BYOB.

Thai Thai. what has become of you? Ive been coming here for 20 years. Please listen to your customers. Food portions too small. Food is not tasty, your chef needs to go back to school. Even I can cook better following recipe on internet. Pad thai — Good — portion small, lacks flavor Mongolian Beef — no flavor, taste like crap american watered down food Please, we would like to keep coming, but you have to make some changes

I live across the street and I tried many times to fall in LOVE with them but I can’t. It is not that I don’t LIKE that place… The food is all right. I really LIKE the Tom Yum soup. One of the best I ever had. The customer service is a little bit slow-ish… :-(accept the one person, very nice young man, who’s always smiling, there is no one who knows what to do…

My friendly neighborhood Thai go-to. Ordering food is quick and easy, we always pick up from the restaurant and is completed within the time promised. The food is what you would expect and they rarely disappoint.

I usually enjoy this place. After tonight I’m disappointed Although the food arrived quickly through online delivery, it was not good quality. I ordered the Jungle Curry — it is soup. I was shocked when it arrived in the soup container. I thought there was an error because it was a clear liquid broth. I’m not sure why this is listed as a curry. In addition, I ordered cruncy wide noodles instead of rice to go with it and the noodle was completely fried. There was no soaking up any sauce with this, but I guess it didn’t matter since I was putting it in a soup. Then my sig-o ordered the deep fried appetizers combo and the chive dumpling. The chive dumpling was fine. From the appetizers, the biggest let down was the crab rangoon. There was a pea sized amount of filling in one of the two rangoons. Was hoping for better quality. I would rather they spent more time on the food than rush it to us in this state.

Their delivery range many be huge… but it takes forever. Sure, they quoted me over an hour when I submitted my Grubhub order around 7 on a Sunday night– but seriously? It never takes that long. Except here. Extra sad because I expected typical Asian takeout for the price point– my beef & broccoli was like an actual food pyramid size portion. For the price I normally get more than a pound of food. It’s not that I need that– but I expect them to be competitive with other similar area restaurants. Nope. Soup though was a pretty normal size. There’s always that. It was still hot when I got it, too.

Ordered in once on their website, never been to the restaurant. I ordered the Spicy Basil with shrimp(extra 2.00) and extra shrimp(extra 2.00). Total of 6 pieces laid on top what looked like two cups of vegetables in a gravy that smelled delicious. The 1 star is for 4 reasons. 1) It took 90 minutes from when I ordered to get to my cousins apartment down the street. 2) As soon as I took the top off there was a black hair just sitting there. 3) The drinks we ordered weren’t in our bag, I then called and they told me they were out of them. A 5 star business would have called the customer and informed them they were out of an item they ordered upon receiving their order. 4) In the«comments» part on their website I wrote«make as hot as possible!!!» My cousin ordered the Grilled Eggplant and her sauce was just as mild as mine. So even if I didn’t ask for them to make it as hot as possible it still should have been spicy, it being called Spicy Basil and all. Spicy Basil is a very misleading name.

Crab Rangoon very cream cheesy but good. Crispy not greasy. Vietnamese spring rolls good. Red curry chicken ordered very very spicy and came pretty spicy whic is always a challenge(understand they may be reluctant to make so spicy customer cannot eat) I added extra hot sauce. Bit of a mix up ordering a fried rice, but reordered and was just going to take the wrong wrong home, they very kindly first offered half price and then no charge. Very much appreciated. Food was good. They do have a tv and LPGA was on, not too loud and turned out to be a pleasant distraction on a quiet post vacation outing for that missed spicy food. Byob which is always a plus, but not a liquor store too nearby so remember to bring along. Service fine, casual. Décor and ambiance is storefront but very clean and friendly.

What is not to like? Do yourself a favor and stop in, or order take out because their delivery range is crazy huge. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, but my personal faves are the pad bamee with bbq pork and the pineapple curry with chicken. The pad bamee is filled with a large variety of excellent quality veggies. Not to mention — mango over sticky rice. SO. GOOD. They deliver super fast. Everyone there is pleasant and you can tell they enjoy what they do. My new go to!

If you’re looking for a local neighborhood Thai fix, then you’re not going to be disappointed! Still a little far for me considering rush hour, I needed to scope out a new Asian food place. I also didn’t feel like paying to have my food delivered. My Chinese restaurant fell under new management, and the last time I ordered food, it was terrible! I always rate Thai places based off their Panang Curry Chicken, and their Pad See Ewe. I ordered both. The dishes tasted the way you would expect them to taste. My two complaints would be that the Panang was a little soupy. I am used to a thicker sauce. The Pad See Ewe did not have enough sauce or marinade that I am used to having in this dish. The staff is super friendly, and I could see the kid running the register was a student and musician. I wonder if he plays his guitar inside the restaurant on slower summer afternoons. Since it was rush hour, my food was ready to go as soon as I got to the restaurant. It was still hot and fresh by the time I got home. They are very efficient with how they pack up your order. The portions of food you receive are generous and will last you for at least 3 meals if you order the same items I did. Overall a great local spot! Although they are only blocks away, I might consider having my food delivered. If you decide to dine here, know that Thai Thai is in a small space, and will only seat about 10 people. It took me 20 minutes to get there. Thank goodness the trip back north up Elston was not as congested! Thanks for the food! Very tasty!
